Here’s the scenario: You’re driving into downtown Atlanta and you’re going about your business down Peachtree or another street, and you need a place to park: But where?
The thing you don’t want to happen is for one of those sneaky traffic ticket people to pop up out of nowhere and write you a ticket.
Here’s Where Can You Park In Atlanta Without Getting A Ticket
To prevent that from happening, we’re going to go over some areas and streets in downtown Atlanta so you can know where to park and for how long.
The City of Atlanta has more than 2,400 paid on-street parking spaces and thousands of other time-limited and residential parking spaces.
If you want to park in those busy areas in the city’s core business districts, here are your parking options:
- Public parking lots for a flat or hourly fee
- On-street metered parking spaces
Here are the different parking zones and times of enforcement
Zone Business/Government Mixed Use School/University Entertainment/Restaurant/Hospital Area Description High turnover areas around businesses and government buildings Residential and commercial buildings with no on-site parking Parking usually from students of colleges and/or universities Parking by patrons of theaters, museums, restaurants, other entertainment venues, and hospitals Enforcement Times 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. Monday-Saturday 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. Monday through Friday 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. Monday-Saturday 7 A.M. to 10 P.M. Monday-Saturday Time Limit 2 hours 3 hours 3 hours 4 hours No metered on-street parking enforcement will occur on Sundays and City exempt holidays.
City Holidays include: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day / Day After, and Christmas Day. No payment to meters is required on these days.
What To Do
For many parking spaces in downtown and Midtown, the most convenient option is to download the Parkmobile app on your Android or iPhone.
This app can find empty parking spaces for you as well as allow you to pay when you connect your credit or debit card to the app.
For free parking downtown, you’ll have to parking in the residential area just across from Mercedes-Benz Stadium or on one of the side streets off Piedmont Avenue.

The evening of Friday, Nov. 8 was a historic night in downtown Atlanta. That’s the night the FreeMarket Art Gallery opened and was christened by artists and observers.
FreeMarket Art Gallery’s inaugural exhibition titled “In This Moment” made its debut. The art show, which focuses on exploring the possibilities of life, features works from artists such as Bernadine Mortimer, Phil Harris, Cam Schott, Angie Jerez and Elliot Liss.
FreeMarket Arts Gallery Makes Heroic Debut In Downtown Atlanta
The contemporary art gallery is located on Pryor Road right in the middle of Underground Atlanta, which makes it part of the area’s re-emergence.
As the crowed swelled, AtlantaFi.com got to talk to Parsa Behnamiri and Matt Daniels, the proprietors of the art gallery.
Matt says downtown Atlanta was a deliberate choice for FreeMarket because of its cultural significance.
“South downtown Atlanta is historic,” he said. “There’s a lot of culture down here and it’s in a place that needs to be re-activated and working with WRS (the developer) has been a great opportunity for us to be a part of that movement and the re-establishment of south downtown and Underground.”
FreeMarket will be a warm and inclusive space for artists to gather and show off their creations, Parsa said.
“Our vision for FreeMarket is that it’s a space that welcomes people of all stripes in an environment where people can love and appreciate art,” Parsa added.
“We’ve been very fortunate in working with WRS (the developer) and Undeground Atlanta in finding this wonderful space right here on Pryor Road,” Parsa said.
FreeMarket also has plans to eventually become a regional and national space for contemporary art events and exhibition hub for creators.
“I can tell you that the future looks like a lot more than just exhibition openings,” Parsa says. “We’re going to be trying to create an art scene and an art culture for all Atlantans.”
Where Is FreeMarket Art Gallery Located?
The FreeMarket art space is located at 86 Pryor St. SW Atlanta, Ga. 30303. Here is a map to help you find it.

The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is making record sales once again across the nation. Go to nearly any Popeyes location and you’ll see long lines. You also may see customers berating Popeyes workers — and that has to stop.
There are other ways to handle your frustration besides making working conditions nearly unbearable for Popeyes employees trying to serve you.
5 Things to do besides yelling at a Popeyes employee over a chicken sandwich
Because the scenes have been so ugly, we wanted to show you some productive ways to handle your temper when problems or delays arrive due to the demands of the popular Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. Here’s what you can do:
1. Take a deep breath
If you think a chicken sandwich is worth your reputation, think again. Before you say something you regret, take a deep breath and think about it.
Seriously, take a chill pill and relax. It’s going to be OK.
2. Put things in perspective
Similarly, you’ll want to really consider some perspective: You’re acting out (or about it) over a Popeyes fried chicken sandwich. Then ask yourself the following…
3. Is it worth it?
If you ask yourself that question, you’ll begin to recognize that the relative worth of what you could lose if you blow up at a Popeyes worker, isn’t worth it. Not by a long shot.
It’s not worth being banned from the restaurant over something stupid. It’s not worth a visit from a security guard or a police officer who has been called because of you. It’s just not worth it.
4. Order online
If you feel yourself losing your composure because of the long line, consider ordering online. Not only can you skip a lot of people, but you can actually go to any location.
All you have to do to order online is download the Popeyes app for Android or iOS.
5. Politely ask to speak to the manager
Instead of going back and forth with a Popeyes worker, politely ask to speak to the manager about the situation. You’re more likely to get some resolution if you escalate it through the proper channels.
Oftentimes, trying to humiliate a worker is not going to go well for her or the food you’ve ordered.
Folks, remember, the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is great, but it’s not worth the disrespect being shown to employees of the restaurant.
Those employees are people, too. And you never know when what you say may tip someone over the edge. So chill out and “love that chicken from Popeyes.”

Google representatives and Georgia officials were on hand Monday as the company broke ground on their new offices in Midtown Atlanta.
The initiative is part of Google’s larger $13 billion investment in offices and data centers around the country.
Google Building New Offices In Midtown Atlanta
Google’s new Midtown offices, located at 1105 West Peachtree, are expected to open in 2022. The company will occupy five floors in the new building, which is being built by Selig Enterprises.
“We’ve been fortunate to call Georgia our home for nearly two decades, and we’re excited about our continued growth here,” said Google Atlanta Co-Site Leads Hetal Joshi Gordon and Matthew Pritchard. “We see Atlanta as a place full of potential, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, and a place that continues to attract talented people as well as fast-growing companies that are making an impact.”
We’re proud to be a part of the vibrant ecosystem and economy here, and as we grow, we remain committed to supporting the local community and deepening our engagement, from workforce development to nonprofit support to STEM education and creating economic opportunity for everyone.”
Georgia officials are encouraged that Google would choose the middle of Atlanta to stake a claim.
“That is exactly the kind of commitment from the business community we need to keep our state the best place to do business,” Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan said. “We are proud companies like Google have made a strong footprint here and look forward to their continued growth in our state.”
The event was marked by another milestone: Google announced the Google.org Impact Challenge, which will help nonprofit organizations in Georgia.
As part of the Impact Challenge, Google.org is seeking submissions from the state’s nonprofits on their most creative and innovative ideas that will help stimulate Georgia’s economy.
“Having a world class company, Google, commit to this significant expansion speaks volumes about what’s happening in Atlanta, and in particular, Midtown,” said Steve Selig, President and Chairman of Selig Enterprises. “We are grateful Google has selected Selig as a partner, and our signature development, 1105 West Peachtree, as their new Atlanta home.”
Google has over 40 greater-Atlanta nonprofits in their Grow with Google partner program who have helped train hundreds of Atlanta small businesses and job seekers using free Grow with Google curriculum.
