By the time we are done with our beer, our food is ready! Then we grab a six pack and hit the beltline! We live close so it’s such a treat to have a place like this so we can avoid grocery stores and gas stations. Much cooler vibes here.”

Keenan was very attentive in making sure all guests were taken care of, If I lived closer I’d stop by multiple times a week! They occasionally have a live DJ and usually have games playing on the TV. Atlanta’s downtown district is once again attracting residents, reversing decades of sprawl that saw families flock to the suburbs. Georgia’s largest city leads the nation in downtown apartment construction, according to a new report.

StorageCafe.com’s report shows that  downtowns are back in vogue again, with Atlanta leading the way. The site looked at the downtown areas of the country’s 100 largest cities and ranked them based on the number of multifamily units built over the past decade.

How To Afford An Apartment In Atlanta

You already know that Atlanta apartment market is one of the most expensive in the country. The average rent in Atlanta is more than $1,800 a month. How can you afford rent?

    Get A High-Paying Job

You need to have a salary that meets the median income across the Atlanta metro area. If you can switch to a higher-paying job, now is the time to do that.

Work flexibility is at an all-time high as many employers are hiring remote workers right now. Here are some insightful steps on how to find a job in Atlanta.

    Get A Roommate

Having a roommate will not only allow you to save more of your money, but it also automatically gives you some company for lonely nights. As long as you get along, it could be great.

The key to finding a good roommate is to screen properly.

Some great places to find a roommate include:

    Ask For A Cheaper Unit

Many apartments will only show you their more expensive one-, or two-, or three-bedroom apartments, but if you want to stay there and save money at the same time, you need to ask the leasing agent for their least expensive options.

See if you can haggle them on the price by promising to pay the first six months of the rent or another concession.

Apartments will typically have apartments that need a paint job or other cosmetic fix that they may rent you if they’re in a hurry. It won’t hate to ask.

    Final Word

The Atlanta construction boom hasn’t just been relegated to downtown. Places like Smyrna, Doraville and high-priced Buckhead have cranes in the sky. In fact, many of the suburban and exurban areas are seeing structures being built on what seems like a monthly basis.

What Color Should You Dye Your Hair?

    8 Min Read

If you could dye your hair another color right now, what color would it be? As the weather decides to change, this is the perfect time to switch up the hair color.

What Color Should I Dye My Hair?

If you’re considering dying your hair another color, here are some things to consider as well as what to expect and some dye colors to think about.

    In this article:

What Color Should You Dye Your Hair?

To accurately answer this question, you not only have to weigh your preferences, but you need to consider your complexion and the amount of melanin in your skin.

Whatever your natural color, the right hair dye can enhance it. Conversely, the wrong hair dye can detract from your looks.

Three things you want to consider when deciding which color to dye your hair is:

    • Will it make your face look full or gaunt?
    • Does the hue match your skin or contrast (you want it to match)
    • Do you want to it to shout or whisper?

Hair color determines a lot of things, mostly how people will view you. If you want something that looks natural, a dimmer hue is usually best. If you want startled attention, an arresting color will do the job.

    Here’s what you should do:

    • Dye a synthetic wig a darker color so you can see how it looks on you. If you like, go with it. If not, adjust the dye on another wig.
    • Do a strand test, which comes with most hair color boxes. That way, you’ll know how your hair will look.

    How To Dye Your Hair

How to dye your hair at home - steps

If you want to dye your own hair, don’t think it’s too hard a task to complete. You got this. All you have to do is remember to follow the instructions.

That means you’re not allowed to make up colors or mix them. Seriously, don’t think you can combine different shades and it will turn out fine! Only professionals should try this.

When you buy your dye color, do the strand test to see how it looks on you and rock with that.

Here’s how to dye your hair.

