  • Falcons: Ridder To Start Against the Saints

    2 Min Read

The Atlanta Falcons are going to re-insert Desmond Ridder back into the starting lineup at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, the team has announced.

The Falcons’ plan is for Ridder to be the starter for the rest of the season.

An Atlanta win on Sunday would put them in first place in the NFC South with a 5-6 record. The Falcons have the easiest schedule in the NFL.

Ridder told reporters that he is more than good to go against New Orleans, which is always a tough opponent.

“My job is to be a starting quarterback in this league,” Ridder was quoted as saying. “And so every day I come in here and everyone, no matter quarterback, running back, doesn’t matter your position, wants to be that starter.

Ridder was benched two games ago after suffering a concussion against the Tennessee Titans. The Falcons went with second-string quarterback Taylor Heinicke against the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals but he has gone down with a hamstring injury.

Falcons Coach Arthur Smith said that if Ridder gets hurt, Atlanta would go with third-string signal caller Logan Woodside.

Smith said that Ridder has used his time on the bench wisely.

“I think he’s done a really good job of that and taking advantage of what can be perceived as a major negative and trying to turn it into a positive,” Smith told media after practice Monday.

On the season, Ridder has rushed for four touchdowns, completed 65.4% of his passes for 1,740 yards, 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He has also lost six lost fumbles.

    André 3000 Releases Flute Album

    3 Min Read

Atlanta native André 3000 has released a new album for the first time in nearly 20 years. His new album New Blue Sun was released on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023.

The artist, born Andre Benjamin, hasn’t released new music in 17 years, but decided the end of 2023 was the right time. To test his music, he reportedly reached out to other creatives to give them a listen.

“I wanted to see how a younger audience would perceive it… I reached out to Tyler [the Creator] for him to check it out and I went to his house. “Frank [Ocean] just happened to drop by [too],” he told NPR.

When Is New Blue Sun’s Release Date?

New Blue Sun was released on Friday, November 17, 2023.

How did they respond to the new music? They loved it.

“And I was just happy to hear that, ’cause I respect them as musicians. Like new energy; they’re going for it, man. So I really respect their opinions. I play it for my homies. I play it for friends, play it for artists, directors — just to see their reaction more than anything. So I was just happy with what I was getting.”

Andre 3000 New Album: No Bars

If you’re thinking you’ll get some new Andre 3000 verses, you’re in for a change.

Speaking to the NPR, Andre said that he wanted to release a concept album free of his past life and what people may have been used to from him.

“I don’t want to troll people,” André was quoted as saying. “I don’t want people to think, Oh, this André 3000 album is coming! And you play it and like, Oh man, no verses. So even actually on the packaging, you’ll see it says, ‘Warning: no bars.’”

Why No Music For So Long?

It wasn’t long ago that Three Stacks was saying that he was not really feeling new music for himself. In an interview with Rick Rubin, he said:

“I haven’t been making much music man. My focus is not there. My confidence is not there. I tinker… I tinker a lot,” he said. “Like I would just go to my piano and just sit my iPhone down and record what I’m doing. Move my fingers around. I haven’t been motivated enough to make a serious project. I’d like to… but it’s just not coming.”

Fast forward to 45 days before 2024 and Andre is ready to bless us with new audio. If you’ve heard the music, how do you like it? Let us know in the comments.

Georgia Overpowers Ole Miss 51-17 as Bowers Returns

    2 Min Read

The Georgia Bulldogs blew out the Ole Miss Rebels 52-17 on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 in a showdown between two top 10 SEC teams.

The Bulldogs racked up 610 yards of offense, including 309 passing from first-year quarterback Carson Beck. Running back Kendall Milton added 127 rushing yards for the Dawgs, who should be the undisputed #1 team in the land after Saturday night.

How to watch the Georgia game for free.

The game marked the return of star tight end Brock Bowers, who was injured a month ago. Beck said after the game that Ole Miss had a game plan of taking Bowers out of the game, which played right into the quarterback’s hands.

“I would assume that their attention would be shifted to him,” Beck told reporters. “If you’re gonna focus attention on him, OK, I’m gonna spread the ball around.”

As for Ole Miss, they were knocked out of contention for the SEC West crown earlier in the day when Alabama won, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t put up a fight.

In the first quarter, the teams were tied 14-14 before the Georgia defense began to put the clamps on Ole Miss. During the process, Rebels, quarterback Jaxson Dart was knocked out of the game.

Atlanta is not only Hollywood’s #1 place for movie and TV productions, but web series are hot here too.

ATL is a hotbed for web series with huge followings online. Here are some of the best shows that have worked ATL in the plot or are produced here.

Too hot for TV: The best Atlanta web series you’ve never heard of

A lot of these series have street-based themes and plots, but there are also rom-coms and more being made right here in Atlanta.

