Producers for the Fox TV series “The Gifted” are looking to cast new faces as mutants on Tuesday, July 2, 2018, AtlantaFi has learned.
“The Gifted” is a science fiction / fantasy series rooted in the X-Men pantheon. The show is about a group of young people discovered to be mutants.
The series stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White.

- SPFX MUTANTS: Now casting for MEN & WOMEN over the age of 18, any ethnicity, to portray mutants. No visible tattoos. MUST be comfortable with prosthetics and SPFX makeup (no skin allergies or sensitivities whatsoever). Men MUST be clean shaven or willing to shave their face.

Ayesha Curry and the producer of MasterChef are searching in Atlanta and other cities for talented families of three or more to go head-to-head in cooking challenges inspired by real home cooking and family food traditions.
If you think Grandma’s chitlins will make you slap somebody’s mama (not yours) then this show is for you. Families that are chosen get to compete for $100,000.
Speaking of Chef Curry, Ayesha Curry will be the host and executive producer.

On July 1, 2018, Georgia is set to enact a new law that would make it a crime for motorists to hold their cell phones in their hands. Recent statistics show that nearly 70% of traffic accidents in the state are due to distracted drivers mostly using cell phones.
As a public service, here’s what’s allowed and not allowed under the Hands-Free Georgia Act, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Not Allowed
*Holding or supporting, with any part of the body, a wireless telecommunications device or stand-alone electronic device (for example, an iPod).
*Writing, sending or reading any text-based communication, including a text message, instant message, e-mail or internet data while holding your device.
*Watching a video or movie other than watching data related to the navigation of your vehicle (i.e., your mapping app or GPS screen).
*Recording a video.
Allowed
*Speaking or texting while using hands-free technology.
*Using a GPS system or mapping app.
*Wearing and using a smart watch.
*Using an earpiece to talk on the phone.
*Using radios, CB radios, CB radio hybrids, commercial two-way radios, subscription-based emergency communication devices, prescribed medical devices, amateur or ham radios and “in-vehicle security, navigation or remote diagnostics” systems.

Atlanta’s only urban cider party this week is happening Thursday, July 28, 2018 at 6:30-8:30pm (Because you know ATL be havin’ cider parties now).
This week, there’s something called Drunk Cider School (no, really) and it’s poppin’.
The cost of admission is $39, but you’ll get to party with cooks and learn the art of the masters. The cooks teams up with
@UrbanTreeCider for a fun night of sips & schoolin’.The event will consist of six ciders & lite snacks to compliment them. There will also be a brief history of global cider consumption and a discussion on the basics of cider production.
