Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan signed the richest contract in NFL history in terms released Thursday, the team said. Ryan, or Matty Ice as he is called, will enjoy $100 million of that in guaranteed money. The five-year deal will pay him $30 million a year.

Matt has guided us to a decade of success that is unmatched in franchise history, but we all know there is more to be accomplished, and we are confident we can get that done with Matt.”
A 10-year NFL veteran, Ryan has passed for more yards in his first decade of playing than any other quarterback in league history. In 2016, Ryan won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
In 2013, Ryan signed a six-year, $103.75 million contract that was due to expire after the this season.

Oprah Winfrey’s new show “Love Is” is looking for a studio audience on May 9, AtlantaFi has learned. The show is centered around couples and what they’ve learned about each other and how they’ve stayed together.
Atlanta has become a movie mecca in recent years and Georgia has been a favorite location for TV productions since the state instituted generous tax breaks for film companies that agree to shoot locally. Projects from CBS, NBC, HBO, BET and more are slated to shoot in the metro area in 2018.

After she meets Yasir, himself unemployed and barely holding onto his dreams, Nuri changes all her opinions about what she expects from a man because she’s just found the one who is perfect for her.Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Wednesday, May 9th in Atlanta, Georgia.
Yasir is an aspiring writer-director who is down to his last two unemployment checks and lives (unhappily) with his on-again/off-again ex. But after meeting the stunning Nuri, Yasir finds a reason to alter his life and the drive to access his potential.

A new film starring Dave Bautista is casting for actors for upcoming scenes that will film on May 9 in Atlanta. The movie is about an Uber driver, Kumail Nanjiani, who pcicks up Bautista, who plays a veteran cop hot on the trail of a murderer.
The Uber driver, Stu, is then taken on a harrowing ordeal at the copy’s beckoning, according to Variety.

The Netflix hit “Stranger Things” has begun its third installment, the streaming company confirmed recently. Production has begun in metro Atlanta, as the previous two seasons.
That means you’ll be seeing a lot more casting calls for the series, which official began its work on April 20.
Back again on screen are Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Winona Ryder. But new faces will include Jake Busey and Cary Elwes.

For the first time in 30 years, a Spelman College alumnae has been chosen to give the commencement address, the school announced this week. The honors will go to Rosalind Gates Brewer (class of 1984), who serves as group president Americas and chief operating officer for Starbucks.
Brewer will talk to more than 470 graduates as thousands of their family and friends cheer them on at the ceremony on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta.

Brewer has made history in several roles over her three decades in the professional world, including being the first woman and first African American to hold the role of COO at Starbucks. She also holds the distinction of being the first woman and African-American to lead a Walmart division when she helmed the role at Sam’s Club in 2012.
She has been a regular name on the list of the world’s most powerful women by Fortune and Forbes. She also serves on the board of directors for Starbucks and chairs the Spelman College Board of Trustees.
“Rosalind Brewer is a stellar example of the Spelman woman, one who has made a significant impact not only as a business woman, but as a global citizen,” said Spelman President Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D. “She has forged a path that has led to numerous successes in corporate America and has served as an exceptional chair of the Spelman CollegeBoard of Trustees.
