Georgia Bulldog 2022 Football Schedule: Scores, Dates And Times

    6 Min Read

The Georgia Bulldogs won their second consecutive college football national championship on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 with a convincing victory over the TCU Horned Frogs.

2 In A Row: Georgia Wins College Football Championship

Less than a month earlier, the Georgia Bulldogs dominated the LSU Tigers 50-30 in a battle of heavyweights Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, in the SEC Championship Game in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

The game secured Georgia as the SEC Champion and locked in their #1 seed in the College Football Playoff. Scroll to the bottom to watch the highlights.

Next up: The Georgia Bulldogs (13-0 SEC) will face the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1, Big Ten) in the Peach Bowl at  Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

It looks like the Dawgs are headed for a showdown with LSU at the end of the 2022 football season. Coming on the heels of the university’s first national championship in nearly 40 years, the Bulldogs have a lot to play for.

Take a look at the Georgia football 2022 schedule and see if there are any “gotcha” games that may be under the radar. The Kentucky game? Probably. The Oregon opener? Definitely. But Head Coach Kirby Smart is SEC-ready now, perhaps more than he ever has been.

Running the table last year has taught the Bulldogs how to win it all, and they’re poised to prove the doubters wrong.

Georgia Caps Magical Season With College Football National Championship

    7 Min Read

The Georgia Bulldogs ended a uprecendented two-year run with a convincing win over the TCU Horned Frogs 65-7 to win their second consecutive College Football National Championship. The game on Monday, Jan. 9, 2022, in Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium was a fitting conclusion for the Dawgs, who field a team full of NFL-caliber players.

The Dawgs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, putting up 38 points in the first half over the outmanned Horned Frogs. TCU quarterback Max Duggan never found his footing as he found himself on the ground several times as the Georgia defense repeatedly caved in on him.

Georgia Wins Second Straight College Football Title

Georgia scored 42 straight points after TCU cut their early lead to 3 points,10-7.

Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart said the game plan was just to take it to TCU.

“A really aggressive plan. Not holding back anything,” he said after the contest. “We wanted our kids to play without fear, and all year, I told them, ‘We ain’t getting hunted, guys. We’re doing the hunting. And hunting season is almost over. We only got one more chance to hunt.’ And we hunted tonight.”

UGA quarterback Stetson Bennett threw for six touchdowns, tying a college football championship record held by former LSU signal caller Joe Burrow.

The senior signal caller said it was a cool moment when he was given a curtain call ovation from adoring fans and the Georgia sideline.

“I told all the guys, ‘What are we doing? Why don’t we have a play?'” Bennett said. “I was, like, they’re letting me walk out of here.”

“Stetson speaks for himself, the way he leads and prepares,” Smart told reporters. “His mental makeup is such of a quarterback that believes he can make every throw, and what he did tonight was truly amazing. Probably had his best game of his career, in my opinion, with some of the checks he made, some of the decisions he made, just really elite.”

Bennett, who started his Georgia career unsure of his place, finishes the season as a Heisman finalist and an intriguing NFL prospect.

Georgia began the season with the daunting task of running through the always-tough SEC, including a resurgent Tennessee team and inspired play from other SEC East teams. Here’s how the season played out.

Did Smart think the 2022 squad could repeat as champions?

“I’m kind of thinking, ‘Well, that would be nice, but we lost 15 draft picks,'” Smart told media after the game. “Might not be that easy this time.” But Bennett believed Georgia would be good enough again. “He had full conviction that he wanted to come back and go opposite of the mainstream,” Smart said. “He said, ‘I want to go play. I want to go play football and prove to people this is no fluke. We can do this.’ And he did everything that he said he was going to do.”

  • Why you shouldn't shop online with your debit card

Why You Shouldn’t Use Your Debit Card In 2023

    4 Min Read

One thing you can bet on is that you’re going to run across a lot of things to buy this year, from food to smart TVs and other devices. How you pay for those things will be very important.

In this article, we’re going to talk about why you should stop using your debit card to pay for things online.

