Before he won the presidency and while he was a Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden visited Atlanta in June 2019, meeting with several luminaries in the city as part of a political jaunt.
Biden, the former U.S. vice president, was campaigning to challenge President Trump for the White House in the 2020 race.
Joe Biden visited Atlanta And Ate At This Soul Food Restaurant
Atlanta is a heavily Democratic base for Biden, despite the staunchly Republican leanings of many in the northern suburbs.
Biden met with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and was shepherded around town to many of the city’s favorite haunts.
There was the customary lunch at Busy Bee’s on Martin Luther King Boulevard, as well as other stops.
It was great to be back in Atlanta! Thank you to Mayor @KeishaBottoms for showing me around town and for your work expanding opportunity to every corner of the city. pic.twitter.com/kmhmeN5lHm
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) June 10, 2019Now, Busy Bee has somehow become, like, a testing ground for visiting politicians who are about to launch a campaign. Not that long ago, rapper Killer Mike brought Bernie Sanders to the joint during the 2016 election for some fried chicken.
What was not known was whether Biden had the chicken, collard greens or fried fish. Atlanta has so many soulful restaurants to choose from.

Are you looking for information on where you can get the COVID-19 vaccine in Atlanta? We’re going to tell you everything you need to know.
The COVID-19 vaccine is being distributed to all 50 states. Hospitals and medical facilities are the first priority of the 3 million initial doses that are rolling out.
By year’s end, the U.S. government plans to have 300 million doses distributed across the country. They hope that by springtime 2021, the majority of Americans will have access to the vaccine.
This article will be updated with the latest information as we learn of it.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp updated the public on the vaccine rollout in Georgia, saying, “[The Georgia Department of Public Health] and our team are ready to assist in getting the vaccine out to our most vulnerable Georgians and those fighting this virus on the front lines.”
Have COVID-19 Vaccine Vials Arrived In Atlanta?
COVID-19 vaccine vials were shipped into Atlanta and arrived the morning of Monday, Dec. 15. FedEx is handling the shipments to Georgia’s capital city. The shipments come from a Michigan facility, which is the origin point to handle shipping logistics of distributing the vials throughout the nation.
The vaccine vials are all freezer-packed because of their delicate nature and capacity to destabilize at room temperature.
According to the Georgia Department of Health, the handling requirements for each vaccine product will vary from refrigerated (2° to 8° C) to frozen (-20°C) to ultra-cold (-60° to -80°C) temperatures.
Who Will Get The Vaccine?
You may be wondering who is eligible for the vaccine in Georgia and how it will be rolled out. This is the plan, according to the federal government’s COVID-19 immunization program, Operation Warp Speed.
Phase One:
- People over age 60 with health problems
- Health care workers
- Firefighters, EMTs and other first responders
Phase Two:
- Essential workers (grocery associates, jail staff, truck drivers, etc.)
- School and child care workers
- Anyone age 60 and older with underlying conditions
Phase Three
- Those aged 21 to 30
- Moderately Exposed Industries (Hairstylists, tattoo artists, etc.)
Phase Four
Anyone else for whom the vaccine is recommended.
The CDC says that the list of groups listed in each phase is by no means all-inclusive and will be revised based on developments that arise.
What Kind Of Vaccine Has Been Shipped To Atlanta?
Atlanta may be getting different types of vaccines, but as of this writing, the city is getting the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, which is the first to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 is for use in people 16 years of age and older. The vaccine is only authorized for emergency use for as long as the pandemic lasts.
Last Words
Some vaccinations will require two doses for the patient to be inoculated. This will require that you more than likely place a reminder for the second dose due date in your smartphone calendar or a similar place.
The Department of Public Health will use the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) to collect data on COVID-19 vaccine doses administered rom health providers.

You’ve applied for the job and added your resume online and studied the top interview tips. Now you’re just waiting for your would-be employer to call you. Here’s how to prepare for a job interview in Atlanta.
You’re going to earn that job and get hired because you’re going to be prepare on the interview. Here’s how to do it.
How To Prepare For A Job Interview
No matter if you have a job interview planned with Home Depot in Smyrna, CNN downtown or with the CDC off Clifton Road in the middle of Atlanta, you need to know how to win the interview. The size of the company shouldn’t matter: If you’re ready, you’re ready.
The key is to prepare yourself well before the day of the interview. Here are five steps to do it:
1. Research The Company
To build confidence in what you know about the company you’re hiring with, you need to research it. Take your time to read up on the organization.
The only way to get comfortable is to know what you’re talking about. Some questions may be about the company’s history or recent accomplishments. Do your homework.
2. Write A Script
Write out a script of what you’re going to say on the interview. This is not a time to leave your answers and articulation to guesswork. If you actually write out what you’re going to say, it will do wonders for your nerves.
Writing out an interview script will also allow you to anticipate the pace of the conversation and where to take it.
3. Match The Job Description With Your Skills
Clearly match what the job description says and how your skills match up. The interviewer won’t be the one that ties yours skills with the requirements of the job — that’s your job.
4. Have Specific Examples Of Your Accomplishments
Don’t rely on your resume to tell your narrative. Be prepared to itemize your accomplishments in a way that brings it home. Talk about that time you saved your previous employer thousands of dollars. Mention that promotion and why you got it.
5. Anticipate The Interviewer’s Questions
The interviewer will have a set of questions that you need to be prepared for. Typically they will ask you about how you handled a less than ideal situation. They may also ask you what you feel your biggest weakness is. You’ll want to mention something that you’ve since corrected.
6. Finish Strong
As the interview nears to its conclusion, remember to smile often. Accentuate your strongest points. Gesture in the affirmative and look the interviewer in the eye when it’s appropriate.
At the end, always give a firm handshake. And always, always send a thank-you note or email a day or two after the interview.
What Are Some Signs That Your Interview Went Well?
You may be wondering after the interview if it went well. Some signs that would indicate that are:
- The interviewer tells you that it went well.
- Your references were contacted.
- Your thank-you email is well received.

