Atlanta Casting Call: Beyond the Gates – How To Submit

    3 Min Read

Atlanta, we’re looking for you. As Beyond the Gates heads into a new season, CAB Castings is accepting submissions from new background actors who have not previously worked on the CBS daytime series.

The open call is an invitation to bring new faces into the show’s world — not a general recast of people already on file.

Atlanta Casting Call: Beyond the Gates — What To Know

If you have already worked on Beyond the Gates, you do not need to apply again. CAB Castings already has your information and will continue to consider you for appropriate background roles throughout the season.

This call is specifically for new talent.

    Who They’re Looking For

CAB Castings is seeking professional, dependable, and flexible people who understand the commitment required on a daytime television series.

    Current priorities include:

    Waitstaff and bartending experience
People with real experience as bartenders, servers, waitstaff, or in upscale hospitality.

    Formal and upscale wardrobe
People who own a range of polished, formal clothing that fits the affluent world of the show.

    Distinctive and character looks
Interesting, specific looks that can help fill out different environments on screen.

People of all backgrounds, ages, genders, body types, and appearances are encouraged to submit. Casting will still be driven by what each scene actually needs.

    Where and When

Filming is in Doraville, Georgia, and surrounding areas. This is local hire only. Travel and housing are not provided.

Shoot days are generally Monday through Friday and can run 12 hours or more, so weekday availability matters.

What to Know Before You Submit

A submission is not a booking. Background actors are chosen based on the creative and production needs of each scene. Many background groups recur through the season. Once those groups are set, general submissions may stay closed until another need comes up.

If you have been waiting for a chance to work with CAB Castings on Beyond the Gates, this is the window.

    Pay

Background work is paid. Rates vary by role. Compensation and booking details are confirmed before anyone is expected to accept a job. Required fittings, when applicable, are paid according to production terms.

    How to Submit

    Email: BTGextras@cabcastings.com
    Subject line: BTG NEW FACES

    Include:

    • Full name
    • Phone number
    • Age and date of birth
    • Height
    • Current sizes (shirt, pants, dress, shoe, chest, and so on)
    • 1 current headshot
    • 2 current full-body photos
    • Acting or professional résumé, if available
    • Any waitstaff, bartending, or hospitality experience
    • Whether you own a variety of formal or upscale wardrobe

Photos should be current and accurate. Production may choose people from the photos alone, so they need to match how you look now.

If selected, CAB Castings will contact you directly about availability, pay, and booking details. Do not call or email to check on a submission.

New season. New faces. New opportunities.

  • Tamagotchi’s 30th-Anniversary Road Trip Rolls Into Mall of Georgia

Tamagotchi’s 30th-Anniversary Road Trip Rolls Into Mall of Georgia

    3 Min Read

The egg-shaped virtual pet that defined a generation of after-school caretaking is heading to Buford. As part of its eight-city USA Road Trip, Tamagotchi is bringing its 30th anniversary celebration to Mall of Georgia on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27.

The free pop-up is designed as a walk-up experience rather than a ticketed show. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. No reservations are required.

Tamagotchi’s 30th-anniversary road trip rolls into Mall of Georgia next weekend

This year’s tour is the second outing for the Tamagotchi USA Road Trip and the first built around a major milestone: 30 years of Tamagotchi worldwide.

Bandai launched the original device in Japan in 1996 and brought it to the United States the following year. Since then, more than 100 million units have been sold, and the brand has evolved from a monochrome LCD pet into a still-active lineup of devices, collectibles, and fan events.

At Mall of Georgia, visitors can expect the mix of nostalgia and hands-on play that has defined earlier stops. Official tour details list interactive games and activities, themed photo opportunities (including shots with the tour bus and dedicated backdrops), a history wall tracing three decades of Tamagotchi releases, exclusive merchandise, and a chance to browse current products.

One of the signature attractions is “Poop Sweep, IRL,” a life-size version of the classic in-game cleanup minigame. Other stops on the tour have also featured customization stations and other hands-on activities; organizers typically encourage fans to check @Tamagotchi_US for last-minute surprises at each city.