But first, let’s go over the scenario: You shop online or run inside the grocery store to pick up a few things and at checkout, you pull out your debit card and proceed to swipe — but here’s why you shouldn’t.

Why You Should Never Use A Debit Card

For starters, hackers are actively trying to get your money, especially if you store it on websites and other places that may be high risk.

    • It’s Harder To Get Refunds: If you’re in the habit of paying for things you buy online with a debit card, it may take you much longer — if ever — to get your money back if there’s a problem.
    • Debit Cards Don’t Protect You From Fraud: Credit cards have more fraud protections than debit cards. That’s not to say that debit cards are useless, but if you’ve been defrauded, your money’s usually gone.

To help you understand the distinctions between the two, let’s look at credit cards and debits cards for what they are and how they differ.

What’s The Difference Between A Debit Card And Credit Card?

Debit cards and credit cards are two entirely different forms of payment. The only similarities they have are that they’re both plastic cards.

    What Is A Credit Card?

A credit card allows you to borrow money directly from your bank. When you swipe your credit card, you automatically create an account balance that you should pay at the end of the month.

A credit card is backed by the bank or card issuer. That means they have many safeguards in place to protect their product, and you — the cardholder — benefit from that.

    What Is A Debit Card?

A debit card is a card that allows you to spend money from your bank account. The amount that is deposited into your account is how much purchasing power you have at any given time.

One convenience of a debit card is that you can access money practically from anywhere by using an ATM.

Is It Bad To Use A Debit Card?

Generally, when making purchases you have more protections with a credit card rather than a debit card. For instance, if you get swindled due to buying a defective product, a credit card issuer typically will refund you the money even before it recoups it from the product seller.

On the other hand, if you use a debit card to buy a defective product, that money is generally not refundable. The bank doesn’t have any incentive to fight for your money.

    Bottom Line

It seems like every week there’s another data breaches or cybersecurity incident. It’s a wonder that more people aren’t afraid to pay online with a debit card.

It seems like every week there’s another data breaches or cybersecurity incident. It’s a wonder that more people aren’t afraid to pay online with a debit card.

So the next time you shop at an online store, remember to pull out your credit card, not your debit card.

Again, this is not to say that debit cards serve no purpose, but remember that they only have as much power as what you have in your account.

A credit card, on the other hand, has the card issuer on the hook as well, so they have protections built in to safeguard their investment as well as yours.

How To Save Money On Your Phone Bill

    3 Min Read
Saving money on your phone bill is something you should definitely try to achieve. It’s relatively easy and you can do it.
Even if your phone bill is one of the smallest expenses you have, there’s a possibility that you’re spending $20-$40 too much.
This article is going to show you how to save money on your phone bill. Follow these steps to cut expenses.

    1. Downgrade Your Data Plan

A lot of wireless providers have removed the option to downgrade plans from their websites and apps. That’s why you need to call your phone service provider.
To downgrade your data plan, you need to call your wireless carrier. Here are there phone numbers:
    • AT&T: 1-800-331-0500
    • T-Mobile: 1-877-453-1304
    • Verizon: 1-800-922-0204

    2. Start A Family Plan

T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T all give their biggest discounts to people on a family plan.
For example, a family plan of four costs about $120, while a single line can as high as $75 with the leading wireless companies.

Make sure you compare prices between the different carriers, so that you can find the cheapest cell phone plan.

    3. Qualify For A Discount

If you’re in the military, a veteran or senior citizen you may be able to save as much as $10 month on your days plan.

Make sure you review the many organizations you may be a part of. Chances are, you qualify for a rebate or reduced plan because of your affiliations.

    4. Buy A Refurbished Phone

Who says you have to buy a new phone when a pre-owned one works fine?
In some cases you can save up to 80% on the cost of a phone when you choose a refurbished one.
Here are some refurbished phones for sale on Amazon.

     5. Opt For Autopay

All of the phone providers give you an average of $5 off if you choose to enable autopay for your monthly bill.

