Georgia State University Football Schedule 2019: Times, Dates, Game Info

    2 Min Read

The Georgia State University Panthers are ready to play for Sun Belt football in 2019. Georgia State Stadium is just south of downtown Atlanta, a perfect place for some gridiron.

The Panthers football team has only been in existence since 2010, but it has made strides since then and been able to recruit some quality athletes from inside and outside the state.

Here is the Georgia State Panthers 2019 football schedule

    Date Opponent Location Time
    Saturday, Aug. 31 Tennessee 38-30 Knoxville, TN 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 7 Furman 48-42 GSU Stadium, Atlanta, GA 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 14 At Western Michigan Kalamazoo, MI 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept 21 At Texas State San Marcos, Texas TBA
Saturday, Oct. 5 Arkansas State GSU Stadium, Atlanta, GA 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 19 Army GSU Stadium, Atlanta, GA 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 9 At ULM Monroe, LA TBA
Saturday, Nov 16 Appalachian State GSU Stadium, Atlanta, GA 2 p.m.

Georgia State’s biggest rival is Georgia Southern, which is located in Statesboro. Although the teams have squared up quite a few times in basketball, they meet in football only so often until a few years ago.

That’s when both schools joined the Sun Belt Conference. Since then it has become a heated in-state rivalry that brings out the best in fans.

    Week 1: GSU 38- Tennessee 30

The party was in downtown Atlanta on Aug. 31 after the Georgia State University Panthers shocked the Tennessee Volunteers 38-30 at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee, a former powerhouse team in the SEC, was supposed to mop the field with the Panthers, who were three-score underdogs. Instead, GSU handed the Vols their first home opening loss since 1983.

    Week 2: GSU 48- Furman 42

In a thrilling game that saw Georgia State get behind after leading for most of the way, the Panthers scored late to beat Furman University 48-42.

Thousands flock to Bronner Brothers Hair Show in Atlanta

On the exhibition floor, hair models walked around with pomp and circumstance to lure customers to their respective booths to buy products and other things.

As one of the largest hair conventions in the world, celebrities from all over attend Bronner Brothers as well:

Actress, producer and reality TV star Yandy Smith was there to represent her Yelle Skincare line, her plant-based skincare regimen that caters to melanin-rich skin.

Smith talked to AtlantaFi.com about what motivated her to get into the beauty and cosmetics industry.

“When I started getting on TV that was my first time wearing makeup and my skin really reacted badly to it. I broke out really bad.”

She said that when she went to Sephora to get everything she needed to clear up her skin, the total bill was more than $600.

“I realized the average woman would not be able to afford an all-natural plant-based skincare line that would cost $600 a month,” she said.

“That’s when I decided I wanted to get with a master esthetician and a chemist to create something that was green, that was natural, that was plant-based for the everyday working woman like myself.”

I wanted to make sure that this product was for people with melanin in their skin.”

Krab Queenz Seafood & Daiquiri Opens In Atlanta

    2 Min Read

Krab Queenz Seafood & Daiquiri is set to open in Midtown Atlanta on Friday, August 17, 2019.

Krab Queenz is co-owned by Kwaylon Rogers, a comedian known as Titi. Other celebrities and businesspeople are involved in the restaurant as well.

Krab Queenz Seafood & Daiquiri opens in Atlanta

Saturday’s grand opening will feature a number of Atlanta celebrities as well as plenty of Louisiana flavor: A second line band ,a parade will be there as well as an appearance by Atlanta rapper Pastor Troy and more.

The restaurant occupies the former space of Gladys Knight Chicken & Waffles.

Gladys Knight’s restaurant used to have long lines snaking down the sidewalk until it closed in 2017 after infighting with her nephew, who ran the Midtown institution.

Now, Krab Queenz is hoping people crowd the restaurant in the same fashion.

As the name implies, there’s plenty of seafood, the boiled seafood variety as well as fried fare. Waffles and other specialty items will also be for sale.
Keeping with the Louisiana theme, Krab Queenz will offer daiquiris, a New Orleans specialty.
But here’s the best part: Krab Queenz sells seafood by the pound.
Rogers also has Krab Queenz restaurants in Los Angeles and Houston. On Instagram, the comedian said this: ” I’m so happy that I can FINALLY say something! 3 restaurants in less than 9 months!! Wow! Y’all I think that this is already my favorite location! See y’all August 17th at 1pm.”
