End of an era. The Chick-fil-A inside Greenbriar Mall is shutting its doors for good. The restaurant has set its last day for Saturday, May 202, 2023.
After that, to get a great chicken sandwich in Atlanta, you’re going to have to go elsewhere. The Greenbriar location is tied to Atlanta history as well as that of the famous eatery.
Chick-fil-A’s History In Atlanta
Chick-fil-A burst on the scene when S. Truett Cathy, a scrappy entrepreneur with an affinity for chicken breast, opened a small eatery in 1967 in Greenbriar Mall. The restaurant drew steady crowds for its boneless chicken breast served on a toasted, buttery bun with two pickle chips.
A few miles away, Truett’s brother, Ben, opened an Atlanta diner known as The Dwarf Grill (later renamed The Dwarf House) in Hapeville, Georgia, just outside Atlanta.
Since those early years, Chick-fil-A has grown into one of the best fast-food restaurants in America. It has always maintained its Greenbriar outpost, but that is no longer the case.
A Twitter user shared a sign posted outside the restaurant in Greenbriar in southwest Atlanta.
Greenbriar Mall Chick-Fil-A is DEFINITELY closing.
The mall will basically be a Rainbow, sneakers and jewelry stores. Basically an indoor flea market.

Johns Creek, Georgia will be the location of the first Capital Tacos restaurant in the Peach State. The Florida-based company announced earlier that it was making a major expansion in Georgia.

The eatery specializes in a Tex-Mex cuisine, which they take seriously.
Here is what it says on the restaurant’s website: “Every item on our menu is made from scratch and grilled up to order. From starters to munch while you wait, to award-winning flavor profiles and inventive meals that simply don’t follow the rules.”
Capital Tacos Expands In Metro Atlanta
Launched in Land-O-Lakes, Florida, Capital Tacos has taken its time with expansion plans. After the pandemic subsided, the eatery figured the time was right.

Now it’s Atlanta’s turn to experience food on a “Capital” level.

Pizza is going high-tech with the entry of PizzaForno in the Atlanta market. Aiming to be one of the best pizza places in Atlanta, the company, known as North America’s first 24/7 automated pizzeria, is expanding into Georgia.

When Is PizzaForno Opening In Buckhead?
A Grand Opening event will take place at the 3861 Roswell Road location in Atlanta’s popular Buckhead neighborhood on Saturday, May 6.
The opening event is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature free pizza, family-friendly music, games, freebies and giveaways. Prizes will be given for games and an “Enter to Win” contest drawing will be held for two lucky winners to win free pizza for an entire year.
The three entrepreneurs responsible for this expansion are business partners Tyler Young, Paul Nair and Mick Patel. Young has always had a passion for the restaurant industry, and started running restaurants when he was in college. Paul is the founder and owner of Savi Provisions, a neighborhood spot for organic foods, wine, spirits, and sandwiches. The trio are passionate about bringing this dining option to the area, and plan to install units in universities, hospitals and anywhere else that people would benefit from convenient, 24/7 access to their product. While they plan to open five units throughout the year, they hope to bring a total of 50 to the area.

When it’s date night in Atlanta, where you take the person you care to wine and dine is something you need to get right.
In this article, we’ll go over the best restaurants in Atlanta to take a date.
The most romantic restaurants in Atlanta all have top-notch wait staffs, excellent food and intimate settings. Date night restaurants in Atlanta are not scarce, but relatively few at the same time.
Here Are The Best Atlanta Restaurants For Date Night
Here are the best date night restaurants in Atlanta:
2 Urban Licks
820 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30306

2 Urban Licks is a great date night restaurant for a number of reasons: It’s a chi chi spot, the drinks are amazing and it’s a people-watching place.
Here is what one Google reviewer says about 2 Urban Licks: “It was a great casual place to celebrate our anniversary! Food was great! Beware though, the quantities are large! We decided to share 3 apps and an entree…even that was too much food.”
Coalition Food & Beverage

Coalition Food and Beverage is spread across 3,331-square-feet of space and seats approximately 150 diners, including a bar, outdoor dining and private dining.
While not as stiff and contemporary-looking as many of the restaurants you’d see in Midtown, Coalition at 50 Canton Street in Alpharetta strives for a more urban aesthetic and community feel.
White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails
270 Peachtree St NW, 100, Atlanta, GA 30303 (404) 524-7200

Here’s what one Google reviewer says about White Oak Kitchen: “I was staying in a hotel adjacent to this restaurant and went in for a late night bite and drink with my wife. We just wanted an appetizer and drinks but, what a creative selection, it was hard to choose just a few things. We got some wine and a couple of cocktails and the charred broccoli and carrots.”
Paschal’s
180 Northside Dr SW #B, Atlanta, GA 30313
Intl Airport, Concourse B, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, N Terminal Rd Suite T120, Atlanta, GA 30320

Known as the kitchen of the civil rights movement, Paschals has had the most continuous success of any soul food joint in the city.
Founded by the Paschal brothers, James and Robert in 1947, this CastleberryHill eatery has long enjoyed strong support from Atlanta’s black community. Since 1947, James and Robert Paschal, The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph David Abernathy and Hosea Williams all planned protests in the back room while collard greens and corn bread baked only feet away from them. Today, Elby Marshall Slack is the only original member of the staff still there. Paschal’s has morphed into a mid-upscale eatery with a cosmopolitan clientele. But it still has some of the meanest soul food in the ATL. Best dishes include Gulf shrimp, chicken and Andouille as well as the Caribbean Fish Tacos.
Sweet Auburn Seafood
171 Auburn Ave NE P, Atlanta, GA 30303

Venture down Auburn Avenue and you’ll run right into an oasis of seafood, courtesy of Sweet Auburn Seafood, the largest restaurant in the corridor. Owner Paul Williams cut his teeth in the restaurant industry as a Wendy’s franchisee for more than two decades. When he opened Sweet Auburn Seafood, he wanted it to pay homage to the area’s rich African-American past.
Menu favorites include the shrimp and grits and biscuit-size crab cakes.
The Consulate
10 10th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309

Interior designer Douglas Hines and his wife Mei Lin, a chef with global influences, teamed up to open The Consulate in 2016 in Midtown. Before that, the Atlanta power couple opened Honey Bubble Tea in Poncey-Highland.
If you want to experience different cultures through food, this couple has you covered. They plan to open as many as eight restaurants across the city.
Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours
1133 Huff Rd NW #D, Atlanta, GA 30318

This relatively new eatery has quickly stolen the hearts of soul food lovers in the city. Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours is run by Executive Chef and Owner Deborah VanTrece has become a culinary force in Atlanta. She also runs her own catering company Catering by VanTrece. Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours has become known as an eatery that offers creative versions of Southern classics such as Jack Daniels Pecan Honey Chicken Wings and Sweet Tea Baby Back Ribs. Their Blue Plate Specials are great.
