Two of my favorites Buckhead restaurants — Gypsy Kitchen and Southern Gentleman — are poised to reopen to the public on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025.
After a brief closure in January for essential HVAC system upgrades, Gypsy Kitchen and The Southern Gentleman are set to unveil a refreshed interior featuring a brighter color palette and design enhancements that create a more inviting and contemporary atmosphere.
To celebrate the reopening, Gypsy Kitchen is offering guests a complimentary hummus and flatbread per table during the week of February 3-11.
Additionally, on Friday, February 7, the restaurant will host a Big Reveal Party, featuring passed hors d’oeuvres in the bar area, half-priced bottles of wine throughout the evening, live music from 5-8 p.m., and other surprises.
The Southern Gentleman will welcome patrons back with a special Welcome Back prix-fixe menu available from February 3-11. Priced at $40 per person, the menu includes guest favorites and a preview of upcoming spring dishes, such as Little Gem salad, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, braised short ribs, Creole-spiced redfish, pineapple-glazed pork chop, and shrimp and grits. The featured beverage is the Simply Southern old-fashioned, crafted with Southern Proper Hospitality Group’s Knob Creek Private Barrel bourbon, bacon fat-washed with candied peppercorn bacon, priced at $18.
The January closures allowed both establishments to modernize their HVAC systems, ensuring a more comfortable and climate-controlled environment for guests, especially during warmer months. Kim Fong, Southern Proper Hospitality Group’s director of art and style, also took the opportunity to update Gypsy Kitchen’s interior design, introducing softer, more feminine touches to brighten the space.
Chris Hadermann, Southern Proper Hospitality Group managing partner and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the updates, stating, “Our team has spent the past few weeks immersed in a design refresh for Gypsy Kitchen. While it was a small window of time, that focused attention will significantly impact the atmosphere and guest experience.”
Gypsy Kitchen is located in Buckhead Village at 3035 Peachtree Road, NE. For more information, call 404-939-9840 or visit gk-atl.com.
The Southern Gentleman is situated at the same address. Reservations can be made online or by calling 404-939-9845. To learn more, visit thesoutherngentlemanatl.com.

Atlanta’s nightlife is one of the most vibrant and storied in the Southeast. That’s not necessarily the case anymore, even though party people don’t dance like they used to.
The best Atlanta nightclubs, like ChitChat, used to be just outside Atlanta, in enclaves around the city. When you dressed up for the club, it was with the understanding that it was an event.
Where Do Singles Go In Atlanta?
Single people flock to many of the clubs in Midtown Atlanta. The establishments range from reggae clubs to English-style pubs with loud music and flowing drinks.
But as urban sprawl continued and neighborhoods grew more discerning about what they wanted in their communities, things slowly changed.
Here Are The Hottest Clubs In Atlanta
Speaking of Buckhead, in the 1990s, the city allowed Buckhead Village to turn into a lively nightlife mecca with clubs like Tongue & Groove and the original Havana Club. Now, the best Atlanta nightclubs can be found in just about every quandrant of the city, east Atlanta, the westside, Buckhead and even in the suburbs.

Here’s what one visitor says about Embr Lounge. “Randomly stumbled in after dinner next door on a Saturday night for the open bar offer. $12 for women & $22 for men, not terrible for El Jimador and house vodka. The ambiance is sophisticated, gives very grown & sexy vibes, the simulated fire is a great touch. We arrived early so there wasnt a lot of people but the bartenders were accommodating. They do taco Tuesday specials so I will be back to try again. My only gripe with this area is parking- it is always crowded and the parking lots are in poor condition.”
MJQ Concourse
50 Lower Alabama St Underground, Suite 001, Atlanta, GA 30303
MJQ is Midtown’s most famous and dank nightclub, known for bringing in some of the most highly regarded DJs from across the world to this humble spot located behind Chipotle just off Ponce de Leon Avenue. Come for the music, stay for the dankness.
One Google reviewer says: “My favorite club, I always end up here every weekend. The cover is usually minimal and I dig the grimy underground vibe. Yes, some nights the music is a bit off(rare) but the people there are fun and the patio out back has a great vibe. I’ve met alot of cool people there that end up partying with me the rest of the night. The girl DJ they put in the back room is mad funky, love her.”

