5 Easy Steps To De-Clutter Your Life

    4 Min Read

if you’re like me, you hate clutter but can do little about it. Once you go shopping and buy a few things, they have a way of piling up around the house.

And the bad thing about it is that decluttering can feel overwhelming, but breaking it down into manageable tasks and having a strategy can make a huge difference.

    How To De-Clutter Your Home

Here are some helpful tips to guide you through the process:

    1. Start Small

Pick One Area: Focus on one small area, like a drawer, closet, or countertop. Starting small helps you build momentum and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

Set a Timer: Set a timer for 20-30 minutes and commit to decluttering just during that time. It’s easier to stay focused in short bursts.

Label four boxes or bins as:

    • Keep
    • Donate
    • Sell
    • Trash

As you go through your items, immediately place them into one of the boxes. This prevents the process from becoming too complicated.

    2. Follow the “Four-Season Rule”

For seasonal items, ask yourself when you last used them and whether you realistically will in the next season. If you haven’t used it in over a year, it’s probably time to let it go.

Rather than tackling each room individually, sort by category (e.g., books, clothes, paperwork). This allows you to see how much you have of a particular type of item, making it easier to make decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of.

There’s also the 80/20 rule (Pareto Principle), which suggests that we use 20% of our items 80% of the time. Go through your belongings and ask yourself: Are these items in the 20% that I actually use regularly? If not, it might be time to part with them.

For sentimental items, ask yourself, “Do I really need to keep this to remember it?” Sometimes, taking a photo of a sentimental item can help you keep the memory without holding onto the physical object.

    3. Go Through Papers Regularly

Papers can pile up quickly. Sort through them weekly, and use a filing system to keep only the important ones. Shred documents that are no longer needed.

Taking a photo of a cluttered space before you start can be motivating, and seeing the progress afterward can feel incredibly rewarding.

Decluttering is a process. Break it into chunks and spread it out over time so it doesn’t feel too stressful. Celebrate small wins as you make progress.

    4. Set a Deadline

Setting a clear deadline can help keep you on track. Whether it’s a weekend or a few hours each evening, having a set time to complete a decluttering session can help you stay focused.

For clothes, turn all your hangers the opposite way. As you wear and wash clothes, turn the hanger back to its original position. After a few months, any clothes still facing the wrong way are likely items you don’t wear and can donate or sell.

Sometimes, having a friend or family member help can make decluttering more efficient and less emotionally taxing. They can offer a fresh perspective on what to keep and what to let go of.

    5. Practice the ‘Declutter Daily’ Habit

Instead of letting clutter pile up, spend a few minutes each day tidying up. Put away items, toss out anything unnecessary, and keep surfaces clear to prevent clutter from building up again.

If you’re struggling with sentimental items, try keeping only a select few, like a special box of keepsakes or a memory album, rather than holding onto everything.

    Final Word

If you’ve held onto something because you “might use it someday,” be honest with yourself. Will you really? If not, it’s probably time to let it go.

Decluttering is as much about mental clarity as it is about physical space. Once you start making small, consistent changes, it can have a big impact on your home and mindset.

  • Michael Penix starts for Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons Bench Cousins, Go With Penix the Rest of the Season

    2 Min Read

After witnessing the Atlanta Falcons offense struggle for multiple weeks, the organization has finally did what many fans concluded weeks ago: Rookie Michael Penix deserves to play. He’ll get his shot.

Atlanta Falcons (7-7) are making a change at quarterback, replacing Kirk Cousins with Michael Penix Jr. as the starter for Week 16, the team announced Tuesday night.

“After careful consideration, we’ve decided that Michael Penix will be our starting quarterback moving forward,” head coach Raheem Morris said in a statement. “This decision is purely a football one, and our focus now is on preparing for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.”

The news follows the Falcons’ numerous struggles over the past month, including Monday Night against a hapless Las Vegas Raiders team.

Morris being asked about the team’s quarterback situation earlier in the day, where he emphasized the need for improved play at the position.

While the Falcons secured a 15-9 victory over the Raiders on Monday Night Football, their offensive struggles and lack of production overshadowed the win, which ended a four-game losing streak. Atlanta failed to reach the red zone despite good field position on several drives, and the team’s overall offensive performance has been a concern for weeks.

The calls to replace Cousins had grown deafening over the past few weeks, even as stalwart fans and insiders like Matt Ryan continued to make excuses for him.

Cousins, who led the NFL in passing yards earlier in the season, has struggled significantly since late October. Over the past five games, he has thrown nine interceptions—part of a total of 16 for the season, which leads the league. In that same span, he has thrown just one touchdown pass, and the Falcons have won only once.

“We haven’t played well at quarterback, and that’s been a big part of our struggles,” Morris said Tuesday. “We didn’t play well there on Monday either. I want to be transparent about it. There will always be questions about the head coach and the quarterback position. We have to be better. It’s as simple as that. We need to play better if we want to win against the Giants.”

