The Annual Truck Invasion event roared into town once again, delivering a massive spectacle that blended high-octane thrills, towering big rigs, and the unmistakable scent of burning rubber — all with a surprising twist from Mother Nature.
Held at a sprawling motorsport venue, this year’s gathering drew thousands of enthusiasts eager to witness customized trucks of every shape and size. From lifted pickups with gleaming chrome and aggressive stances to full-sized semi-trucks modified for pure showmanship, the lineup was nothing short of impressive.
Atlanta Truck Invasion Event: How It Went
Attendees wandered through rows of meticulously detailed builds, snapping photos and trading stories about engine swaps, suspension lifts, and wild paint jobs.

ATLANTA — A hometown success story in independent filmmaking is hitting screens this week as Alex & Mor: A Love Odyssey, the debut feature from Atlanta-raised director Tim Glover, premieres exclusively on the free streaming platform Mometu starting Friday, April 24, 2026.
Born in Augusta, and raised right here in Atlanta, Glover left college in 2010 to pursue filmmaking full time.

His journey has taken him from award-winning short films to working behind the scenes on some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters — including Avengers: Endgame, The Suicide Squad, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Superman — as a prop assistant and on-set VFX team member. Now, he’s channeling that big-studio experience into a deeply personal, independent project.
Glover wrote, directed, produced, filmed, and edited Alex & Mor: A Love Odyssey himself
The visually striking romantic drama follows a couple seeking to reunite across space and time, blending emotional intimacy with ambitious, cinematic storytelling.
What started as a small proof-of-concept idea grew over five years into a full-length feature, pieced together during breaks from his day jobs on major productions.
“This film started as a proof of concept, something I just needed to create,” Glover said. “Over time, it grew into something much bigger. We built it piece by piece, stayed committed to the vision, and trusted the process every step of the way.”
The movie recently screened at the Phoenix Film Festival, earning positive reception in a filmmaker-friendly environment. Mometu, a free ad-supported platform dedicated to independent and underserved cinema, picked it up for an exclusive North American streaming release.

Kim Hutchins is certain that she saw a drone hovering over a nearby park in her Atlanta neighborhood the other day.

Well, dream or not, it’s about to be reality for hungry metro Atlanta residents.
Alphabet’s Wing drone delivery service is teaming up with DoorDash to bring aerial food deliveries to the Atlanta metropolitan area.
DoorDash and Wing Drone Delivery: What To Know
The expansion, announced on Wednesday, allows eligible customers near Tanger Outlets Locust Grove to order from select restaurants and receive their meals via drone in as little as 20 minutes.
Participating restaurants currently include Molinos Mexican Grill, Koji Japanese Steakhouse, and Sabrosos Mexican Restaurant. Availability depends on order size, weight, and proximity to the drone launch area.
Customers can check eligibility by entering their address on Wing’s delivery website, and those outside the current zone can sign up for notifications about future expansions.
This builds on Wing’s existing partnership with DoorDash in parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas. Wing, Alphabet’s drone subsidiary, has also been scaling up its operations, recently expanding deliveries for Walmart to hundreds more stores.
DoorDash has been actively testing automated delivery solutions, including its own ground robot “Dot” and partnerships with robotic delivery companies in cities like Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Wing, meanwhile, introduced a larger drone design in 2024 capable of carrying up to 5-pound payloads, enabling broader commercial use cases.
The move represents another step in the growing commercialization of drone deliveries for everyday consumer needs, particularly in suburban areas where quick ground transport can be challenging.

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, the Stone Mountain-raised singer best known as one-third of the legendary Atlanta girl group TLC, is drawing scrutiny from fans after Federal Election Commission records revealed nearly $1,000 in donations to Trump-linked fundraising platforms and groups during the 2024 election cycle.
Records show Thomas, who has long called the Atlanta area home, contributed approximately $210 to WinRed (a major Republican donation processor), $340 to the Trump National Committee JFC, and nearly $487 to Never Surrender Inc., a PAC closely tied to Donald Trump.
In total, her documented 2024 political giving hovered around $900, with the bulk flowing toward Trump-aligned entities.
n a recent statement, Chilli explained that the donations were not intended as political support for Trump or MAGA causes. She said she believed the contributions were directed toward veterans’ issues and efforts to combat human trafficking — causes close to her heart, noting that her father is a veteran and that she has long advocated for children’s welfare.

MARTA
MARTA offers both bus and rail services. The rail system has several stations downtown, including Peachtree Center, Five Points (a central hub), and Civic Center. The trains can take you to key areas, including the airport, Midtown, and Buckhead.

Streetcar
The Atlanta Streetcar runs a 2.7-mile loop through downtown, connecting major attractions like Centennial Olympic Park, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, and Georgia State University.

The minds behind one of Netflix’s most iconic series have pulled back the curtain on the intense pressure and last-minute scrambles that shaped the emotional conclusion of Stranger Things.
In the newly released documentary One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5, now streaming on Netflix, creators Matt and Ross Duffer open up about the unusually chaotic writing process for the show’s series finale (Season 5, Episode 8).
Stranger Things Documentary Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Madness
The brothers describe it as “the most difficult writing environment” they’ve ever faced, driven by massive creative pressure, sky-high fan expectations, and relentless pushes from production teams and Netflix executives to lock in the script.
Adding to the stress: Filming in Atlanta and other places kicked off before the finale script was fully complete—a rare and nerve-wracking move for the Duffers.
Production assistant Montana Maniscalco noted in the doc that parts of the final episode were shot without the complete story in hand. The full script was only finalized just days before the cast’s emotional last table read in September 2024.
Matt Duffer reflected on the high-stakes timeline, explaining that while the ending had been carefully outlined for years, the actual writing raced against the clock as cameras rolled.
Cast members, including Finn Wolfhard, shared how the prolonged uncertainty left everyone emotionally drained, with months spent waiting to learn how their characters’ journeys would wrap.
Despite the behind-the-scenes turmoil, Stranger Things Season 5—released in three volumes ending with the finale on December 31, 2025—drew record-breaking viewership, with Volume One smashing previous Netflix benchmarks.
The series, which first premiered in 2016 and became a global phenomenon, wrapped after nearly a decade, and the Duffer Brothers expressed deep gratitude to fans, saying the show’s lasting impact far exceeded anything they imagined.
