How To Wear A Lace Front Wig: 5 Easy Steps

    5 Min Read

Fixing up your lace front wigs makes it easy for you to express your unique style no matter the season,

If we’re being honest,  the issue is that a lot of women don’t know how to properly wear a wig, believe it or not.

This article is going to thoroughly cover how to wear a lace front wig. The ease of putting on one and taking it off makes it an appealing fashion accessory for all times of the year.

For Beginners: How To Wear A Lace Front Wig The Right Way

If you’ve never worn a lace front wig or if this is your first time, consider this a helpful resource to introduce you by walking you through all the steps.

No doubt, you’ve seen those celebrities that hurry up and don a lace front wig just to look cute on Instagram or whatever. Some of the biggest celebrities have some lace front fails as a result.

The issue is that they haven’t taken the time to fit the lace front properly on their head. Let’s go over a step-by-step process on making sure you wear your lace front the right way. But first….

    1. What Is A Lace Front Wig?

What is a lace front wig and how to wear one

If you’re a beginner, take heart: You’re going to learn all there is about how to wear a lace front wig by reading this.

First off, you may be wondering what is a lace wig. A lace front wig is a hair piece that has a “lace” or see-through mesh attached to the wig. The “lace front” lines the front (and sometimes back) of the wig, creating a hairline.

Lace front wigs are extremely popular because they create hairlines that look realistic and are easy to style.

A lace front wig is made up of three parts:

    • The wig cap: Protective covering worn underneath
    • The lace: The sheer mesh trim around the wig
    • The wig itself: The Hair

Make sure you’re OK with the wig’s hair density

You want to determine if you want thick hair or thin hair as well as the style you want.

Each lace front wig has a cap on the inside, which protects your head. Many full lace wigs have hooks to tighten them.

Many of them also have combs on three sides of your head.

    2. Cut The Lace Off The Front Of The Wig

How to wear a lace front wig for beginners

Grab some clippers for this part.

What you’ll want to do is trim some of the lace front back to adjust to where your natural hairline should be.

As you trim the hairline, make sure you don’t cut too close to the actual wig. You don’t want to cut any hair strands because this could cause shedding.

Lace front wigs never come with perfectly symmetric hairlines because that’s not how natural hairlines are.

    3. Pin Your Hair Up and Put The Stocking Cap On Your Head

    Lace front cap: tutorial

Now it’s time to pin your real hair up so that it’s as compact as possible. The reason is so that the stocking cap can fit without any high points or bumps.

Stocking caps will come usually in shades of brown or a black one. It’s always good to use a stocking cap that is as close to your complexion as you can get it.

    4. Put The Lace Front On Your Head

How to wear a lace front wig: step-by-step tutorial

Once your wig cap is secured, it’s time to put the lace front on your head. It’s more to it than just plopping in onto your head.

    Here’s what you should do:

    • Tighten the straps in the back
    • Use the combs to maneuver the wig in position
    • Use both hands to gently push the wig in a comfortable position on your head

    5. Experiment With Different Styles

How to wear a lace front wig

Because every person’s head and face is shaped a bit differently, you’ll want to play around with your lace front to see which styles match you best. Here are some ways to wear your lace front:

    • Wrap your hair up in the back to accent your cheeks.
    • Pull your hair behind your ears to accentuate your jawline.
    • Straighten your hair and wear it long.

Which ever style you choose, be confident in your look and don’t be afraid to switch it up as many times as you like throughout the week or month.

    Final Thought

Wearing a lace front wig shouldn’t be a chore or feel like a burden. Have fun with your hair. Rejoice in your looks you can pull off.

A lace front wig is one of the most convenient ways to explore your personal fashion.

  • Here’s Where the 4 New MARTA Stations Will Be Built In Atlanta

    3 Min Read

Atlanta is leaning hard into public transportation for the foreseeable future with the recent announcement of four new MARTA stations coming to Atlanta.

The news was shared by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who stressed that any new transit project address the city’s equity needs.

“Our city’s transportation landscape is dynamic, mirroring the diverse growth and evolution of Atlanta’s neighborhoods. Both legacy and emerging communities have immediate transportation needs that deserve effective solutions,” said Dickens.

Among the plans are to build new MARTA stations around the city, including a heavy rail system at Murphy Crossing.

Where Are the New MARTA Stations Being Built?

Here are the locations for the four MARTA stations:

    Murphy Crossing

1050 Murphy Ave., Atlanta, Ga. 30310

Located at the intersection of Murphy Avenue and Sylvan Road, Murphy Crossing is a redevelopment site that was once slated for office/commercial but funding fell through. Owned by the Beltline, now its use as a transit hub becomes clear.