    • Follow the instructions on the bottle or box
    • You’ll need a medium sized brush to dye your hair with
    • Don a pair of gloves or you can use old plastic grocery bags (yes , they worked great)
    • Protect your clothes by wearing a covering over your shoulders, even if it’s a towel. It may also be a good idea to put plastic on the floor to make sure no dye is splashed there.
    • Before you start the application, it’s a good idea to line your scalp with a thin line of Vaseline or even some lotion. This way, you won’t get any hard-to-remove dye on your hairline.
    • Make sure your hair is dry. If it’s wet the dye won’t take as much

Once you’ve done all of that, it’s time to dye your hair.

Grab the dye bottle and squire the contents into a bowl or as I mentioned before, an old plastic grocery bag. You can double or triple bag it for security.

Dab your brush into the dye and gently paint your hair, starting with the roots. Apply a few applications before moving out.

Now it’s time to come back with a comb. Again, you want to use broad, gentle strokes to distribute the dye evenly.

Once your hair is completely covered in dye, grab a mirror and look for any missed spots. Make sure you look all around your head.

Once you’re satisfied, you’ll want to put on a disposable shower cap to lock in the color.

How Long Should You Leave Dye In Your Hair?

how to dye your hair at home

Hair dye shouldn’t be left in your hair for hours and hours. In fact, anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes should be sufficient for lasting color.

The chemicals will stick to your follicles in less than an hour. After that, it’s all about maintenance. That means:

    • Avoid direct sunlight
    • Don’t get it wet immediately
    • Stay away from harsh shampoos

How To Remove Hair Dye Off Skin

As perfect as we try to be when handling dye, inevitably it gets on things that it shouldn’t.

One way to remove hair dye on your skin is to attack it with alcohol and soap. Once you dab some on a towel, gently apply it to the affected skin in a circular motion. The more lather, the better.

For darker areas, you might want to try baking soda and water. Again, wiping it gently in a circular motion.

One way to avoid hair dye sticking to you is to wet your skin before you begin. That means your fingers, hands as well as parts of your face and shoulders.

How To Get Married In Atlanta In 4 Steps

    3 Min Read

Are you’re thinking about getting married in Atlanta, you’ve got a joyous celebration ahead of you.

There are some key steps you need to take to get hitched in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before you can get lawfully married, you’ll need a record, a marriage license.

How Much Does It Cost To Get Married In Georgia?

In Georgia, marriage licenses cost $56, but you can get it reduced if you take a premarital education course.

We’ll get into exactly what you need to do in this article. Let’s get started…

How To Get Married In Atlanta In 4 steps

Like all states, Georgia has age requirements before you can get married. Both parties need to be:

    • at least 18 years old
    • single
    • Have legal identification i.e. driver’s license, passport or birth certificate

    1. Fill Out The Application

Just like a job, you’re going to need to fill out an application for a marriage license before you get married.

The application will include a spot for you to add all your personal information, like your name, your spouse’s name, date of birth, address, etc.

Here is the Atlanta marriage license application.

If you want to fill it out in person, you can go to the Fulton County Probate Court at 136 Pryor Street in Suite C-230 in Atlanta.

The hours for you to apply for a marriage license is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also call (404) 613-4583 or (404) 612-4640.

If you’ve been married before you may be expected to present additional documents such as:

    •  A divorce decree
    • or death certificate

Unlike some states and jurisdictions, the Fulton Country Probate Court doesn’t require blood tests.

    2. Pay The Marriage Fee

Yes, marriage costs money before you’re even in the marital union.

In Atlanta, the marriage license fee is $56. If you have enrolled and completed a premarital education program, you can get your marriage license fee reduced to $16.

    3. Get Somebody To Conduct The Wedding

Here’s when you need someone to give you away. You don’t have to get a justice and the peace to do your marriage in Atlanta, you can reach out to any “authorized officiant” i.e. preacher, pastor or clergy to do your wedding.

If you don’t have a pastor to give you away, you can find a list of authorized judges online at Atlanta Marriage License.

    4. Get Married In Atlanta

No doubt you’re planning a beautiful wedding. After the ceremony, the marriage license you and your spouse signed is sent to the Fulton County Probate Court in Atlanta. That’s when you’ll get your marriage certificate from Probate Court.

Additional certified copies cost $10. You must provide our own stamps.

And that’s it! Four steps to marital bless in Atlanta!