The savings come to $64 a year if you can make it the full 12 months. That’s not bad.

    6. Don’t Get Phone Insurance

If you want to keep your monthly phone bill down, don’t opt for phone insurance.

If you’ve ever filed a claim on a broken phone (I have), even with insurance there are instances where you still have to pay.

    Final Words

If you want to stay connected to the world, your phone bill is one expense that you can’t live without. The good news is that you can save money along the way.

Southwest Airlines Quietly Puts Fares On Sale

    5 Min Read

After so much end-of-the-year holiday travel confusion from Southwest Airlines, travelers are finally back home and operations are back to normal for the carrier. Will you fly Southwest again? I’m sure that depends.

From Atlanta, the airline currently has some cheap flights for January, February and March 2023, if you want to take advantage.

How Far Out Are Southwest Airlines’ Cheapest Fares?

A sampling of airfares in the first week of January 2023 from Atlanta to Los Angeles shows fares as cheap as $148 one way deep into summer.

    cheap Southwest Fares

The airline seems to have course corrected since an epic failure of mass cancellations in which thousands of passengers were left stranded right before the Christmas holiday.

What Caused Southwest To Cancel So Many Flights?

A perfect storm of events has led Southwest to cancel its flight schedules en mass, including an unusually large arctic blast that briefly swept over the continental United States.

According to news reports, Southwest has canceled more than 15,700 flights since December 22.

Another issue that hurt the airline is its dependence on free-flying planes from one destination to another rather than a traditional “hub” system used by Delta, United and other major airlines.

    Should I Fly Southwest Airlines?

Although Southwest is doing what it can to catch up its flight schedule, fliers will have to make a real decision on whether to fly the airline after this.

One thing Southwest has for it is it’s relatively cheap fares and generous baggage policy.

Finding affordable fares that allow you to travel anywhere for cheap is an art and a science this days. Thankfully, Southwest Airlines has frequent sales.

This article will tell you how to get the best Southwest fare you can get as well as what to expect on your flight.

Flying Southwest? Here’s What You Need To Know

We’ve previously covered Southwest’s Low Fare Calendar. In this article, we’ll discuss the process you’ll likely go through on a Southwest airlines flight and other things you’ll want to know.

Southwest is popular among fliers because it’s the only major airline that allows you to carry two free checked bags. Some other perks you get with Southwest are:

    • No change fees
    • No cancel fees

On most Southwest flights, you also get same-day changes, same-day standby and the fares are refundable.

Sign Up For Southwest Rapid Rewards

One way to save on a flight is to take advantage of Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program.

With Rapid Rewards, you earn 2 points per $1 spent on Southwest and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.

To maximize your savings, you may opt to buy your fare with cash rather than use your Rapid Rewards points.

Will Southwest Flights Go Down In Price?

Southwest Airlines usually publishes its sales on a seasonal basis. If you’re a Rapid Rewards member, you’ll get an email with low fares to several destinations.

Out of Atlanta, the emails will usually look like this.

    Southwest sale from Atlanta, Georgia

Where Does Southwest Airlines Fly For $49?

One of Southwest’s most popular fares is its cheap $49 flights, which typically cover cities between 300 to 500 miles from each other.

For example, Southwest has a route that goes from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Although they may advertise it for a cheap price, Southwest is known to go up on the price from one day to the next.

What Day Are Southwest Fares Cheaper?

Southwest usually drops its fares on Tuesdays, which is when its members get emails advertising cheap flights.

On Tuesdays, Southwest matches prices to compete with low-cost carriers. You can either try to book in the morning or afternoon to get a flight.

How To Book A Flight On Southwest

To book a flight on Southwest Airlines, go to Southwest.com and enter your departing city or airport and arriving city/airport.

    Is Southwest The Cheapest Airline?

Southwest Airlines is known as a low-cost airline, but it’s not the cheapest. Their are other airlines with lower fares, but you won’t get the same customer service that you get with Southwest.

JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines both have competitive flights along with Southwest, but neither of them give you two free bags.

