Speaking to Netflix, Rowland said Perry was very positive about any creative ideas she came up with as well. “It was just so easy to work with him and if there was ever any moment where he was uncertain about something, he would say, ‘Well, let’s discuss it and then let’s try it.’ But it was all about communicating.”

It’s official: Usher Raymond, 45, has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea, 40, in Las Vegas. Usher came clean on his Instagram with the release of several photos of the nuptials.
When Did Usher Get Married?
Usher and Jennifer got married on Feb. 11 on Vegas, which is where the singer performed at Super Bowl LVIII. Instead of opting for a huge ceremony with hundreds of people, the couple got hitched via a drive-thru wedding package.
It was reported that Usher’s mother Jonetta Patton witnessed the nuptials and signed the marriage certificate as such.
Goicoechea, who is Italian and Puerto Rican, was reared in Miami.
In an interview with People, Usher said he felt a type of way when fans learned that he had married his first wife, Tameka Foster.
“I think I became very closed and then felt attacked in many ways,” he said. “It was a bit unconventional in a time when I felt like my female fans were judgmental of the woman that I chose.”
Looking back, he says that colorism played a major role.
“She was a dark-skinned woman, and maybe they didn’t want to love her in a way because of maybe some reason that had to do with themselves,” he explained while adding, “I don’t know. Or maybe she was not the best reference because of how she handled herself. That’s not for me to be concerned about. I did my part and what I thought was right.”
He also told People.com that his hit album Confessions was largely based on what his producer Jermaine Dupri was going through, but much of it was his own storyline as well.
“The reality of where it landed and the expression of what that was about, it wasn’t exactly in order of the way or better yet in the moment when I delivered that song,” Usher said. “We go through things in life and sometimes we make decisions based off of what we feel is best or right, and more than likely, will best serve the child. But the reason why I talked about it is because I’m not the only person who will experience that as men.”
Final Word
We at AtlantaFi.com wish the Raymonds all the best not just this weekend, but every Atlanta weekend.
Usher has two sons from a previous relationship with ex-wife Tameka Foster — “Cinco” V and Naviyd Ely — as well as a daughter — Sovereign Bo and a son, Sire Castrello — with his wife, Jenn Goicoechea.

All eyes were on a Fulton County courtroom on Thursday, Feb. 16, as a judge is commenced a hearing to determine whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be removed from the election interference indictment case.
Willis took the stand after Nathan Wade, whom she hired and admitted to having a personal relationship with, detailed his spending when the two were together on trips here and abroad.
Willie also testified under oath, openly sparring with defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant.
At one point, Willis said that she couldn’t wait to testify, “so I ran to the courtroom.”
Willis: ‘You Think I’m on Trial’
She also scolded Merchant on several occasions, telling her at one point, “You think I’m on trial. These people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020,” she said, gesturing toward the attorneys representing defendants in the criminal case. “I’m not on trial, no matter how hard you try to put me on trial.”
She later accused Merchant of being “intrusive.”
Political pundits are watching the case closely as Willis has had to defend her name more than once from allegations of impropriety after taking on presumptive Republican candidate for president. In 2021, shortly after assuming office as district attorney, Willis launched an investigation into former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants for potential election interference.
A year later, in 2022, Willis successfully petitioned for the impaneling of a special purpose grand jury to further investigate the matter. The grand jury’s proceedings commenced in May and concluded in December of the same year.
Thursday’s hearing has been extended into Friday and will determine whether Willis and her office can continue to prosecute the case. Co-defendant Michael Roman and his legal team have claimed in court filings that Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade had an inappropriate relationship before Wade was hired.
In response, Willis and Wade acknowledged a personal relationship but stated that there is no conflict of interest and it began after he was hired and did not lead to any financial advantages.
Willis stuck to her story that the hiring of Wade was done because he is a consummate professional and nothing else.
Earlier in the day, when Wade was on the stand,
Nathan Wade said his romantic relationship with Willis ended around June 2023 but that they remain friends. “We’re very good friends,” Wade said under questioning from a Trump attorney. “Probably closer than ever because of these attacks.”
That statement and timeline was contradicted by Robin Yeartie, a former friend and employee of Willis, who said that the DA and Wade began their romantic relationship in 2019.
Final Word
Willis has inferred that she has had to do her job amid intense pressure on her personal life.
Speaking to a church in January, Willis said that she is far from perfect.
““You cannot expect black women to be perfect. We need to be allowed to stumble. We need grace. We are all sinners,” she said.“We need your prayers, We need to be allowed to stumble. We need grace. With that type of support, we will move mountains and do Jesus’s will — stumbling all of the way!”
We’ll see how the hearing unfolds, but it’s no doubt that Republicans will celebrate if Willis is taken down and Democrats will breathe a sigh of relief if she is found to stay.
Last fall, she wrote a scathing letter to GOP Rep. Jim Jordan in response to his attacks.

