Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker Announce New Atlanta Restaurant

Atlanta reality TV star couple and entrepreneurs Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are expanding their restaurant business. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars already have a hit with their Old Lady Gang restaurants. Now, they’re starting a new venture.
Tucker announced a new restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood, which is named after their daughter. Will it become one of the best steakhouses in Atlanta? That remains to be seen.

On Instagram, Tucker said, “I live in Southwest Atlanta and always asked why we don’t have certain restaurants in our area (Black Area). But I’m not asking any more [sic]! I will build what we want and what we need in our communities! They better not let me figure out how to build my own grocery store!”

Tucker has been very open about the reason why he wanted to open Blaze Seafood and Steakhouse.

“As you may know, we live on the Southside of Atlanta, so my thoughts were, we need places to go on our side of town.”

“We’re starting Blaze Steak and Seafood, where you can come and get some crab legs, shrimp, boiled oysters, kind of like that New Orleans-style thing,” Tucker goes on to say. “Just some good hearty food. It’s named after our daughter. With the social distancing, we don’t know what’s going to happen as far as capacity, but we’re going to make it nice. We’re going to make it a fun establishment and we’re hoping for the best.”

Atlanta has a handful of top black grocery stores, but could always use more, especially in the underprivileged communities.

There’s no word so far on where Blaze Steak & Seafood will be located. But it’s not the first time, an Atlanta celebrity opened a restaurant in the name of their child.

Way back in the late 1990s, Sean “Puffy” Combs opened Justin’s on Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Justin is the name of one of his sons.