    Final Word

If you’re considering flying with Southwest, always check their Wanna Get Away fares, which are the best deals. Wanna Get Away flights offer cheap economy fares that are hard to beat.

If your destination is not as popular, you may be able to get a cheap fare closer to the departure date, but it just depends.

Thinking about getting away? Get your passport, and do your research to find the cheapest flights from Atlanta that are on sale.  And don’t forget these travel hacks to save money and time.

To Atlanta is one of the most convenient places to travel to and from. A large part of that is because Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is so accessible.

Not only is it the world’s busiest airport, but it’s state-of-the-art in every way. If you’re interested in traveling around Atlanta via car or even on scooter, here’s what to know.

How To Rent Your Home On AirBnb In Atlanta

    4 Min Read

Renting your home out on AirBnb may be one of the easiest ways to achieve your goal and make extra money

Hotels don’t give tenants the same amenities and square footage as a typical AirBnb. That gives the homesharing site and app a clear advantage.

In this article, we’ll cover all the details on how to rent your home on Airbnb.

Is It Profitable To Rent Your Home On AirBnb?

Renting your home on AirBnb can be very profitable. Because many hotels charge high rates, it makes for an opportunity if you’re willing to list your home.

But before you do, make sure that you own a property in an area / neighborhood where new faces are welcome and guests feel safe.

It’s also a good idea to to make sure your neighbors are aware of what’s going on to a reasonable degree. You might also want to check to see if your homeowners association forbids it.

If you’re all clear, then you just need to prepare to rent your home.

How Old Do You Have To Be To Rent On AirBnb?

Airbnb’s terms of use indicate, guests and hosts must be 18 years or older. No children are allowed to create an account.

That means you won’t have to worry about young kids renting out your home for a Sweet 16 party. College students, however, are generally old enough to use the platform.

What Percentage Of Rent Does AirBnb Take?

iAirbnb charges a service fee of 3% for hosts with a residential listing. If you have a Super Strict cancellation policy, you  may be charged more based on other factors.

Now let’s go over how to set up your Airbnb account.

List Your Home In 6 Steps

    1. Set up an account and log onto Airbnb.com, click on “Add a listing.”

    2. Once you go through the prompts, you’ll choose whether this is a guest house or one where you “keep your personal belongings.”

You’ll also need to disclose whether you’re listing on behalf of a company or just yourself.

    3. Under “Sleeping Arrangements,” add how many beds are in the bedroom(s) as well as if you have a sofa bed.

    4. Once you add your address, you’ll need to confirm on a Google Map embedded in the page. Next, list any amenities like Wi-Fi, heat, AC (yes, those are all amenities) so that guests know what to expect.

    5. Next list all the “Spaces” that guests can use (pool, washing machine, dryer, etc.).

    6. Upload pictures of your home then describe your place, neighborhood and surrounding features to really sell it to would-be guests.

Once you do that, you’re ready to press the button to list your home.

3 Tips & Tricks When Renting Your Home On Airbnb

    • Remember, all transactions should be handled by Airbnb. Do not accept cash payment outside of the online system, that’s how trouble and discrepancies can arise.
    • Always draft some house rules: Let your guests know that this is not an anything-goes residence and that big parties are a no-no.
    • Before you accept a guest, make sure they have great reviews. If you read their ratings on Airbnb, that will give you the greatest indication of what type of guest they are.

    Final Word

As you can see, there is some money to be made from renting your home out on Airbnb. To make the most of your home, always communicate your house rules to your guests ahead of time so there’s no misunderstanding.

Also, we can’t stress it enough: Let your close neighbors know that you’re listing your home on Airbnb.

There’s nothing worse than you renting out your home only to get a call from the cops hours later, saying that your neighbor reported a suspicious person on your property.

Atlanta has one of the best real estate markets in the country, with affordable housing in every quadrant of the city. Large backyards, manicured parcels and strong neighborhoods with ample dining amenities make it one of the top places for transplants.
