Things are almost back to normal, but not everything. That’s why you still need to stay safe, even when you’re working out. After all, not everyone has a home gym.
If you’ve started going back to the gym, you may still want to practice safety and hygiene protocols to guard against COVID-19. But how?
This article is going to lay out some easy steps you can follow to stay safe while you exercise at the gym.
How To Practice Social Distancing At The Gym
Here are some steps based on health guidelines you need if you want to stay safe in the gym amid the pandemic.
First of all, you may be subjected to new rules at many gyms. For instance, some may check your temperature to make sure it’s under 100.4, which is considered to be a fever.
Also, you may have that some group activities like basketball and spas, the swimming pool may be closed for now.
If you do decide to go to the gym here are some things to do:
1. Go To The Gym During A Time That Is Less Busy
If you can, try to go to the gym during an off-peak period. This may be early in the morning or late in the evening.
In either case, you want to choose a time where the gym is not packed with people.
2. Bring Your Own Towel And Disinfectant
If you frequent the gym before the COVID-19 pandemic, you knew that they may have already had a rigorous sanitation process. Well, now it’s been kicked up a bit.
But that’s no excuse not to take your health and hygiene in your own hands. Bring your own towel and disinfectant to the gym so you don’t have to rely on the facility’s products.
3. Wear A Face Mask
Health officials continue to tell us to wear a mask or face covering when we’re out in public. Going to the gym is no different.
Choose a mask that you can breathe in even while exercising. This will allow you to catch your breath while staying protected from droplets in the air. Here’s how to make a mask or face covering.
4. Keep Your Social Distance
Social distancing is something that will be easier if you go to the gym when not a lot of people are there, as was mentioned earlier.
If you can stay 6 feet away from the next person, you can enjoy your workout. Look for equipment and workout machines that are far away from other people relatively speaking. Here’s your social distancing guide.
5. Wipe Down Your Equipment Before And After Use
Before you get on a machine, make sure you wipe it down with a soap and water solution. Once you finish with the equipment, wipe it down again.
This is extremely important in a gym, which may have surfaces that need cleaning every few minutes because of the sweaty clientele.
Final Thought
Going to the gym doesn’t have to be a total departure from what you’re used to. But there are simply some other health measures you have to take.
Think about it: The reason why you’re going to the gym n the first place is because of your health, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.

The exact cost of membership at LA Fitness varies slightly depending on whether you have signed up under a special or not. I have a Multi-Club and multi-state membership that costs $29.99 a month.
The $29.99 membership allows you to go to multiple LA Fitnesses in your city and across the nation.
For $26.99 a month, you can get membership to a single LA Fitness.
I had to pay a $99 initiation fee for that though. For single club access, you can get a membership for about $25 a month.
History
The reason is because, if you’re like me, you need to know where you can workout, train or just play basketball around the city.
What would become LA Fitness was first named Rainbow Nautilus. It was founded by Chin Yi and Lisa Maria Novins in 1983. In Covina, just outside Los Angeles, California, the name change stuck and LA Fitness took off.
If you’re looking for a gym that has it all, LA Fitness is it!