Riding off his success from his Super Bowl performance, eight-time Grammy winner Usher is producing a series based on his music, according to news reports. The news comes just as the singer has announced a multi-city tour.
The drama series will be produced in partnership with UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, according to Variety.
Kenny Meiselas Selwyn Seyfu Hinds and Katie Zucker have signed on as executive producers.
“My 30-year catalog has resonated with so many people no matter where they were in their lives,” Usher said. “I’m happy to be working with UCP to bring the music to life. I hope the series resonates with you the way my music continues to.”
The drama series is about, “Black love in Atlanta and individuals looking to find a place to call home. The series will explore music, style, sex, romance and secrets that threaten to tear relationships apart,” according to the logline.
What’s not known yet is who will star in the series and what streaming services will eventually buy it and stream it.
Usher has also announced a national tour, which comes to his home — Atlanta — and other cities. His new album “Coming Home,” dropped in early February.
Final Word

Landmark’s Midtown Art Cinema

The mall is a little dated and so is the theater, but they do you have everything that you want here. There are a lot of screens, the rooms aren’t large (that’s nice!), and service was fast. It doesn’t compare to the shiny and oversized theaters in the suburbs, but then again, here you’ll find the Oscar winning movies alongside really well-curated films.”
Starlight Drive-In Theatre and Flea Market

3101 Cobb Pkwy #201, Atlanta, GA 30339 | (770) 937-0730
One reviewer says this: “I really enjoyed my experience at this AMC theater. The location is perfect. It is located above Main Event which is a definite plus. There are plenty of appetizing restaurants in the surrounding area that you can choose from. Parking is free. The theater is clean, however, the lady’s restroom did need more attention. It was not filthy, but it did have a strong urine scent on the left wing of stalls. The theater was large and I liked having the option of choosing and reserving my seat ahead of time. Check in was fast and efficient. The recliner seats were comfortable and well spaced from the front and back. I will definitely return to this theater again.”
AMC Dine-In Buckhead 6
3340 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 | (404) 467-9619
One reviewer says this: “Cool little spot. The bar served a good drink. The food wasn’t the best at all for the price. However, it’s a 3 in one stop. I would return and recommend to you go. I know for a party of two we both had 2 drinks, a plate of food, and a shared appetizer.”