    Krog Street/Hulsey Yard

Boulevard Dr., Atlanta, Ga. SE 30307

The city’s transit plans also include transforming the Krog Street and the Halsey depot, a CSX freight storage property, into a MARTA station.

Also, construction of a corridor for a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line to connect the redeveloped Bowen Homes community with Ponce City Market.

    Joseph E. Boone

Among the infill MARTA station investments is a rail hub on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard.

The project will highlight civic collaboration between the City of Atlanta in partnership with the Atlanta BeltLine, and MARTA to deliver equitable transportation projects across Atlanta.

    Armour Yards

Armour Circle, NE Atlanta, Ga. 30324

Officially the city’s MARTA rail yard, the Armour Circle project will MARTA’s expansion meet the city’s transportation goals as a major metropolitan city.

“It is imperative that our transportation investments are strategically and equitably deployed to increase ridership on MARTA’s heavy rail network and bus system fostering a more connected and unified Atlanta,” he said.

In addition to developing design and financing plans, the directive from Dickens calls for community engagement efforts to ensure the design of the infill stations are accessible and appropriate for their respective neighborhoods.

The Department of English and Modern Languages at Clark Atlanta University will hold its 51st annual Writer’s Workshop Conference next week on the campus.

The event, which runs April 16 – 18, 2024, will take place in Davage Auditorium, according to a press release.
The conference’s theme is “Black Boy Joy: Black Men Telling Their Stories and Truths” and will bring another year of fascinating and much-needed conversation from notable and critically acclaimed authors who explore similar and diverse genres.

“Most often, we see the inequities that Black men encounter daily, whether it’s in their careers, social status, or dealings with the police,” said Dr. Georgene Montgomery, Chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages at Clark Atlanta University. “So, because of that, there’s never been a better time than now to celebrate our brothers and revel in ‘black boy joy.’ This year’s writer’s workshop will feature and highlight authors whose works are currently taught in both undergraduate and graduate classes at CAU and who exemplify and encourage great writing.”

The conference will kick off on April 16 with a poetry slam featuring internationally known and two-time Grammy-nominated spoken word artist and CAU professor Queen Sheba serving as mistress of ceremonies.

The Writer’s Workshop Conference will pair featured writers with kindred scholars to engage in significant conversations about their works and ‘black boy joy.’  Featured writers and scholars include:

    • Jericho Brown, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and author of The Tradition (Copper Canyon 2019). He is a professor and director of Creative Writing at Emory University. Professor Brown will confer with Dr. Brittny Crowell, Clark Atlanta University assistant professor of Poetry.
    • Arthur Flowers, a novelist, essayist, and performance poet, is the author of several works, including Another Good Loving Blues and De Mojo Blues. A founding member/director of the New Renaissance Writers Guild, NYC, The Griot Shop, Memphis, and the Pan African Literary Forum, Flowers’ work is known for his focus on the African American experience. Flowers will discourse with Dr. Kameelah Martin, Dean of Graduate School at the College of Charleston and author of Conjuring Moments in African American Literature: Women, Spirit Work, and Other Such Hoodoo.
    • Kiese Laymon, a Libbie Shearn Moody professor of English and Creative Writing at Rice University, whose bestselling memoir, Heavy: An American Memoir, won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. He will converse with Dr. Daniel Black, Clark Atlanta University professor and author of seven novels, including They Tell Me of a Home, The Coming, Perfect Peace, and The Sacred Place.
    • Dr. Michael Datcher, author of the Ferguson-area historical novel AMERICUS: A Novel (Third World Press) and the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller Raising Fences: A Black Man’s Love Story (Penguin Putnam/Riverhead), a Today Show Book Club book of the month pick. His latest work, Harlem at Four, illustrated by famed artist Frank Morrison, is a New York Times bestseller. Dr. Datcher will have a discussion with Clark Atlanta University instructor Dr. Terry Bozeman.

Additionally, the conference will include two panels, So You Got Stories to Tell: Here’s How to Write Them, featuring Michael Datcher, Ph.D., and Arthur Flowers, and How to Get Your Stories Published, with Paul Coates, an Atlanta University alumnus and founder/publisher of the Black Classic Press and Malaika Adero, a Clark College alumna who is an author and founder of the Adero’s Literary Tribe LLC literary agency.

  • Delta Announces Changes To Boarding Process

    2 Min Read

For the first time in half a decade, Delta Air Lines is changing its boarding process. The Atlanta-based carrier says that on May 1, boarding passes will be categorized by zones.

The way Delta lets flyers board its planes — based on cabin, ticket type and Medallion status — is going away.

