Big 3, the popular three-on-three pro basketball league, is coming to downtown Atlanta on Sunday July 7, 2019. The games will be played at State Farm Arena starting at 1 p.m. ET.
The league co-founded by Ice Cube and others, tipped off its third season in mid-June in Detroit. This time, former NBA all-stars like Lamar Odom, Joe Johnson and others.

The 3-Headed Monsters went 7-1 at one point last year but couldn’t finish the deal. They are led by prolific scorers Rashard Lewis, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf and Reggie Evans.
Power went 4-4 last year behind the prowess of Corey Maggette, Cuttino Mobley and Glen “Big Baby” Davis, among others.
Trilogy, the 2018 Big 3 champions, return this season with Jason Terry, James White and David Hawkins.
The Triplets bring a formidable force on the court, including “Iso” Joe Johnson, Al Jefferson and Jennero Pargo among others.
Bivouac is an expansion team with an decidedly Atlanta flavor: Former Atlanta Hawk legend Reggie Theus helms the team with former Philips Arena highlighters Dion Glover and Josh Smith.

One of Atlanta’s most popular fall events, The BronzeLens Film Festival, had their official selections over the weekend at CNN Studios.
More than 90 films were selected for the festival, including some of the world’s best full-length features, documentaries and shorts.

Actors Keith David (“Greenleaf”) and Terri Vaughn (“The Steve Harvey Show”) hosed the selection process, which took place in downtown Atlanta.
The movies will be screened from August 21-25 in Atlanta. Films covering a wide swath of genres were submitted from the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa.
Thousands are expected in Atlanta for the BronzeLens Film Festival 2019 on August 21-25. Some of the best African-American talent in film will be featured.
BronzeLens Film Festival 2019 will host a gathering of some of the emerging and veteran African-American movie professionals.

Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion says she is determined to use her platform to better the environment. That includes promoting a vegan lifestyle.
In an interview with HotSpotATL, Megan talks about how she first took an interest in going green.

“In high school, I was in this environmental science class, so that’s when I started learning about the environment and what was going on,” she said.
“When I graduated I never really thought about it again — I would try to conserve though — but when one of my Hotties came she was like, “Hey Megan, I know it’s a Hot Girl Summer, but can we talk about global warming … I was like, ‘you know what: Sis, tell us what we need to do.”
Megan says she’s been considering giving up meat as well.
“I’ve been eating a lot of vegan food lately, but i’m really on the vegetarian boat right now. Vegan is kind of hard, I love cheese.”