The Atlanta-area visit is the seventh of eight 2026 stops. After Mall of Georgia, the tour finishes in Memphis at Wolfchase Galleria on October 3–4. Earlier cities included Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Columbus, the Lehigh Valley, Hartford, and Raleigh. Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America brought the road trip back after last year’s inaugural tour drew more than 15,000 fans across six cities.

Tara Badie, senior director of brand strategy, has described the 2026 run as both a birthday party and a chance to meet new fans in markets the first tour missed.

That dual audience is the point. Longtime collectors can treat the weekend as a reunion: a place to compare devices, shop limited merch, and walk the history wall. First-timers — including kids who only know Tamagotchi as a parent’s childhood story — can pick up a current model, play the oversized games, and get the photos. Admission is free either way.

Mall of Georgia is at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford.

Atlanta has a lot of cool things to do and places to eat, including some of the top soul food joints and remarkable Thai food spots. Explore the city.

  • Todd Tucker claps back at Kandi Burruss

Todd Tucker Addresses Kandi Burruss After Airing Their Sex Life

    8 Min Read

Todd Tucker is trying to have it both ways. Days after his ex-wife Kandi Burruss accused him of “sensationalizing” their sex life for attention, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta producer sat down on Yung Joc & The Streetz Morning Takeover and offered something that sounded like an apology — and something that sounded like a rebuttal.

The clip spreading Thursday frames the moment simply: Tucker apologizes after revealing private details about their marriage, including that the couple had threesomes for most of their 11 years together.

Todd Tucker Addresses Kandi Burruss After Airing Their Sex Life — Then Softens the Blow On Radio

The fuller interview is more complicated. He says he never wanted a public smear campaign. He also says Burruss’s statement is “not accurate,” and that he will not accept that kind of disrespect from her camp again.

    How the latest fight started

The spark was not the radio interview. It was a trailer.

On September 14, Tucker posted promotional footage for ’Til Divorce Do Us Part, a self-produced project about his life after the split. In the clip, fellow RHOA alum Peter Thomas — Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband — asks whether Tucker and Burruss really had threesomes. Tucker does not hedge.

“We did,” he says. “I would say for most of our marriage we did.”

Thomas’s punchline — that he is “a saint” by comparison — is what made the moment travel. Within 48 hours, the quote was everywhere: People, Page Six, Us Weekly, Bravo’s Daily Dish. The marketing around Tucker’s project made the framing even sharper. Promotional copy has sold the series as the other side of Burruss’s story: “Kandi’s tour gave you one side. This is the other side. What she didn’t say. What went down behind closed doors.”

Burruss answered the next day in a statement to People. She did not deny that consensual threesomes happened. She objected to him putting them back in public after the divorce.

“A man who has already hurt me to my core is furthering the damage by choosing to sensationalize our sex life to stretch his five minutes of fame,” she said. “What consensually happens between a husband and wife in the privacy of their marriage is exactly that — private. His current behavior has only confirmed that I did the right thing by getting divorced. I Do, I Did, I’m Done!”

The last line is a callback to her one-woman show about the end of the marriage. That is part of why this fight feels circular. Both of them have already turned the divorce into content. The argument now is over who crossed the line, and by how much.

What Tucker actually said on the radio

On Thursday’s Streetz Morning Takeover appearance with Yung Joc, Mz Shyneka, and Shawty Shawty, Tucker walked through the backlash and then delivered a message aimed at Burruss.

He argued that the threesome comment was not a new confession. Burruss has talked about bringing other people into their sex life before, including on her Kandi Koated Nights platform. In Tucker’s telling, the trailer was a “normal conversation,” not a hyped tell-all. “I haven’t given out any new information,” he said. “I’m not doing a tell-all book or nothing like that. I’m just talking about my emotions and feelings as I went through a divorce.”

Then he read her statement on air and rejected it.

“That statement is not accurate,” he said. “If you’ve been talking about threesomes the whole time, how are you saying it’s private now?” He also said he is “not trying to bash her” or “hurt her.” Clips circulating from the same interview go further: Tucker says Burruss needs to fire “the whole team” over the wording, and that he will never take that kind of disrespect from her family or team again.

