Beauty in Black Season 4 Starts Production in Atlanta

It’s official. Netflix announced on October 21, 2026, that production has officially begun on Season 4 of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black in Atlanta, Georgia.

The hit drama returns to Tyler Perry Studios for its fourth season, continuing the saga of the powerful and dysfunctional Bellarie family.

Tyler Perry Welcomes Back Crew for Beauty in Black Season 4

Creator, writer, director, and executive producer Tyler Perry welcomed the news, stating: “Beauty in Black is back for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished. There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”

Season 4 picks up in the bloody aftermath of Season 3’s explosive finale. That season ended with a violent shootout at Rain’s club launched by Jules to avenge his son, while the Bellarie brothers Norman and Horace shot each other, leaving both their fates unresolved. The survival of central characters Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and Mallory (Crystle Stewart) was also left unconfirmed.

The official logline for the new season reads: “In the bloody aftermath of a devastating attack that leaves fates uncertain, the fight for control of the Bellarie empire ignites a ruthless battle of revenge, betrayal, and hostile takeovers. As hidden motives surface, marriages unravel, and power plays escalate, the Bellaries must settle old scores, protect what’s theirs, or risk losing everything in a war where not everyone will survive.”

Netflix has underscored the high stakes with a pointed note: “Survival is not guaranteed. Cast details to be revealed at a later date.” This suggests that some major characters from the previous season may not return.

Producers Angi Bones and Tony Strickland continue to produce for Tyler Perry Studios. The series joins a busy slate of Netflix projects filming in Atlanta, including Perry’s Where There’s Smoke and Give Me Some Sugah, as well as A Different World Season 1, Scooby-Doo: Origins, Stranger Things, His & Hers, and All the Sinners Bleed.

Beauty in Black has been a consistent global performer for the streamer. Season 1 spent seven weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 28 countries; Season 2 spent six weeks in the Top 10 and hit No. 1 in 17 countries; and Season 3 spent four weeks in the Top 10, ranking No. 1 in 22 countries.

No premiere date or full cast list has been announced yet. The renewal for Season 4 came as a surprise earlier in 2026 after Netflix had previously positioned Season 3 as the series finale, only to reverse course following strong audience numbers.

Fans can expect more of the high-stakes family drama, power struggles, and twists that have defined the series as cameras roll in Atlanta. Additional details on the season are expected in the coming months.