Usher performed all the hits at his Super Bowl performance, but if you know what I know, what really stood out was that his mic was on. Yes, he was really singing out there. But also many on social media have been reacting to the spontaneous hug – from behind – that he gave to fellow singer Alicia Keys.
Usher has always been a real singer, but he’s always said, “Don’t leave your girl around me.” Have you forgotten?
Check out these live performances where Usher “got a little fresh” with the participants, from Mary J. Blige, Summer Walker and more.
Usher And Jennifer Hudson
J-Hud had to look twice and more than that as Usher laid it on thick with the crooning and swooning.
Usher Swoons Kenya Moore
Also, who knew Usher was a RHOA fan? Seriously, Kenya Moore, a former Miss America, was swept off her feet with the “OMG” singer pulled up.
Usher Finds Out She’s H.E.R.
Usher knows that H.E.R. is a beast vocally and musically, which is why he tapped her for the Super Bowl, but he’s not above sliding through either.
Victoria Monet Meet Usher, Usher Meet Victoria Monet
The “On My Mama” singer gave props to Usher and he no doubt will be producing something soon with her.
Usher Turns Summer Walker Into Autumn
In other words, he made her “fall” for him. This was when we knew Usher was on a mission during his shows. And Summer was with all the action!
Final Word
Usher is one of the most iconic singers and performers still at it today, and there’s no denying that. He represents Atlanta like no other.

The crowd was electric the night I went to see Hamilton at the fabulous Fox Theatre. The weather was on the chilly side, so the audience was largely dressed in heavy, layered clothing. I saw a lot of bubble jackets and even some minks.
Hamilton In Atlanta: What To Expect
The Fox Theatre, with its rich history in illustrious Midtown Atlanta, is the perfect venue for something like Hamilton. My seat was fairly close to the stage and so I got to see all the action pretty close up.
The show had good pacing, although I will admit the politics of it all seemed a bit much by the time the musical entered its last stanza. Some of the standout songs for me were One Shot, which was the second tune performed. Also, You’ll Be Back and the 10 Duel Commandments, which borrow heavily from Notorious Big’s song of a similar name.
Throughout it all, we got to live through the rise of Alexander Hamilton as a political statesman who rubbed shoulders with and who was himself a Founding Father of America.
Catch Hamilton In Atlanta This Weekend
- Hamilton at the Fox Theatre (Friday at 8 pm)
- Hamilton at Fox Theatre (Sat at 2 pm)
Hamilton at Fox Theatre (Sun 1 pm) - Hamilton at Fox Theatre (Sun 7 pm)
Aside from a scandalous turn with a mistress and a duel that ended tragically, Hamilton’s life played out pretty much like you would expect for a politician today.
Some of the songs were super-catchy, but the rapid-fire rhymes – spoken or sung over pulsing music – largely went over the heads of many an attendee.
If you know anything about Hamilton, you know that it has become the darling of the play circuit ever since it debuted on Broadway in 2015.
Since then, the play has garnered significant acclaim and racked up numerous Tony Award nominations, winning Best Musical and also scoring a Grammy Award and a Pulitzer Prize for its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Miranda, the show’s creator, appeared on stage for about a year before departing for good in the summer of 2016.
Miranda got the idea for the musical after reading Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton while on vacation.
The show begins with an earnest Alexander Hamilton, played spectacularly by Pierre Jean Gonzalez, thinking about his station in life and dreaming big with his comrades.
Tyler Fauntleroy, who plays John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, impresses throughout with some strong wordplay and pacing to keep the story moving, The Virginia Commonwealth alum and Succession actor shines throughout.
Deon’te Goodman (The Prince of Egypt and Freedom Riders musicals) seemed to win the audience over with his starturns as Aaron Burr, but Marcus Choi (“Wicked” and the “Flower Drum Song.” excellently cast as George Washington, held his own throughout much of the middle of the musical.
Without a doubt, Neil Haskell – whose past credits include Glee, So You Think You Can Dance and MTV’s Faking It – stole the show with his open-mouthed vocals as King George, which the crowd loved.
The beautiful Lencia Kebebe turned in a star performance as Angelica Schuymer, which helped along with Kendyl Sayuri Yokoyama (Peggy Schuymer and Maria Reynolds) to balance out the melodies with some very strong female vocals.
Final Word
Hamilton has been out now for nearly a decade and it’s still a formidable force on the stage. That’s a testament to its relevance due to the themes the musical touches on, including immigration, classicism and politics.
Will Hamilton usher in a new era of hip-hop for Broadway? That remains to be seen.