The apology, such as it is, comes at the end. Looking toward camera, he said he did not want any of this, would never smear her name, and would “never say nothing foul.”

“She would forever be my people. That’s it. 100%.”

He also said he would not have left the marriage. “I think we needed some work, but no. I would have never left.” He described the divorce as one of the worst experiences of his life, second only to his mother’s death, and said he is going to church and planning to start therapy. “Brothers, we got to talk. We got to get it off our chest.”

That is the version of the interview now traveling as an apology. It is less a clean “I’m sorry I said it” than a “I didn’t mean to hurt you, and I still consider you family.” For some listeners, that distinction will not matter. For others, it will be the whole story.

    The marriage they keep relitigating

Tucker and Burruss met in 2011 while he was working as a line producer on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. They got engaged in 2013 and married in April 2014 in a ceremony Bravo turned into Kandi’s Wedding. They share two children, Ace, 10, and Blaze, 6. Burruss also has daughter Riley from a previous relationship; Tucker has daughter Kaela.

Burruss announced the split on November 21, 2025, saying the decision came after “deep thought and a lot of prayer” and that her focus was peace, co-parenting, and her own growth. She later told Andy Cohen she knew the marriage was over months before the public announcement, pointing to a July 2025 incident she has not detailed. The divorce was finalized in March 2026. Reports on the settlement have described joint legal and physical custody and a lump-sum payment from Burruss to Tucker of about $426,000.

Even after the paperwork was done, they did not fully disappear from each other’s lives. In June, Burruss posted from a family vacation with Tucker and the kids. In one clip, she panned to him poolside with a Daily Prayers for Men book and joked that she never saw that version of him during nearly 12 years of marriage. “He should’ve started praying a long time ago,” she said. When a fan asked if reconciliation was coming, she shut it down: “Nah, I am not healed.”

That is the awkward backdrop to this week. They are co-parents. They are also two public figures still mining the same relationship for separate projects.

Why the “privacy” argument cut so deep

The threesome talk is not, strictly speaking, a secret in RHOA lore. Burruss has acknowledged at times that she and Tucker experimented in their marriage. She has also spent years batting away specific rumors, including a 2019 claim involving friend Shamea Morton that she denied. What changed is the timing and the packaging.

During the marriage, talking about their sex life was part of the brand. After the divorce, Burruss’s position is that consent to the act is not consent to the press tour. Tucker’s position is that she already put the subject in the public record, and that his project is about his feelings, not a sex recap.

Both things can be true at once. A couple can have discussed an open bedroom on reality TV and still feel exposed when one of them repeats it, months after the split, in a trailer designed to sell tickets. That is why the internet reaction split so quickly. Some viewers heard Burruss drawing a reasonable post-divorce boundary. Others heard Tucker pointing out a double standard. On X, replies to the radio clips included both: that he should not be discussing the mother of his children’s private sex life, and that nobody would watch his documentary if Kandi’s name were not attached to it.

Tucker is not pretending the attention is accidental. He is taking ’Til Divorce Do Us Part and his film Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta on a multi-city theater tour, with New York dates listed for October 2–4. The radio hit was also a promo stop. He can say he is processing a divorce in public and still be using the most viral detail from the marriage to get people in the door. Those motives are not mutually exclusive.

    What this moment actually reveals

The X post that prompted this article captured the headline people wanted: Todd apologizes. The interview underneath it is a familiar post-reality-TV maneuver. Acknowledge the hurt. Reject the characterization. Keep the project moving.

Tucker wants credit for not “smearing” Burruss while continuing to build a tour around the idea that her version of the story left things out. Burruss wants the bedroom declared off-limits now that the marriage is over, after years of a public life in which almost nothing stayed off-limits. Their children still have to live in the space between those two strategies.

If there is a real apology in Thursday’s interview, it is this much: Tucker says he did not want the war, would not have chosen the divorce, and still considers Burruss “his people.” If there is a real limit to that apology, it is everything else he said in the same hour — that her statement is wrong, that her team bungled it, and that the trailer did not reveal anything the audience had not already been invited to wonder about.

