Mellow Mushroom is set to open a new food concept here in Atlanta this summer, the company says in a press release.
The Atlanta-based stone-baked pizza joint is shaking up its look and feel thanks to a cosmetic overhaul coinciding with its 50th anniversary.
Coming To the Beltline: Mellow Mushroom
The rebranded Mellow Mushroom restaurant will be located just off a portion of the Atlanta Beltline’s Southside Trail, which is still under construction.
The 3,400-square-foot space would be housed in The Boulevard apartments in Grant Park, which opened in 2023.
The new restaurant will have dual patios overlooking the Beltline and “new, modern menu flavor profiles for both food and beverage,” according to the release.
Other Mellow Mushroom locations can expect changes as well as the company leans into an overall fresher look. It’s too early to say whether the brand will lean away from its psychedelic vibe that has served it so well, but it is incorporating a more modern look for sure.
Among the changes will be a revamped website that makes it easier to order and pay, redesigned menus, signage and a new catering channel.
Final Word
Mellow Mushroom isn’t the only great place for great pizza in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Beltline is not only for walking, jogging and people-watching, you can get some serious eats as well!

Six Feet Under Pub and Fish House, the most important seafood eatery on Atlanta’s eastside has opened a location in Buckhead.
The new Atlanta restaurant, which is housed in the former space of the ROXX Tavern, is actually a relocation. The original 6 Feet Under was on 11th Street just off Northside Drive and has now closed.
When it comes to seafood restaurants in Atlanta, Six Feet Under is underrated by many foodies. Just give this new location time and it will be one of the best places to eat in Buckhead (mark my words).
Is Six Feet Under Worth It?
Six Feet Under in Grant Park has been serving customers for decades now and there’s a good reason why: The food is good.
Here’s what one customer said about Six Feet Under recently: “This was my first visit to Six Feet Under, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony of its location right in front of a graveyard! In all seriousness, the food was quite enjoyable. I particularly loved the flavors, and their homemade lemonade is absolutely delicious! The service was exceptionally friendly, and I’ll certainly be returning in the future.”
Here’s what another said about the new Six Feet Under in Buckhead. “I’ve been to the other location but this one is just as good as well! Service is amazing and the food quality is the same. Great portion sizes with meals, I usually get one of the baskets and it never disappoints.”
What’s On The Menu At Six Feet Under?
Six Feet Under’s menu features an assortment of seafood, from appetizers like Fried Calamari and Spicy Rat Toes: spicy baked jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and wrapped with crispy bacon; salads Cajun Shrimp Salad, soups like Fish Stew and platters. My favorite is the Fried Seafood Platter and the Blackened Shrimp ‘N Grits Platter.
Where Is Six Feet Under in Buckhead?
The new Six Feet Under in Buckhead is located at 1824 Cheshire Bridge Rd, Atlanta, Ga. 30324. Here is a map to help you find it.

Buckhead gets another eatery, this time seafood. Check out our guide to Buckhead for more exploratory fun.
Memphis has its barbecue. New Orleans has its gumbo. Atlanta has its lemon pepper wings and much, much more. The largest city in Georgia’s food festivals and culinary events set the tone for the entire Southeast.

The Atlanta Falcons are in the midst of a fast-moving and thorough search for a new head coach, but they may also need a quarterback.
Enter former signal caller Cam Newton, who resides in Atlanta and started at nearby West Lake High School before winning a national college championship at Auburn University and starting got the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots.
Cam Newton: Falcons Quarterback?
Newton, speaking on a podcast with former star NFL receiver Brandon Marshall, said that there is only one place he’d consider coming back to the NFL for: the Falcons.
”Me having a family now — it’s always been about family — and I don’t see myself leaving Atlanta,” he said. “If it’s not Atlanta, I don’t want to do it.”
Marshall then brings up the possibility of a Newton and Bill Bilichick reunion, which could potentially happen because the Falcons reportedly have brought the Patriots and shoo-in future Hall of Fame coach in for two interviews.
Newton is likely a future Hall of Famer as well, having set the the all-time NFL record for rushing attempts (1,118) and rushing touchdowns (75) for a quarterback.
Falcons owner Arthur Blank is reportedly high on Bilichick as it would bring instant coaching credibility — which the Falcons have perennially lacked — along with a proven winner’s pedigree to the team.
On the other side of the coin, Falcons executives want a younger face to lead the franchise.
Final Word
Can Newton work in Atlanta? And what happens to third-year player Desmond Ridder? These and more questions will have to get answered by August 2024, when the NFL preseason starts anew.