Had been there in at seat since 730 and the time is now 1100pm . an employee of the club came and moved the sofa and table we were using…basically evicted us from the area with no warning. Told the sofa was not suppose to be there..we only sat where we were asked to. The manager did not offer anything to help ease the move. Selecting the ideal mattress is crucial for achieving restful sleep. Key considerations include your sleeping position, body type, and personal comfort preferences. Prioritizing these factors ensures you choose a mattress that meets your specific needs, enhancing your overall sleep quality.
This article is going to show you some of the top mattresses for getting a good night’s sleep. All of these items are available to purchase online.
Here Are The Best Mattresses For Good Sleep In 2025
We will specifically discuss the following types of mattresses:
Mattresses are one of those items that customers have very little middle ground about. They either love them — meaning they got great sleep — or they hate them (they didn’t sleep at all).
Best Mattresses Overall
So, the following products we’ll showcase have features that many customers enjoy and have found to be valuable.
Side sleepers quite literally put themselves in an untenable position. Not only does the habit of sleeping on your side, but uneven strain on a mattress, but it just hurts the body after a while.
If you want a mattress that’s best for side sleepers, you need to consider those with contouring features.
If back pain is a problem of yours, many mattresses may contribute to the issue rather than it solve it, unfortunately. But there are some brands that work better than others.
Here are the best mattresses to relieve back pain.
The key to getting good sleep is to follow several good practices that are tried and proven. Let’s get into it:
Listen to Your Body
If you wake up with stiffness, soreness, or pain, especially in your lower back or neck, your mattress or sleeping position may need to be adjusted. Experiment with different sleeping positions, pillow placements, or even a different mattress until you find what works best for you.
Practice Good Sleep Hygiene
Good sleeping posture should be paired with good sleep habits. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule, limit screen time before bed, and create a relaxing environment conducive to restful sleep.
Ensure Proper Mattress Support
Firmness: The right firmness ensures that your body is supported in a way that maintains natural alignment. A mattress that is too soft can cause your spine to curve unnaturally, while one that is too firm can create pressure points.
Durability: Check your mattress’s condition. Over time, mattresses can sag, losing their ability to provide proper support. If your mattress is sagging, it may be time for a replacement.
Final Words
Mattress comfort can take many forms, from the bounce of the top layer to the sturdy fit of the bottom layer. A good mattress can be of great quality yet affordable.
Few things are as enjoyable and comforting as resting on a good mattress after a long day’s work. Do you have such a comforting mattress? If not, you can surely get one.
Although once you get to sleep, it’s been said that a good mattress is a dream, one thing we know for sure is that you pay for what you get. Taking the time to research top mattresses, especially those that fit your particular condition whether it’s back pain or you’re a side sleeper, is worth it. We hope that you’ve found a mattress that helps you to rest comfortably. Sleep tight.
When considering home renovations, it’s important to recognize that some improvements can significantly enhance your home’s value, while others may not. For instance, installing a swimming pool in a flood-prone area could be detrimental.
Conversely, strategic upgrades like kitchen remodels, bathroom enhancements, or adding energy-efficient features can boost your home’s worth. Thoughtful planning ensures that your investments yield positive returns.
If you’re putting in manufactured stone veneer, you could get just about all of your money back. For other projects, your return will be in the 60-70% range.
Legendary nightclub MJQ held its grand opening on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025 in its new digs in downtown Atlanta. The new MJQ is now situated in Underground Atlanta.
MJQ Concourse, a staple of Atlanta’s nightlife since 1997, has relocated from its long-standing Ponce de Leon Avenue location to Underground Atlanta. The club’s new venue occupies the former Dante’s Down the Hatch space, which had been vacant since 1999.
On social media, club-goers shared photos of the new MJQ and the establishment promoted event specials and free entry nights.
In addition to the main dancefloor, the new MJQ has the “House Cafe,” which is a backroom that provides soulful sounds of disco funk house vibes that will have you lost in the music under the red sparkles on the dance floor.
City officials have been trying to revitalize Underground Atlanta for several years now after key tenants vacated the area.
The relocation aims to preserve MJQ’s iconic underground atmosphere while introducing patrons to a revitalized setting.
Where Is MJQ Located?
The new MJQ Concourse is located at 50 Lower Alabama Street in Downtown Atlanta. The club is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Why Is Atlanta a Top Real Estate Market?
Atlanta is considered a top real estate market due to several factors that have been at play for the last few decades:
Economic Growth: The city’s robust economy, driven by sectors such as information technology, film and television production, and a growing tech industry, attracts businesses and professionals alike. This economic vitality fuels demand for both residential and commercial properties.
Population Influx: Atlanta continues to experience significant population growth, with many individuals relocating to the city for its employment opportunities and vibrant culture. This influx contributes to a strong demand in the housing market.
Affordability: Despite rising home prices, Atlanta maintains a more manageable cost of living compared to other major U.S. cities. This relative affordability makes it attractive to both homebuyers and investors.
Rental Market Strength: The city boasts a robust rental market, driven by a transient population and a consistent influx of students and professionals. This dynamic supports strong rental demand, benefiting property investors.
Market Resilience: Atlanta’s housing market has demonstrated resilience, with home prices appreciating at a normalized rate of about 3-6% annually. This steady growth indicates a healthy and stable market.
Final Word
Atlanta has always been a region known for thebest real estate markets, with relatively cheap housing in every quadrant of the city. Large backyards, manicured parcels and strong neighborhoods with ample dining amenities make it one of the top places for transplants.

From time to time, we love to eat with a crowd, but there’s something special about a meal all to yourself. Atlanta, Georgia, has many such places.
This article will show you some of the best places in Atlanta to eat by yourself.
Eating alone can be good for you. A prominent French study found that a lonesome dining experience is influenced by a variety of social and cultural environments such as fast food cultures, work and life environments, and the scope of public health nutrition programs.
Dining alone allows you to indulge in your personal food preferences without having to compromise with others, whether it’s choosing your favorite cuisine or treating yourself to a special meal.
Solo dining can also save you big money as you don’t have to splurge on another person.
It can also provide a chance to people-watch or observe your surroundings, offering a different perspective on the restaurant and its ambiance.
Eating alone gives you the freedom to choose when and where to dine without having to coordinate with others’ schedules or preferences, offering flexibility in your dining experience.

Atlanta is a foodie’s paradise for more reasons than one. For starters (no pun intended) Hot chicken is the rage in Atlanta’s dining scene right now. But so are chicken and waffles.
Fast-casual is also on trend right now in metro Atlanta restaurants. The concept involves mixing the quick accessibility of fast food with the casual dining experience. Food in Atlanta is also adapting to the various tastes of the migrants that come here to live.
Patrons typically order off a menu board like they would at a burger joint, but the convenience of sitting down to leisurely enjoy their food has made the segment a popular one with the restaurant industry.