The marriage is over. The argument about who gets to narrate it is not.

  • Boosie 60 minutes interview

Boosie Badazz Claps Back at ‘Snitch’ Claims After Going on 60 Minutes Over a $600,000 Pardon Deal

    5 Min Read

Atlanta area rapper Boosie Badazz is pushing back hard against fans who say he violated the street code by taking his fight public.

On September 14, 2026, he posted a roughly three-minute video from a pink-walled room, diamond chain on, speaking directly into the camera. The clip was his response to people calling him a snitch after he appeared on 60 Minutes to talk about two lobbyists he says took $600,000 from him for a presidential pardon that never arrived.

His message was blunt: this is not street business. It is a contract dispute.

    Boosie’s Controversial 60 Minutes Segment

The day before, CBS’s 60 Minutes aired an investigation into “pardon brokers” — consultants who charge large fees while claiming they can get cases in front of President Donald Trump. Boosie was one of the people featured.

He told correspondent Lesley Stahl he paid Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl of JM Burkman & Associates $600,000 upfront. “This is what I was led to believe: if you come with this money, you will get a pardon,” he said. The pardon never came. He says their agreement required them to return half the money if it failed. They refused. “They were just so cocky,” Boosie said.

Read: Boosie says he’s owed $600K in pardon deal.

The pair has a documented history of legal trouble, including a large FCC fine tied to robocall activity. They have disputed Boosie’s account, denied a refund was owed, and said they performed work on his behalf. Burkman has said they “tried very, very hard.”

Boosie later posted that he sat for about an hour and that only fragments made the broadcast. He said he also described meeting the White House pardon czar, being told the president had signed a pardon, and having a dismissed case later revived with an added claim that he was an “addict” around a firearm — something he called unfair given he had never been offered rehab despite a prior marijuana sentence. He said he wants far more than a partial refund and hopes the interview helps him in civil court.

Boosie Responds To 60 Minutes Interview

After the segment, social media did what social media does with Boosie: it reached for his own past comments about snitching. Replies to his video included lines like “That’s not snitching?” and “I thought you didn’t like snitches? Now you snitching.” Others accused him of talking tough about “his own people” while taking white lobbyists to court and television.

In the video, Boosie argued that people were mixing two different worlds. Taking someone to court after they sign a contract, take hundreds of thousands of dollars, fail to deliver, and refuse to return the money is not the same as cooperating with police on a street case. “This is business, bro. This ain’t no street sh*t,” he said, according to recaps of the clip. He asked what critics expected him to do instead — “keep it in the street” with government lobbyists?

That distinction is the heart of the argument. Boosie has spent years publicly condemning informants. Going on national television to name the men he says scammed him, describe the deal, and pursue money in a legal process looks, to some fans, like the opposite of that stance. To him, suing two political operatives over a written (if sloppy) business arrangement is simply collecting what he is owed.

    The Larger Picture

Boosie, born Torrence Hatch Jr., was dealing with a federal gun case tied to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Travel limits and the threat of more prison time made a pardon attractive. The lobbyists approached his lawyers in 2025, sold access and influence, and collected a large upfront fee. A contract reportedly included a $300,000 refund clause if no pardon arrived by a deadline; the document also contained errors, including a date that had already passed.

60 Minutes presented his story as part of a wider market in which people charge hundreds of thousands — and in some pitches, millions — while dropping names of activists, members of Congress, and White House staff. Boosie was not the only client described. He has called the arrangement a scam and said the men preyed on him while he was under pressure.

The video did not settle the debate. Some viewers still see a rapper who built a brand on not cooperating now using courts and cameras when the other side is white political operatives. Others see a man who paid a fortune, got nothing, and is using the only tools that actually work against people like that.

Boosie is treating it as a business collection matter. A large part of his audience is treating it as a test of the code he has spent years preaching. That gap is why a three-minute phone video, posted hours after a 60 Minutes appearance, became the next round of the story.

