Atlanta is having a restaurant renaissance. Hot chicken is the rage in Atlanta’s dining scene right now. But so are chicken and waffles.
Fast-casual is also the dining trend du jour around metro Atlanta restaurants. The concept involves mixing the quick accessibility of fast food with the casual dining experience. Food in Atlanta is also adapting to the various tastes of the migrants that come here to live.

Patrons typically order off a menu board like they would at a burger joint, but the convenience of sitting down to leisurely enjoy their food has made the segment a popular one with the restaurant industry.

Sear Restaurant in downtown Atlanta is no secret to the city’s culinary gods. Tucked away on the second floor of the grand Marriott Marquis lobby, the eatery has enjoyed exclusive patronage from travelers, tourists and conventioneers.
Much like the city itself, many of its institutions are repositioning themselves as Atlanta status — bouyed by its international airport — climbs up the ranks as a global city.
Sear restaurant review: Elegant Atlanta restaurant anchors Marriott Marquis
You see it in the city’s new architecture, its growth strategy in its neighborhoods, and yes, even in its restaurants.
Amid this backdrop, I visited Sear restaurant months after a recent renovation to see how the eatery had changed.
The interior of the eatery is a beautiful tribute to American influence. The pillars have the same tone as the Statue of Liberty.

Photo credit: AtlantaFi.com The team behind the redo is Interior designer, HeCho Inc., which was enlisted to create a majestic dining atmosphere inspired by the style of legendary Atlanta Marriott Marquis architect John Portman.
Sear bills itself as a fire-inspired steakhouse, but it is much, much more. The full-service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
What’s on the menu at Sear?
For lunch, there’s Spicy Fried Chicken and Blackened Fish. The dinner menu has such favorites as Stone Mountain Pecan Grouper, Pan Seared Diver Scallops and Cauliflower Steak.
Here are some photos of the food at Sear:

Not only was the blackened fish tender as a baby’s behind, but it was seasoned to perfection.
For dessert, I had the cheesecake, which was a ideal finale for a hearty meal in the upscale Atlanta restaurant.
What are the hours of Sear restaurant?
if you want to visit Sear, you need to know when to go. Sear operates the following business schedule:
Hours
Breakfast
- Monday – Sunday: 6:30 – 11:00am
Lunch
- Monday – Sunday: 11:30am – 2:00pm
Dinner
- Monday – Sunday: 5:30 – 10:00pm

Musical act Lion Babe is set to perform in Atlanta on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at The Loft.
The New York-based duo (Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman) has grown in popularity since their 2012 debut “Treat Me Like a Fire.” Their self-titled EP would come two years later.
Lion Babe coming to Atlanta
Lion Babe is touring in support of their new album “Cosmic Wind,” which explores flavors of soul, funk, disco, and R&B.
Few people know it, but Hervey is the daughter of actress-singer Vanessa Williams and Ramon Hervey II.

When Atlanta’s City Council passed a resolution approving the nation’s first food forest, many critics scratched their heads thinking it wouldn’t work. An Atlanta food forest? No way, they said.
Indeed, the city is used to enormous plans shriveling up due to less than stellar community support or political infighting. But this time, it’s different.
Here is the location Of The Atlanta Food Forest
The city’s nonstop development has forced the hands of city planners to come up with a way to feed thousands of community residents stuck in food desserts around the city.
The location of the first food forest in the United States is 2217 Browns Mill Road, Atlanta, GA. 30315. Here’s a map to help you find the spot.
The Atlanta food forest will be bordered by the following addresses: 406 Rhinehill Rd SE, Atlanta, Ga. 30315.The location’s Fulton County tax parcel ID numbers are 14-0038-0008-007-4 and 14-0038-0008-101-5 respectively.
The 7-acre plot used to be owned by the Morgans, a couple who farmed the land. In 2016, the Conservation Fund bought the property.
City officials have been meeting to come up with a solution to the city’s numerous food deserts, which are typically in disenfranchised areas of Atlanta.
The government defines a food desert as low-income communities located more than 1 mile from fresh fruits and vegetables. Fast food restaurants don’t count.
What Kinds Of Food Will Be Available In Atlanta’s Food Forest?
The Atlanta food forest will grow a variety of fresh produce, including fruits, nuts, vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms. All of the bounty will be available for public consumption.
The project has come to fruition thanks to a grant from the U.S Forest Service’s Community Forest Program.
Fruit-bearing trees were planted over the last year, much of it by local schoolchildren. Much of the food will be available for foraging by Atlanta residents for free.
How Harvest Works At The Food Forest
Participating neighborhoods will get to harvest first in the forest, then volunteers get garden food every Wednesday (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and second Saturday (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
Atlanta has a lot of inspirational people and AtlantaFi.com is going to introduce you to many of them as well as cool places to go, great restaurants and other ATL happenings.
