The 125-key Motto by Hilton will be equipped with a full-service restaurant, food stalls in a courtyard, and a speakeasy.
In addition to the Hilton hotel, Sixty West Funds and Lucror Resources will build a seven-story heavy timber construction office building.

The food was superb, the offerings sublime, the settings were amazing. The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival 2019 showed why it is the premiere food event in the Southeast.
The festival began Thursday, May, 30 2019 at 6:00 PM. The first event was called ” Stars Atlanta: Coming Together Over Exceptional Food and Wine in the Fight Against Prostate Cancer.”
Atlanta Food & Wine Festival 2019: Review
As with many others, the setup was very attendee-friendly and catered to those visiting the city for this joyous occasion.
The chefs, makers and other talent were all in high spirits as they shared their secrets and culinary expertise with the crowds.
As for me, it was my first Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, so I didn’t know quite what to expect. I found it pleasant, fun and exceptionally planned.
Brunch… is served
There were two notable brunches over the weekend that set the tone: Saturday’s Savor Arkansas and Sunday’s Great Bake Sale.
The Savor Arkansas breakfast shone a spotlight on the culinary excellence of the Razorback state. The vendors not only put on a show of grace and hospitality, but the food was downright outstanding — exactly the kind of royal Southern meal you’d expect.
The Great Bake Sale brunch featured bite-size concepts that catered to the sweet tooth. (S/O to the bread pudding).
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Atlanta Food & Wine Festival event, without free-flowing libations to lighten the atmosphere and couple with sweetened palates.
In Historic Fourth Ward Park is where the festival’s Tasting Tents were located. Thousands of foodies congregated over the three-day weekend to sample and savor the food from the region’s most renown eateries.
To put it in a word, it was simply delicious (OK, two words).
The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is a well-organized machine that I would recommend times 10!
Atlanta is having a restaurant renaissance. Hot chicken is the rage in Atlanta’s dining scene right now. But so are chicken and waffles.
Fast-casual is also the dining trend du jour around metro Atlanta restaurants. The concept involves mixing the quick accessibility of fast food with the casual dining experience. Food in Atlanta is also adapting to the various tastes of the migrants that come here to live.

Georgia’s politics, specifically the legislature’s passage of a recent anti-abortion bill, has put the state’s footing as the nation’s movie capital in jeopardy. The Georgia movie industry hangs in the balance.
Case in point: Walt Disney Co Chief Executive Bob Iger told Reuters this week that continuing to produce movies in Georgia would be “very difficult,” if the controversial law takes effect.
CEO says it’d be ‘difficult’ for Disney to produce movies in state
Disney has had a very successful run filming around Atlanta and the state over the past four years. With “Avengers” franchise and “Black Panther” filming here, the media company holds a lot of sway.
Many Hollywood stars voiced displeasure with Georgia politicians as the “heartbeat” bill gained momentum in the state House and Senate.
Iger is the highest movie executive who has spoke out against the bill. He has been in the news lately to talk up Disney’s new streaming service.
“I rather doubt we will,” he answered when asked by Reuters if Disney could stay in the state if the governor signs the bill. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully.”
The heartbeat bill states that a doctor can perform an abortion even after he or she can detect a fetal heartbeat. The law goes into effect January 1, if it isn’t defeated before then.
Georgia movie industry is red hot
Atlanta has become a movie mecca in recent years and Georgia has been a favorite location for TV productions since the state instituted generous tax breaks for film companies that agree to shoot locally. Projects from CBS, NBC, HBO, BET and more are slated to shoot in the metro area in 2018-19 and the foreseeable future.
With more than 700 movie and TV projects just in the last few years, the film industry has generated more than $9 billion for the state of Georgia. There are so many movies filmed in Atlanta these days that it’s hard to keep up with it all. That’s why I suggest you subscribe to AtlantaFi.com to get all the freshest movie casting calls, celeb sightings and Atlanta happenings delivered to your inbox.Want to work in Georgia film & TV? When Atlanta’s City Council passed a resolution approving the nation’s first food forest, many critics scratched their heads thinking it wouldn’t work. An Atlanta food forest? No way, they said.
Indeed, the city is used to enormous plans shriveling up due to less than stellar community support or political infighting. But this time, it’s different.
Here is the location Of The Atlanta Food Forest
The city’s nonstop development has forced the hands of city planners to come up with a way to feed thousands of community residents stuck in food desserts around the city.
The location of the first food forest in the United States is 2217 Browns Mill Road, Atlanta, GA. 30315. Here’s a map to help you find the spot.
The Atlanta food forest will be bordered by the following addresses: 406 Rhinehill Rd SE, Atlanta, Ga. 30315.The location’s Fulton County tax parcel ID numbers are 14-0038-0008-007-4 and 14-0038-0008-101-5 respectively.
The 7-acre plot used to be owned by the Morgans, a couple who farmed the land. In 2016, the Conservation Fund bought the property.
City officials have been meeting to come up with a solution to the city’s numerous food deserts, which are typically in disenfranchised areas of Atlanta.
The government defines a food desert as low-income communities located more than 1 mile from fresh fruits and vegetables. Fast food restaurants don’t count.
What Kinds Of Food Will Be Available In Atlanta’s Food Forest?
The Atlanta food forest will grow a variety of fresh produce, including fruits, nuts, vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms. All of the bounty will be available for public consumption.
The project has come to fruition thanks to a grant from the U.S Forest Service’s Community Forest Program.
Fruit-bearing trees were planted over the last year, much of it by local schoolchildren. Much of the food will be available for foraging by Atlanta residents for free.
How Harvest Works At The Food Forest
Participating neighborhoods will get to harvest first in the forest, then volunteers get garden food every Wednesday (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and second Saturday (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

The Gulch, that long stretch of underground parking lot, railyard and abandoned greenspace, has been rebranded as Centennial Yards.
Real estate firm CIM Group is responsible for the transformation, which aims to encompass far more just a name change.
The Gulch In Downtown Atlanta Is Now Centennial Yards
The name change is part of a redevelopment that will feature a mix of hotels, apartments and retail spaces covering up to 12 million square feet. The project will revitalize a 40-acre patch of land that has sat dormant and unkempt for more than two decades.
The downtown Atlanta space, which used to be a prominent railroad junction, fell into disrepair when city planners sought to build up the area around Techwood for the 1996 Olympics.
“Now is a prudent time for us to launch the branding of Centennial Yards. We wanted a name that was authentic, and one that would make clear where the project was located, while also honoring the history of the site,” said Devon McCorkle, First Vice President, CIM Group.
During the commotion around the new Amazon headquarters, Atlanta officials offered plans to redevelop the Gulch, but there was staunch opposition.
The latest effort seems to have come to pass quietly.