  • Maynard Jackson High School marching band

APS ‘Concerned’ Over Racial Incident Involving Maynard Jackson Marching Band, Jefferson High

    4 Min Read

Atlanta Public Schools issued a public statement Monday after reports that members of the Maynard Jackson High School marching band were subjected to racist language following a football game at Jefferson High School.

The district said it is “deeply concerned” by the accounts. No students were physically harmed, according to APS, but officials said they take the allegations seriously and are working with Jefferson High School administrators to investigate. Additional counseling is being offered at Maynard Jackson beginning Monday, September 14, and students can also use the district’s Talk It Out platform.

The statement followed a Friday night, September 11, 2026, non-region game in Jefferson, Georgia. Jefferson’s Dragons defeated the visiting Jaguars 30-0. Maynard Jackson students, including the football team and marching band, had traveled roughly 60 miles northeast of Atlanta for the contest.

Allegations of racial slurs, Confederate flags being displayed

APS has confirmed receiving reports that racist language was directed at band members as they left the stadium and loaded buses. Jefferson City Schools said it is aware of concerns circulating on social media, is reviewing them, and has contacted Maynard Jackson officials. Neither district has announced disciplinary action.

Social media posts and emails to local media have alleged a wider pattern of incidents during the game: racial slurs, Confederate flags being displayed or waved, football players being spit on after tackles, and food being spit on band members near the concession stand. Some accounts claimed Maynard Jackson coaches advised students not to use restrooms or walk the stadium alone. FOX 5 Atlanta, which reported the story, said it has not independently confirmed those additional claims.

    A Tale of 2 Schools

Maynard H. Jackson High School is an Atlanta Public Schools campus in the Grant Park area of southeast Atlanta. It is named for Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr., Atlanta’s first Black mayor, who served from 1974 to 1982 and again from 1990 to 1994. The school enrolls about 1,550 students.

Recent demographic data show a student body that is roughly 70 percent Black, 18 percent White, and 8–9 percent Hispanic, with about half of students classified as economically disadvantaged.

Jefferson High School is the sole high school in the Jefferson City School District in Jackson County. The town of Jefferson sits in a more rural and suburban setting. The school enrolls roughly 1,300 students and is about 75 percent White, 10 percent Black, and 9–11 percent Hispanic, with a lower share of students classified as economically disadvantaged than Maynard Jackson.

Jefferson has a strong football tradition and has made deep playoff runs in recent years. The two programs have met before, including in the 2023 Class 5A playoffs, when Jefferson won 48-14.

The pairing is typical of Georgia high school football: a large urban district traveling to a smaller city for a non-conference game. Friday night football remains a major social event in many Georgia communities, drawing large crowds of students, families, and local residents.

Troubling Developments Feed into Southern Tropes

Incidents involving racial slurs, taunting, or symbols at high school sporting events surface periodically in Georgia and across the South. They often involve visiting teams from majority-Black urban schools and host crowds from majority-White smaller towns or suburbs. Schools and athletic associations generally treat such behavior as a violation of sportsmanship codes, but investigations can be complicated when the conduct occurs among spectators rather than players or when evidence is limited to social media videos and secondhand reports.

In this case both districts have said they are gathering information. APS emphasized support for affected students and families. Jefferson City Schools described the reports as concerns it takes seriously. As of Monday evening, the story remained in the early investigation stage, with no public identification of specific individuals or a completed set of findings.

High school athletics and marching band programs are among the most visible extracurricular activities in Georgia. When they become the setting for racial hostility, the impact extends beyond a single game: students who traveled as representatives of their school return home describing an experience that felt unsafe or degrading. Districts now face the dual task of determining what occurred and deciding what, if any, consequences or policy changes follow.

  • Janet Jackson Why Didn’t I get married

The REAL Reason Janet Jackson Wasn’t in ‘Why Did I Get Married Again’

    4 Min Read

Tyler Perry has given fans a clearer look at why Janet Jackson did not return as Dr. Patricia Agnew in Why Did I Get Married Again?

Perry recently spoke at a promotional event for the Netflix film, which began streaming days ago. He addresses the question many viewers asked after the movie arrived: why the psychologist who anchored the first two films is missing from the third. The clip quickly gained traction, drawing more than a million views.

