Fast casual Indian eatery Sankranti is set to open its doors in November, AtlantaFi.com has learned. The restaurant would join a location in nearby Johns Creek.
Sankranti (sum-kraanthi) means “positive change” in Sanskrit. The restaurant will be metro Atlanta’s first fast casual Indian concept.

“In many ways, Sankranti is similar to our Thanksgiving where families meet and celebrate the festival with sumptuous food, love, and gratitude,” it says on the eatery’s website. “The festival is a time for communal celebration for a bountiful harvest. Like Sankranti, the first thanksgiving was celebrated over 3 days in 1621. In many South Indian cultures pumpkin is one of the primary foods enjoyed at this time.”

Slutty Vegan is bringing its plant-based burgers and more to Gwinnett County. The restaurant’s social media account confirmed that owner Pinky Cole is opening another Slutty Vegan outpost in Gwinnett.
The new restaurant would be the first Slutty Vegan north of Atlanta and the company’s fourth in the area.

Cole told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that when she visited the location, it gave off the right vibes.
“I go to a location and I feel it out. The parking has to feel right, the energy has to feel good. I want it to be in close proximity to areas where people have easy access to get to. (The Duluth location) checked all the boxes,” she was quoted as saying.
Cole’s meatless restaurants have been popular dining experience in metro Atlanta for three years now. A new hotel concept is set to join Midtown Atlanta’s dazzling skyline this week. Epicurean Atlanta will begin serving guests on Thursday, September 16, 2021, the eatery said in a news release.
The new food and wine-centric hotel constitutes one of a trio of new towers at 1105 West Peachtree. The Selig Development property includes a 31-story office tower and the luxury 64-unit condo tower all connected by a Sky Terrace.

Italian Restaurant Tre Vele Is Opening In Sandy Springs
The new restaurant is a spacious concept that allows diners to spread out when they eat. At Tre Vele, you’ll find a 3,500-square-foot dining room, 1,500-square-foot rooftop terrace and a 600-square-foot market and café.
As for the menu Tre Vele will serve fresh, handmade pasta, pizza, and other traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. Lunch and brunch will be added shortly after the restaurant opens.

Here are some items on Tre Vele’s menu. including fresh pastas such as cacio e pepe, strozzapreti with vegan kale pesto, and ricotta and spinach stuffed cappelletti.

Play The Crowd, an Atlanta-based immersive tech startup, has introduced a motion capture NFT of legendary New York Yankee Mariano Rivera.
The NFTs are part of the “42 Collection,” series, which will highlight Major League Baseball stars. The first release will debut for auction on September 6, 2021. The auction will be open for bids until October 1.
The NFT unlocks access to Mariano’s Virtual 3D World and his very own Sandman Stadium.

The biggest party over the weekend will be at Neyow’s Creole Cafe in Atlanta’s Castleberry Hill neighborhood.
The eatery’s grand opening is set for Saturday, August 28, 2021 with musical performances by Big Freedia, Miss Tee, Hot Boy Donald, Zulu Tramps, Baby Doll, Sabor Brass Band and DJ Captain Charles.
Neyow’s Creole Cafe Is Opening In Atlanta
The event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m.
Several Atlanta eateries feature Louisiana-inspired fare, but a new restaurant with authentic New Orleans roots is bringing new flavor to the city.
Atlantans who love Louisiana-inspired fare have been waiting for Neyow’s Creole Cafe to open since the announcment this past spring.
Neyow’s is owned by New Orleans natives Tamla Pierre-Taylor and Tim Dublecet, according to the Chronicle. And given Atlanta’s thriving dining scene, the entrepreneurs wanted to add its brand to the restaurant gumbo.
In addition to Atlanta, Neyow’s has two other locations in New Orleans and Houston. In those locations, Neyow’s offers online ordering as well as curbside pickup.
“Our menu comes straight from our grandmother’s recipes, rich in our Creole heritage,” it says on the eatery’s website.

Neyow’s offers some great Louisiana Creole and Cajun dishes in addition to Southern standards like fried chicken and ribs. Some other menu standouts include:

Atlanta art and music scene will converge once again this year at the Summer Shade Festival at Grant Park. The one-day event is slated for Saturday, August 28 from 12 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
So, bring your blanket, bring the whole family, but don’t bring any pets, and spend summer’s final weekend at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival.
Some of the youngest visitors will be able to run and play with abandon at this year’s festival. An extensive lineup of performers, artists, storytellers and musicians will grace the kid’s stage. There will also be craft activities for those who like to keep their hands busy!
The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival will feature a Elsewhere Brewing benefit, with live music by Grasshound band from 7pm-10pm, featuring brand new beer release “Grant Park Menagerie,” a Belgian hoppy ale, and $1 from every beer sold today!
Like every year, the festival will kick off early Saturday with the Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K. There will be a tot trot and a stroller race and runners will be awarded by age group. The funds raised will go to support the Grant Park Conservancy.

The new Fox Bros. has opened its doors in The Works, an 80-acre mixed-use development built by Selig Development.