    One Goode Man

    Atlanta Avenue

This new Atlanta-based web series Atlanta Avenue focuses on a series of long stories about bosses who converge on Georgia’s largest city.

    Relationship Trap

The G-Redemption web series features a lot of dialog and some interesting plot points. You will definitely enjoy it.

    Trapped In the Game

Trapped in the Game is a character-driven web series that delves into the lives of a small group of friends. There are some great moments in here.

    Smoking Mirrors

“Smoking Mirrors” takes its cues from other hood movies, but does it exceptionally well, especially when it comes to giving its characters juicy lines. We like.

    Trap House Atlanta

“Trap House” Atlanta is a popular web series that shows the seedier side of the ATL in vivid and climatic color. The intense scenes make this one more than watchable.

How To Hire a Plumber In Atlanta

    5 Min Read

If you own a home, sooner or later you’re going to have some plumbing problems. It’s not necessarily anybody’s fault, except the pipes in your newer or older home. That’s when you may need a plumber.

Looking for a plumber in Atlanta or any other metropolitan city can be difficult, if you don’t know how to get around it. Courtesy of our Home Improvement series, we can help you.

This article will show you step-by-step how to hire a plumber for your home or business.

The reason why you need to be careful with who you hire to fix your pipes is because there are a lot of scammers out there. But let’s start with the problem and go from there.

    Identify Your Plumbing Issue

To the best of your ability you need to find out what exactly is the problem with your plumbing. Is there a leak? Do you have water damage on a floor, the ceiling or between the walls?

Determine the specific plumbing issue you need to address. Is it a leak, a clogged drain, a water heater problem, or a larger plumbing project like a bathroom remodel? Understanding your needs will help you find a plumber with the right expertise.

    Shop For a Plumber

It’s time to go plumber-shopping. You can do this online but you also need to gather recommendations from friends, family and associates.

Seek recommendations from people who have had positive experiences with plumbers in your area. Personal referrals can be valuable because they have the trust factor.

The easiest way to compare plumbers is to get online and do research. Use online platforms, such as review websites like Yelp, Angie’s List, or the Better Business Bureau, to find highly-rated plumbers in your locality.

If you can, interview multiple plumbers. Contact several plumbers to discuss your project. Ask about their experience, qualifications, and if they have experience with the type of work you need.
Inquire about their availability and rates for service calls or estimates.

    Check Their Credentials

What you want is a licensed contractor who knows how to do the job you want. Some plumbers specialize in different areas. Some may only do construction. Others may be geared toward bathroom remodels. Don’t skip the opportunity to verify that the plumber is licensed to work in your area. Contact your local licensing board to confirm their credentials.

Ensure the plumber carries liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage to protect you in case of accidents or damage on your property.

Once you’ve checked the credentials of a plumber it’s time to contact them to see if they have the time, skills and availability to solve your plumbing issue.

    Contact the Plumber

Maintain open and clear communication with the plumber throughout the project. Discuss the timeline, any potential issues, and ensure you are both on the same page regarding the work to be done.

Ensure that the plumber will obtain any necessary permits for your project. They should also adhere to local building codes and regulations.

    Request Written Estimates

Because plumbers you talk to are going to tell you what you want to hear, make sure you get everything you want in writing.

Ask for written estimates from the plumbers you are considering. Make sure the estimates are detailed, outlining the scope of work, materials, labor costs, and any potential additional charges.
Compare the estimates to determine the most reasonable cost.

Sign a contract that includes all project details, payment terms, start and completion dates, and any warranties.

Don’t Forget About References and Reviews

Request references from the plumber and contact them to inquire about their experiences and satisfaction with the plumber’s work.

You’ll also want to research online reviews and ratings to gauge the plumber’s reputation and reliability.

    Agree On Payment

After a conversation of all the expenses involved in the job, it’s time to agree on the cost of the plumbing job.

Avoid paying the full cost upfront. Payment schedules should be based on project milestones, with the final payment made upon satisfactory completion of the work.

Don’t be afraid to ask about guarantees and warranties. Inquire about any warranties or guarantees on the work performed. A reputable plumber should stand behind their work and materials.

    Communicate Early and Often

While the job is being done, you’ll want to stay in open communication with the plumber to head off any issues or unexpected problems that arise.

After the work is completed, it’s up to you to perform a final inspection to ensure that the plumbing issue has been resolved to your satisfaction.

Leave a Review and Feedback After the Job Is Done

Consider leaving a review or providing feedback on the plumber’s performance. Your feedback can be helpful for others in need of plumbing services.

    Final Word

Hiring a qualified and reputable plumber is crucial to ensure that your plumbing issues are addressed professionally and efficiently. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and that includes:

    • Asking for written estimates
    • Asking for references
    • Telling the plumber what you want

By following these steps, you can make an informed decision and find a plumber who meets your specific needs.