  • Georgia Bulldogs 2025 schedule

Georgia Bulldog 2025 Football Schedule: SEC and Out-of-Conference Opponents

    2 Min Read

The Georgia Bulldogs have released its 2025 schedule, and it’s a doozy. The expanded Southeastern Conference means that the Bulldogs have one of the toughest schedules in college football.

Let’s take a look at Georgia’s SEC opponents as well as its out-of-conference opponents.

Here Is Georgia’s 2025 Football Schedule

    OpponentDate
    MarshallAugust 30
    Austin PeaySept. 6
    @ TennesseeSept. 13
    ByeSept. 20
    AlabamaSept. 27
    KentuckyOct. 4
    @ AuburnOct. 11
    Ole MissOct. 18
    ByeOct. 25
    Florida (@ Jacksonville)Nov. 1
    @# Mississippi StateNov. 8
    TexasNov. 15
    CharlotteNov. 22
    @ Georgia TechNov. 29

Why Is the Georgia Bulldogs 2025 Schedule So Tough?

The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2025 football schedule is considered notably tough due to several key factors:

    1. Conference Competition

Georgia plays in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), known for its strong football programs. In 2025, they are set to face high-caliber opponents such as Alabama and Texas. Alabama, in particular, is consistently ranked among the top teams nationally, and the addition of Texas to the SEC elevates the competition further.

    2. Key Matchups

he schedule features demanding matchups, with significant games against traditional rivals and top-tier programs. For instance, hosting Texas on November 15 is a marquee game that garners attention and adds to the intensity of the season.

    3. Road Games

The Bulldogs have difficult road games, including a matchup against Tennessee. Playing away at strong venues poses unique challenges, impacting performance and overall win-loss potential.

    4. Depth of Schedule

The SEC is characterized by its overall depth, and many other opponents on Georgia’s schedule will likely be competitive, as the conference is known for year-in-and-year-out being one of the toughest in college football. This adds cumulative difficulty to the schedule, as every game is critical and no opponent can be taken lightly.

    Final Word

There is plenty of pressure on Georgia and Coach Kirby Smart, but they will rise to the task.

As recent national champions, Georgia will face the challenge of being the team to beat. Opponents will approach the games with heightened motivation, making it more difficult for Georgia to replicate past successes. Overall, the combination of strong SEC opponents, critical matchups, and the challenges of road games will contribute to the toughness of the Georgia Bulldogs’ 2025 football schedule.

  • Court: Young Thug Can Visit Atlanta Sooner

    2 Min Read

Rapper Young Thug successfully petitioned for milder probation terms that will allow him to return to Atlanta much sooner that originally planned.

Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Atkins, was granted permission to visit Atlanta for two weeks at a time, up to four times per year, starting in October 2027, according to new terms set by the judge.

When Can Young Thug Come Back To Atlanta?

Young Thug can return to visit his Atlanta home starting Oct. 31, 2027, only if he does not violate his probation over the first three years.
When he does come back, those visits are limited to up to two weeks at a time, up to four times per year, on a non-consecutive basis, according to the court order.

Following a plea deal, Atkins was released from jail on Halloween 2024, which marked the end of the longest trial in Georgia history.

Video footage that night showed a dark sedan pulling off from the Fulton County jail with Young Thuginside.

As terms of his plea deal, Young Thug must also:

    • Stay away from metro Atlanta for 10 years.
    • Refrain from using any illicit drugs.
    • Avoid association with any gang paraphernalia.
    • Speak against drugs/gang violence four times a year.

Many people, including Young Thug’s father, did not agree with the state’s demand that his son stay away from Atlanta, effectively banning him from his hometown.

“I feel great that he’s going home, but by the same token, I wanted him to fight,” he said, referring to his son taking a plea deal. “As an adult, he has to make his own decision.”

Yes, peach cobber again! This time we’ve got to stop by Mary Mac’s in Midtown Atlanta for some sweet goodness! And to top it off, you can also get cinnamon rolls with your meal!

Here’s what one customer said about Mary Mac’s. “The environment felt like you’re going out for Sunday dinner after church. The food was phenomenal. The Cinnamon rolls were soft and perfect, especially since there was no icing on them. We had the fried catfish and fried chicken and they were cooked to the perfect crunch. And the peach cobbler was our favorite dessert. Definitely brought me back to my home roots. A must try if you are visiting Atlanta.”

    Last Word

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, there are a select few places you can go in Atlanta to satisfy your needs.

Three words for you: Mmm, mmm, mmm. That’s what good dessert tastes like. If you’re ever in the mood for something sweet, tart and tasty, Atlanta has what you need.

Desserts are great, but they’re not the most healthy of snacks for you.

The ATL has other cool eateries as well. If you’re gluten-free, there’s plenty of options. Same goes for keto-friendly restaurants or Asian fare in Atlanta.
