Lululemon and Atlanta rap collective Organized Noize are teaming up to throw a series of Atlanta block parties around the city starting in October.
By sharing the commonality between hip hop and mindfulness, lululemon and Organized Noize are bolstering their bond through the creation of the Celebrate Atlanta Block Party; a monthly celebration that marries the concepts of hip hop, mindfulness, and city-love.
Starting in October and ending in January, the four block parties are FREEwith an RSVP.
Complimentary yoga will happen at 10am prior to each block party – mats will not be provided.
Conveniently walkable from the West End Marta Station, please note that parking is not available for Adair Park 2 on this day.
Performances from Organized Noize as well as local artists will happen throughout the day.
Celebrate Atlanta branded lululemon product will be available for purchase.
Local food and drink will be available for purchase at each block party.
Tickets for future block parties will be available for RSVP after the conclusion of the previous block party.

Thousands of Atlantans flocked to Midtown Atlanta’s Central Park for One Musicfest 2018 this past weekend. Hometown Atlanta rappers T.I. and Jeezy, EastSide Boyz, Pastor Troy, Kilo Ali, YoungBloodZ and more graced the stage for the ATL.
The two-day music festival was held Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9 at Central Park in Atlanta and featured a gaggle of top talent: Nas, Miguel, T.I., Jeezy, Big Sean, Kelis, Brandy, August Greene, Big KRIT, George Clinton & Parliament and more.
ONE Musicfest 2018: Music lineups announced
Billed as one of the nation’s “Can’t Miss Festivals,” ONE Musicfest was in its ninth year with a first-ever weekend of high-energy performances and unique cultural experiences.
Rapper 2Chainz posted after his performance, “Tonight was one of the best nites ever !!! Thank you ATL.”
Tons of local artists came out to support their colleagues as well. Thousands of people are expected at the 2018 Imagine Music Festival at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The three-day festival — Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23 — will feature food, fun and live music across four main stages.
Throngs of music lovers will be able to jam around the grounds of Atlanta Motor Speedway – from the infield to deep into the early morning in the camping areas.

Imagine Music Festival 2018: How to get tickets
Tickets to Imagine are available now starting at $219 for a 3-day pass and $285 for a 3-day pass with camping. VIP passes with express entry into festival, exclusive viewing areas, VIP bars and lounges, and private air-conditioned VIP trailer restrooms start at $360 for a 3-day pass and $479 with a 3-day pass with camping. Several lodging packages are available, including GA Camping, VIP Camping, RV Camping, Unity Travel Qube village and Hotels.

Amid all the partying and head-banging, is a good cause: The IMF has partnered with Surreal, a fundraising platform, to offer artist-based fan experiences, which will raise money and help make a difference in the lives of children. For as little as $5, fans can enter to win one of the amazing experiences, with those proceeds benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Of all the cities vying to become the Amazon HQ2, Atlanta figured it had a leg up on the competition: world class airport, sizeable downtown and entertainment district, affordable housing and MARTA.
But Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and team have been eerily silent on which city they will choose to bring 50,000 jobs to and $5 billion in investment. But now the world’s biggest online retailer has announced that it will have an answer before end of year.
Speaking at a business meeting in Washington last week, CEO Jeff Bezos said a decision on HQ2 will be made before the close of 2018. He didn’t offer any more clues though.
The Seattle-based tech giant announced Sept. 7 2017 that it would build a new North America headquarters in a metropolitan city with an international airport, touching off a frenzied national competition. The project is expected to ring tens of thousands of jobs and raise the profile of the region — wherever it’s located — immeasurably.
“Let’s be honest with ourselves: This is the largest economic development deal in the history of America,” Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle told the AJC at the time. “It would require action by the Legislature if we are successful. And I’m very optimistic that we can land Amazon in the state, and we’re in great position to do that.”
Company officials toured several cities as it whittled down its list, but Atlanta has gotten only standard treatment so far. If Amazon does pick ATL, it will inherit a city bustling at the seams yet still able to accommodate things like a Super Bowl and more development per square mile than any metropolitan area in the Southeast.
But does Atlanta have what it takes? Only time — and Bezos — will tell.

North Fulton is getting a new health-conscious eatery next month as Flower Child, the fast-casual restaurant that serves seasonally driven, nourishing and food is set to open in Sandy Springs.
The restaurant will open its doors in City Springs, the multi-use project in the heart of downtown Sandy Springs. Flower Child will serve clean, made-from-scratch items such as salads, plates, wraps and bowls based upon seasonal vegetables and fruits, whole grains and lean proteins.
Flower Child’s 3,500-square-foot Sandy Springs location will offer an airy, open atmosphere where up to 78 diners can experience an open air vibe centered on decorative tile and brightly colored brick. Outside they can enjoy a patio that seats an additional 82 people in a 1,300 additional square foot space.
Flower Child is from hospitality expert and Fox Restaurant Concepts founder Sam Fox, who is quoted as saying, “We’re so honored to have received such an outpouring of support from the metro Atlanta community since opening Flower Child Buckhead. With our new location in Sandy Springs, we’re excited to continue our mission of sharing good vibes and delicious food with our growing community of friends and neighbors.”

Flower Child is also hosting a job fair on September 24-29 and October 1-6 between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for positions including servers, cashiers, line and prep cooks, dishwashers and expeditors. Interested applicants are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume to the restaurant or apply online.
The Atlanta restaurants scene is booming. The city’s suburban outposts, including places like Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Johns Creek and Alpharetta are all experiencing a restaurant rebirth as developers look to branch out beyond Atlanta’s core. The smell of freshly baked breads will be emanating from Ponce City Market from now on as Root Baking Co. is set open Thursday, September 20 at the historic mixed-use development.Root Baking Co. was founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Chris Wilkins and Nicole Lewis.
Root Baking Co. Opens In Midtown Atlanta
The eatery will bake fresh bread daily as well as serve as a cafe offering breakfast, lunch and dinner fare Monday through Saturday, followed by happy hour and dinner, with brunch all day on Sundays.
Dishes you can expect to enjoy are Tahini & Turmeric Seed Granola with Yogurt and Fruit for breakfast and Za’atar Roasted Chicken with Harissa Pickled Carrots, Toum, Tarator and A Lot of Herbs on Sorghum Bread at lunch.
Root Baking Co. also plans to introduce the metro area to different chefs from around the South by bringing them in to host dinner pop-ups throughout the year.
This is not Root Baking’s first rodeo. The shop has gotten national acclaim, including being recognized among “The Best Bread Bakeries in the South” by USA Today in 2017. The bakery has also appeared in Southern Living and on Zagat’s “30 Under 30” Charleston list.