Why Janet Jackson Wasn’t in ‘Why Did I Get Married Again’

Tyler Perry wrote, directed, and starred in the original Why Did I Get Married? (2007) and its sequel Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010). Both films follow a group of college friends who gather for annual retreats to examine their marriages. Janet Jackson played Dr. Patricia Agnew, a composed psychologist whose professional poise contrasted with the private pain she carried after the death of her young son. Her husband Gavin, played by Malik Yoba, died in a car accident at the end of the second film, leaving her story on an unresolved note.

When Perry posted the script cover for the third film in 2025 and tagged the original ensemble—including Jackson—fans expected a full reunion. The finished movie, which premiered on Netflix on September 9, 2026, instead brought back most of the core cast (Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Jill Scott, Sharon Leal, Richard T. Jones, Lamman Rucker, and Perry himself) plus Taraji P. Henson in a new role. Jackson and Yoba were absent.

    Perry’s Explanation

Perry has been consistent in interviews: the reason was scheduling, not conflict. “Janet, at the time, she was doing a residency in Vegas, so we couldn’t work out the time,” he told Culture Creators. “But who knows what will happen in the future.” Jackson’s Las Vegas residency ran from December 2024 through September 2025, overlapping with production.

The viral clip circulating on X appears to be Perry repeating and slightly expanding on that point at a premiere or press event, standing in front of the film’s poster. He frames the absence as a practical mismatch rather than a creative or personal falling-out and leaves the door open for a later installment.

Inside the movie itself, the characters offer a story-world explanation. Angela and Marcus tell the group that Patricia is on a lecture tour and therefore cannot attend their daughter’s wedding in Italy. They also note that she may still be grieving Gavin. No new actress replaces her; the film simply proceeds without the character on screen.

    Patricia’s Place in the Franchise

Fans had speculated for months after the official cast list dropped without Jackson’s name. Some assumed drama; others pointed to her touring schedule. Perry’s on-camera comments cut through the rumors by treating the situation as ordinary industry logistics. Michael Jai White had earlier said Patricia is “not gone gone” and that a fourth film could bring her back if schedules lined up. Perry’s remarks align with that possibility.

The timing of the clip—posted just days after the Netflix release—also helped it spread. Viewers who finished the movie and immediately wondered about Patricia found a concise, firsthand answer from the filmmaker himself.

The third film continues the series’ focus on long-term relationships, now viewed through the lens of adult children getting married and the parents confronting the examples they have set.

Whether Patricia reappears in a potential fourth chapter remains unconfirmed, but Perry has made it clear the character was not written out permanently. For now, the explanation that circulated most widely is the one captured in that short video: Janet Jackson was in Vegas, the calendar did not work, and the story moved forward without her.

The top Buckhead restaurant has resumed its weekly “Basque in the Sun” Party. The event happens on Sundays starting at 4:30 p.m. until close.

What Is Gypsy Kitchen’s ‘Basque In The Sun’ Event?

Basque in the Sun is a lively culinary event that celebrates the beautiful Basque Country every Sunday afternoon. You can enjoy music, the sun and fellow revelers from Gypsy Kitchen’s balcony.

    You may also choose to:

    • Sip on tintos de verano
    • Try draft gintonics with Gypsy Kitchen’s very own proprietary tonic
    • Indulge on Spanish ciders while enjoying a variety of pintxos.

If you’re interested in something to munch on, try these tantalizing goodies:

    • Caramelized pork belly with blistered shishito peppers and chile oil ($3
    • ) Shaved Serrano ham with soft cheese and blackberry jam ($3)
    • Skewers stacked with oil cured tuna and piquillo peppers ($3)
    • Shrimp, chorizo, potato and red pepper ($4).

The event also usually includes half off select bottles of wine, although I’ve not heard that this time.

For those staying in Atlanta this weekend come join the fun on Sunday for a special edition of Basque in the Sun!

Gypsy Kitchen, which draws inspiration from a mix of Spanish, Moroccan and Indian influences, is known for their adventurous tapas and drink menu. It is located at 3035 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.
