Let’s look at each of the main characters and their legacies.Michelle PFeiffer As Betty Ford
First Lady Betty Ford was known as one of the most outspoken first ladies that have ever been in the White House. Her liberal stances on many social issues caused some stinging rebukes from Republicans despite her husband’s attempts to appear as a moderate.Mrs. Ford also helped raise awareness for women’s issues like breast cancer after she underwent a mastectomy in 1974. She also did a lot to make treatment for drug abuse more acceptable among the public, rather than a strictly criminal issue.Gillian Anderson As Eleanor Roosevelt
For much of her time in the White House, Eleanor Roosevelt was seen as a controversial figure, mainly for her unwavering support of civil rights for black Americans. She also knew how to charm the media outlets in the day. She was adept at giving regular news conferences, she wrote a magazine column and even hosted a radio show.Viola Davis As Michelle Obama

Are you ready for Black Panther 2 and the other superhero movies coming soon? Marvel Studios has previewed its production schedule through the next couple years, with many of the big-name projects expected to be filmed in Atlanta.
Disney and its streaming service Disney+ figures to play a key role in many of the productions, which have already been spotted filming around Atlanta.
Disney’s plans also involve Fox and Pixar, but a whole lot of Marvel. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic happened, pushing back mostly everything.
To understand how production schedules coincide with Atlanta, we first have to gather a keen knowledge of Marvel’s “Phase 4.”
What Is Marvel’s Phase 4?
Marvel’s Phase 4 refers to all of the Marvel Studios productions that will be released in the three-year period beginning with 2021 and ending in 2023.
Here’s a video Marvel Studios released on May 3 that previews what’s coming down the pike over the next couple years.
Phase 4 began on the small screen with the release of WandaVision and will start on the big screen with Black Widow in summer 2021.
Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 comes on the heels of the most successful run in the company’s history: Phase 3. That phase saw such tentpole titles of Endgame, Thor: Ragnorok, Captain American: Civil War and Black Panther.
Here’s What To Know About Marvel Production Dates In Atlanta
The success of WandaVision has shown Disney that it can score with a tentpole title in the streaming space, but the cinematic experience continues to be the ideal way to show a movie.
The beloved Marvel franchise was perhaps hardest hit because many of the movies are dependent on others. We’ll have to see how it pans out.
Marvel Releases 4-Year Production Schedule
Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk all have been mentioned as future Marvel projects, but nothing has been confirmed.
Navigation: Marvel Movie Productions
Disney as well as Marvel is making a concerted effort to include more representations of people of color. And it will only get better through the years.
Right on the heels of WandaVision, the MCU jumps right back into the action with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which follows the events in Endgame.
The majority of the scenes from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were filmed in metro Atlanta, specifically at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville just outside Georgia’s largest city.
If you remember, 2020 was supposed to kick off with “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” But it, like most titles, was delayed. when it does debut, it will be Marvel’s first Asian-American led superhero film.
With more than 700 movie and TV projects just in the last few years, the film industry has generated more than $9 billion for the state of Georgia. These Marvel Movies Are Coming Out In 2021

Disney was rolling out an ambitious movie production schedule in Atlanta and other parts of Georgia when the coronavirus pandemic occurred. The global health crisis hit the movie industry hard.
All of the early deadlines were pushed back and Disney had to reschedule them. As vaccinations continue to roll out, Georgia’s movie industry hopes to creep back to normalcy.

Production on the sequel to Black Panther will remain in Georgia, according to its director.Ryan Coogler penned a letter about Georgia’s recent passing of restrictive voting laws. In the article, which was published on several entertainment websites, Coogler acknowledges the destruction that Georgia’s recently passed voting laws could do to local businesses.
Black Panther 2 Director Ryan Coogler Says Production Will Remain In Georgia
Here is Coogler’s statement, according to Deadline.
The fight for full enfranchisement is fundamental to the African-American struggle in this country and to this country’s claim to functioning democracy. As an African-American, and as a citizen, I oppose all attempts, explicit and otherwise, to shrink the electorate and reduce access to the ballot. I say this as I return to Georgia, a state that holds a special place in my heart. I lived in Atlanta for eight months while filming my last movie. I have long looked forward to returning. But, when I was informed of the passage of SB202 in the state, and its ramifications for the state’s voters, I was profoundly disappointed.
But that’s also the reason why Coogler decided to keep production of Black Panther 2 in the Peach State.“Many of the people employed by [Black Panther 2], including all the local vendors and businesses we engage, are the very same people who will bear the brunt of SB202,” Coogler wrote.“Our film is staying in Georgia,” Coogler added. “Additionally, I have made a personal commitment to raise awareness about ways to help overturn this harmful bill, and continue to get educated on this matter from people on the ground. I will encourage everyone working with me to tap in with the local community directly affected by Senate Bill 202 and to leverage their influence and resources to aid in the fight for this particular and essential pillar of democracy.”
In response to the letter, political activist and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams tweeted her support of Coogler. “Thank you to Ryan Coogler and #BlackPanther2 for staying in Georgia and fighting for access to democracy. #gapol #WakandaForever

“War is hell.” That familiar phrase was reportedly first uttered by Union General Tecumseh Sherman during the Civil War. Sherman commanded more than 100,000 troops as destroyed the American South town by town in the infamous “March to the Sea.”
Did You Know About The Slave Auction House In Atlanta?
One of the cities in his wake was Atlanta, then a teetering rail town. There are photographs that exist of much of the carnage, thanks to official Union photographer George N. Barnard, who was embedded with the soldiers.
In 1866, Barnard published one of the most important war photography projects of all time, “Photographic Views of Sherman’s Campaign.”
Much of Atlanta’s landscape was part of Sherman’s activities. As Georgia Tech’s historical account observes, “In anticipation of advancing Union troops in the summer of 1864, several forts were built on what is now Georgia Tech land. Seen as strategically high ground, land along the southern edge of campus was cleared and fortified by the Confederacy to prevent direct frontal attacks on the city.”
One of the more iconic pictures taken during Sherman’s invasion of Atlanta shows a structure on Whitehall Street used to hold slave auctions all but abandoned. Whitehall Street today is in the middle of a den of old, abandoned buildings, open and wild fields and liquor stores.
