Atlanta’s Bounce TV Gets Licensing Rights To ‘Scandal’

    CJ Johnson cj-johnson-2 November 8, 2018
    2 Min Read

Gladiators, mount up! It’s about to be a “Scandal” on TV again. Atlanta-based Bounce TV is bringing Olivia Pope, Cyrus and the whole gang back on the air.

After striking a multiyear deal with Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, Bounce has acquired all seven seasons and 125 episodes of “Scandal”. The show will air Monday – Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET beginning Nov. 12.

‘Scandal’ comes to Atlanta’s Bounce TV

The Shonda Rhimes-produced legal and political drama has won numerous awards, including Emmys and a Peabody.

“Scandal is Bounce’s most-significant off-network series acquisition to date,” said Bounce General Manager Cheryle Harrison. “It is a smash hit that featured a powerful and complex black female lead in a broad-based drama designed for the masses. We are thrilled to add this iconic series to our programming slate.”

“Scandal” was a ratings giants for ABC as it chronicled the exploits of Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a former White House Communications Director, who helms a prominent D.C. crisis management firm.

She and her team of powerful lawyers make scandals disappear while handling government crises and coping with problems of their own. Adding spice to the story was the fact that Pope is also romantically involved with the very married president of the United States, Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III, played by Tony Goldwyn.

PR Reimagined Panel To Be Held At Ponce City Market

Ponce City Market will host a panel discussion that explores how industry leaders and innovators are redefining public relations through a new lens. “PR Rimagined: Mastering Storytelling Through Disruption” is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at Ponce City Market’s 8th floor suite #8500.

PR Reimagined: Mastering Storytelling Through Disruption

While the foundation of PR remains the same, the way professionals use mediums (such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Immersive technology) to create a share of voice is constantly changing. PR Reimagined brings together sought-after thought leaders from various industries to shed light on new and inventive practices that any PR professional can utilize in their role.

With this iteration of PR Reimagined: Mastering Storytelling Through Disruption, Media Frenzy Global seeks to challenge our industry which at times, is slow to change.

In this era of hyper-communication, agencies are challenged with helping companies amplify their voice amidst the noise of thousands of blogs, articles and online content created every day. Brands can no longer depend on a “one-size fits all” content strategy to satisfy their target audiences and now’s the time when this concept of static content and storytelling will change forever.

Atlanta’s Chicago-style pizza wars are heating back up in a big way. As we told you, Gino’s East recently opened its first Georgia location. The pizza restaurant’s entry into metro Atlanta has been highly anticipated for a number of months.

Gino’s East is located in Midtown Atlanta’s Ponce-Highland section in the base of the 675 N. Highland building and will seat 80 guests. Parking will be free in the 675 N. Highland parking garage.

Gino’s East pizza opens in Midtown Atlanta

Atlantans can expect Gino’s East’s signature golden-crust Chicago-style pies with all the fixings: appetizers, salads, sandwiches. The new #DeepAF pizzas will come with more dough, extra cheese, and double the toppings.

“We couldn’t be more excited to finally announce our ATL opening the first week of December, it’s like an early Christmas present for the Chicago transplants,” Maggie Keeler, marketing director, said in a written statement. “Our Atlanta location will offer a true deep dish experience with a southern twist! I hope the ATL is ready to get #DeepAF.”

Gino’s East comes to Atlanta: Service hours

During the opening week, casual dining service will begin Friday – Saturday from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday – Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. serving dinner only, aiming to add delivery and carry out by the end of December. Gino’s East Atlanta will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

When it comes to restaurants, Atlanta is quickly gaining ground on some of the dining capitals around the United States.

Fast-casual is the dining trend du jour around metro Atlanta restaurants. The concept involves mixing the quick accessibility of fast food with the casual dining experience. Food in Atlanta is also adapting to the various tastes of the migrants that come here to live.

Patrons typically order off a menu board like they would at a burger joint, but the convenience of sitting down to leisurely enjoy their food has made the segment a popular one with the restaurant industry.

The craze hasn’t escaped metro Atlanta’s food and drink scene, which has seen a fast-caz explosion in recent years.

Atlanta’s First Couple: The Wopsters, Gucci Mane And Keyshia Ka’oir

There are many great relationships to look up to in Atlanta, but the city’s first couple is Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir: The Wopsters.

If you’ve been keeping up with entertainment, you know that Atlanta, East Atlanta, specifically, has its own Brad and Angelina. Only this couple features a successful entrepreneur, Keyshia Ka’oir, and famous rapper Gucci Mane.

The Wopsters welcome baby Ice Davis to the world and Atlanta.

The couple made it official on Tuesday Oct. 17, 2017 in a televised affair at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Ka’ oir sells multiple products under her beauty line, including the Ka’oir Waist Eraser, which she credits for helping her slim down while maintaining her curves.

While Ka’oir’s business saavy is considerable, she’s been getting major props for maintaining the clean-living which has allowed Gucci Mane to stay svelte after losing 50 pounds in prison.

Jailed on a parole violation, Gucci Mane — real name Radric Davis — was supposed to serve 39 months, with a release date of March 2017. But he shocked fans last year when the much-thinner rapper debuted in Snapchat videos at his mansion he shares with Ka’oir.

Speaking to The Fader magazine, Ka’oir said that his social media debut was strategic, and everything happened the way she planned.

“When we got to Atlanta, we got off the plane on the runway and we had a private service that took us to our home. Then when we got home, that’s when I started posting on Snapchat. That was all my plan,” she was quoted as saying.

The couple can be seen at various Atlanta events, from Atlanta Hawks basketball games to private parties. Are they Atlanta’s first couple?