The reason why Delta is making the change is because it better aligns with its international partners and simplifies the boarding process.

How Will Delta’s Boarding Status Change?

Delta says flyers will board in the same order, but the categories will be called zones. beginning with zone 1 and ending with zone 8.

For example, a Delta Comfort+ ticket will board in Zone 3, and a Sky Priority customer will be in Zone 4, according to a chart on the airline’s website. The last zone, 8, will be for basic economy passengers.

Delta said the change will “provide customers more clarity into the boarding sequence and make the boarding process more intuitive—especially for infrequent travelers and/or customers who might face a language barrier at the gate.”

    Final Lap

Most people in Atlanta know that Delta is the best airline at its airport. There are many reasons why.

Not only is it the world’s busiest airport, but it’s state-of-the-art in every way. If you’re interesting in traveling around Atlanta via car or even on scooter, here’s what to know.

What Former President Trump Ordered At an Atlanta Chick-fil-A

    2 Min Read

Former President Donald Trump stopped inside of an Atlanta Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, to put in an enormous order for his supporters on hand. The Vine City Chick-fil-A has been in operation for a few years now as being a part of a Arthur Blank-led revitalization plan.

Trump was on town to participate in a fundraiser to help pay for some adverse judgments that went against him in a New York court.

At the Chick-fil-A, Trump told the associates that “Is business good? Making a lot of money? So everyone can get rich, right?” He want on to ask them if they liked each other.

What Did Trump Order at the Atlanta Chick-fil-A

Trump ordered “30 milkshakes” and also “some chicken, that way we can take care of the customers.” Assuming he didn’t get a discount, the milkshakes alone would cost $150. With chicken, we’re talking double that at least.

Here’s Trump in action in the ATL:

Trump is obviously familiar with the food, but does he know about Chick-fil-A’s secret menu? Maybe we can put him up on game.

    Final Bite

Chick-fil-A has consistently been voted one of the top fast-food eateries in America. Along with solid customer service and a secret menu, the restaurant may not be the trendiest but it gets the job done.

Metro Atlanta’s food and drink scene continues to grow with no stops on the horizon. Ready to try something new?

  • Forever Stamp To Honor Hank Aaron

    2 Min Read

Atlanta’s own “Hammering” Hank Aaron will soon be immortalized with his very own commemorative stamp.

The U.S. Postal Service says it will honor the Atlanta Braves baseball legend for his many contributions and off the field.

This stamp celebrates the life and career of Aaron (1934–2021), a giant both on and off the field, who rose from humble beginnings to rewrite the record books while prevailing in the face of racism.

The stamp art features a digital painting of Aaron as a member of the Atlanta Braves, showing his famous right-handed batting stance from the waist up. The selvage showcases a digital painting of Aaron watching the ball he had just hit for his record-breaking 715th home run on April 8, 1974.

Greg Breeding, an art director for USPS, designed the stamp and pane with original art by Chuck Styles.

The Hank Aaron stamp will be issued in panes of 20. As a Forever stamp, it will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1‑ounce price.

The official first day of issue and stamp dedication ceremony location will be announced at a later date.

Aaron, considered by many as the greatest hitter in Major League Baseball, passed away in January 2021 after an illness.

The stylish sports bar’s patio is a great people-watching spot and the burgers, steaks and tacos on the menu make this place a must-visit to watch the NFL playoffs.

One Google reviewer explains why this is one of the best sports bars in Atlanta: “Happening place with excellent food! You just can’t go wrong with Yard House. We visit Atlanta every year at Christmas time, and Yard House has become a family tradition. The menu is extensive and everything we’ve tried has been delicious! They have an excellent Happy Hour … that includes a HUGE selection of 1/2 price appetizers. I think we have literally ordered everything on the happy hour menu! You can’t beat the price!”

Topgolf caters not to the golf fan so much, but the sports fan. With flat-screen TVs at every station, you can swing clubs or sit back and enjoy your game when you want it. Inside at the bar, you can see multiple screens from several vantage points while you eat and drink.

Here’s why one Google reviewer says this is one of the best sports bars in Atlanta:: “This is a really fun place for all age groups. If golf is not your thing, they also offer table tennis or ping pong upstairs and pool tables downstairs. The putting area is spacious. Of course it is outdoors, but they offer large heat lamps directly over the seating area. There are two levels to the seating area. The first is a high bar with chairs. The second is a u-shaped outdoor sofa with a center table. All food and drink orders can be placed from your bay. For each game, each player gets 20 chances to “put the ball in the hole”. You can take all 20 swings in a row or rotate players as you’d like. If you aren’t interested in playing any of the game options, you can also dine in or have a round at the bar. Enjoy!”
