With millions of Americans mostly staying home these days, it’s the perfect time to put away some cash for a rainy day.
You may find it difficult to just “save” money if you’re used to going about your daily routine and spending here and there. But there’s an easy way to accomplish your savings goals.
This article will show you some insightful ways you can save money without any effort at all. The key is to save automatically.
The Best Way To Save Money: Automatically
When we say save automatically, we don’t mean that you need to put forth the effort to remember to move your money around every pay period. We’re talking about setting up your account to make sure you take out money automatically each time you get paid.
Let’s go over some ways to save automatically.
1. Make Sure You Set Up Direct Deposit
The only way you can turn your funds into an autosaving operation is that you set up direct deposit on the same account that you send your paycheck. This way, any money that hits can be distributed to the proper channels you choose.
2. Open A Savings Account
The first thing you should do is open a savings account and pull money from your paycheck to fill it automatically. What you’ll discover is that in a matter of months, you could have a significant stash in a separate account from your main one.
Here’s what to know about opening a savings account.
3. Start A 401(K)
If your employer offers a 40a(k) retierement account, make sure you take advantage of it. Not only are they pre-tax dollars, but 401(Ks) are typically matched by your company.
That’s means if you put in $6,000 a year, you could get up to double that at the end of the year in your account.
Want to get started? Here’s what to know about a 401(k).

A good night was had by all at The Big Night Out, the three-day musical event that brought the best out of Atlanta. Rain inhibited some of the weekend, but the weather was perfect on Sunday, the last night of the event, with sunny skies and cool fall temperatures.
The set up was designed with safety in mind as metal separators were spread out to keep attendees more than 6 feet apart at Centennial Olympic Park.
Atlanta Concert Series Big Night Out Jams Downtown
The Big Night Out featured nightly concerts from these artists:
- Big Boi feat. Big Grams The Fam
- Marcus King Trio
- Moon Taxi
We caught the Big Boi set on Sunday night, and it was a workshop in musicality. He ran through some of his biggest hits with Outkast, including a bumpin’ rendition of So Fresh, So Clean. But it wasn’t all about him.
Big Boi who was accompanied by Sleepy Brown, brought out some of his Dungeon Family compadres, including Goodie Mob as well as some lesser-known artists as well, which had the crowd rocking just the same.
Because of COVID-19, restrictive measures have had to be put in place due to safety protocols. As a result, The Big Night Out is one of Atlanta’s largest socially distanced concerts to date.

Georgia Gov. Brian and First Lady have tested negative after being exposed to a person who recently tested positive for coronavirus, his office said Friday.
“The Governor is currently quarantining due to direct exposure within the last 48 hours to an individual who recently tested positive.” Kemp’s office said in a statement. “The First Lady is not known to have been exposed to a confirmed case,”

Georgia Rep. Drew Ferguson also announced that he tested positive for coronavirus. Both he and Kemp were together earlier in the week at a rally in which many people didn’t wear masks or do social distancing.
Kemp has been a strident critic of any legislation that mandates that masks be worn by Georgia residents. Instead he has opted to wear them in public and promote them at appearances.
He has employed a series of executive orders for older Georgians to shelter in place while freeing the state’s businesses to conduct operations as close to normal as they can.
In May, Kemp tweeted: “I encourage all Georgians to continue to maintain social distancing, limit their travel, and use best practices. Gatherings of more than 10 people will not be allowed unless it is possible to maintain 6 feet of distance.”

Kemp has been defiant in the face of critics who have said that Georgia is risking the lives of its residents by trying to resume normal life amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Kemp posted on Twitter recently that Georgia was ready to ramp up COVID-19 testing as it re-opens.
“We have numerous testing sites, physicians, & tests. We just need more Georgians to participate,” he said. “If you are symptomatic or work on the frontlines, download the Augusta University ExpressCare app or call 706-721-1852 to schedule a free test. RT to spread the word!”

Earlier in the year, Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms got into a public riff over her insistence on a mask mandate. Since then, the two have maintained a tense peace even as Bottoms and her family contracted COVID-19.
