  • Goals oxygen chamber in Atlanta

Atlanta’s Goals Medical Spa Now Has A Michael Jackson-Like Oxygen Chamber

    3 Min Read

One of Michael Jackson’s most iconic health regimens included his renowned oxygen chamber, said to promote anti-aging and more health rejuvenation benefits. Now leading the charge in beauty and esthetics, Goals Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, has announced the addition of the new hyperbaric chamber into their Atlanta facility.

With the well-being of their customers in the forefront, a main goal of this popular aesthetics and plastic surgery facility is to find the most forward-thinking, beneficial and cost-efficient services for their clientele.

    What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

The question has been asked since MJ was found sleeping in his chamber in the 90’s, but shockingly there are loads of medical benefits with this therapeutic service. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an esteemed treatment for conditions such as serious infections, blood cell issues, and slow-healing wounds, especially when as a result of diabetes or radiation injury.

As for Jackson’s actual chamber, it was reportedly found in 2019 to be in the hands of a company called Hyperbaric Modular Systems (HMS), which specializes in alternative treatments.

Adrian Garay, president and CEO of HMS, said that Jackson bought the chanber in 1994, but added that sleeping in it “would have caused oxygen toxicity in his blood.”

How Does A Hyperbaric Chamber Work?

Inside the hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, air pressure is multiplied allowing the client’s lungs to obtain higher oxygen levels, which helps fight bacteria and stimulate stem cells which promote healing, reduces swelling and increases blood flow. The chamber also helps produce and strengthen collagen cells which is a large factor within skin aging.

Studies have shown that “hyperbaric oxygen treatments (HBOT) in healthy aging adults can stop the aging of blood cells and reverse the aging process. In the biological sense, the adults’ blood cells actually grow younger as the treatments progress,” quoted from Science Daily by the source: American Friends of Tel Aviv University.

Goals continues to stay ahead of medical trends and find the most inexpensive and advantageous treatments for their clients. Excited to introduce this legendary medical practice to the city of Atlanta, Goals plans to welcome clients into their new downtown Atlanta headquarters to offer this age-reversing treatment.

Soon to be visible from the West Midtown Atlanta skyline is the Ford Atlanta Research and Innovation Center (FARIC), a facility designed to advance the Ford Motor Company’s digital imprint and tap into the city’s rich tech workforce.

FARIC joins a network of Ford research and development facilities in other places such as Tel Aviv and Palo Alto dedicated to disciplines like software-led connected vehicles, artificial intelligence, university research and more.

Ford To Build FARIC Workspace In Atlanta

“Ford is transitioning from a traditional automotive company to a digital products and services company driven by software innovation,” Jim Buczkowski, executive director for Ford Research, Advanced Engineering, said in a news release. “There’s a high demand for tech talent across industries, and we have an opportunity to create non-traditional career pathways to attract and develop the expertise needed to stay competitive.”

At the workspace and elsewhere within the company, Ford will use Atlanta’s place as a tech hub to lean into attracting and retaining historically underrepresented talent, especially in the software engineering and high technology fields.

“Atlanta continues to attract and grow tech companies and startups; and we continue to attract a desirable talent base — particularly for Black tech talent. We look forward to this partnership with the Ford Atlanta Research and Innovation Center, which has the potential to help us grow an even more robust and diverse pipeline,” said Mayor Andre Dickens.

Aside from serving as an innovation hub and delivering software solutions, the FARIC team will also focus on increasing Black, Hispanic and female representation in software engineering and high technology careers. Strategies include:

    • Leveraging relationships with regional Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and The Atlanta University Center Consortium to help make high-tech career opportunities more available to diverse students

    • Continuing to create and deepen relationships with regional colleges and universities, including HBCUs and Hispanic Service Institutions, to conduct pioneering research and address Ford’s growing need for the new competencies required for electrification, connected vehicles and software engineering that are revolutionizing Ford products, technologies and services

    • Creating flexible, non-traditional career pathways for people interested in pursuing software and high-tech careers, including co-ops, internships, part-time work, and non-degree software programs in collaboration with Atlanta-based TechBridge and community partner City of Refuge

Where Is The Ford Workspace Located In Atlanta?

The Ford workspace will be located within the new 8West development on Atlanta’s Upper West Side (889 Howell Mill Road NW). Here’s a map to help you find it.

The 24,000-square-foot FARIC space is designed to surpass standard ADA compliance with an intentional, accessible layout that supports inclusion, flexibility, collaboration and innovation.

    Final Word

“Underrepresentation is a significant issue in software and engineering industries, especially when it comes to Black and Hispanic communities, which makes it particularly exciting to work with local colleges, universities and nonprofits to help bring greater diversity into the tech space,” said Doron Elliott, senior manager of Ford In-Vehicle Infotainment, who will also oversee FARIC operations. “Building this critical talent base will enable Ford to continue to find innovative and efficient ways to develop cutting-edge products and services to meet the demands of a very diverse customer base.”