New findings show that if you plan on visiting Atlanta, it’s cheaper to book a hotel than an Airbnb.
Of course, Atlanta’s Airbnbs offer some of the best homes in the Southeast, but as with anything, it needs to make financial sense.
Atlanta has some affordable apartments, but you may be inclined for a hotel or an Airbnb.
Is It Cheaper To Book A Hotel Or Airbnb?
A new report from FitSmallBusiness.com shows that renting an Airbnb in a medium-sized city like Austin or St. Louis makes way more financial sense than doing so in a major metropolitan mecca like Atlanta.
One reason for this is cities like Atlanta, New York and San Francisco have a high average housing costs. And these costs are will be added to the visitor’s bottom line.
There’s also a premium on Airbnbs in these large cities because of increasingly hostile housing regulations, which severely limit the supply of Airbnb locations. That causes their prices to rise.
To come up with the numbers, the site looked at the following criteria:
- Price (55%)
- Amenities, inclusions, travel purpose (20%)
- Availability (10%)
- Location (10%)
- Regulatory environment (5%)
Let’s look at the top cities to book hotels, then Airbnbs based on those statistics:

If you’re facing the foreclosure of your home, it can be an anxious time. In Georgia, you have good reason to be. Atlanta also has the fourth-highest share of mortgage delinquencies.
This article will show you what you need to do to stop a foreclosure in your home in Georgia.
What Is The Foreclosure Process?
The foreclosure process begins when the bank sends you notification that your home will be repossessed in a matter of days.
The actual foreclosure typically occurs on the steps of City Hall and is administered by the sheriff of the presiding county of where the property is located.
For example, to witness or take part in a foreclosure auction in Fulton County, you’d need to be on the Fulton County Courthouse steps as the sheriff’s deputy begins the process by listing properties.
By federal law, foreclosure auctions must be advertised in a newspaper of record. That’s why it’s important to check newspaper listings, especially papers that specialize in real estate listings.
In addition to newspapers, foreclosure listings can also be found:
- Legal publications
- Courthouse steps
Now that you know what to expect at a foreclosure auction, let’s talk about how to avoid it.
How Can I Stop My Home From Foreclosure?
Here are some ways you can stop your home from being foreclosed on.
1. Reach Out To Your Lender
The #1 way to avoid foreclosure is to contact your lender and see if you can renegotiate your mortgage. This may involve setting up a payment plan to catch up or agreeing to make a balloon payment.
The lender may have tried to get you to work something out earlier, but now that you’re more motivated, they may be willing to listen to what you have in mind.
2. Apply For Deferred Payments
A payment deferral moves your past-due payments to the end of your loan and brings your account current. To qualify for the deferred payment option, you typically have to:
- Contact your mortgage lender and inquire about deferred payments.
- Show them that you are able to resume regular payments after the deferred payments process.
3. Apply For Forbearance
Sometimes, the lender doesn’t want to grant you deferred payments due to your history. That’s when it’s time to ask about a forbearance plan.
Many homeowners don’t like forbearance plans because they may typically end with you owing a balloon payment at the end of the process — but it doesn’t have to end that way.
If you are able to apply and be accepted into a forbearance plan, make sure to tell the lender that you still don’t have the money to make the back payments.
The lender’s options at this point usually are to grant you a deferred payment plan or let you refinance at a more favorable rate. Let’s talk about that.
4. Refinance Your Mortgage
Because lenders ideally don’t want to get stuck with stale properties due to foreclosures, they’d rather you continue to make your mortgage payments.
One to ensure that you continue to pay is if you refinance your mortgage. This is a preferable option for lenders who know that homeowners in financial trouble.
5. Loan Modification
Similar to a refinance, a loan modification typically lowers your payments so that you can afford to begin paying your mortgage again.
Even before you miss a payment, a lender usually will be willing to set you up with a loan modification because they know that you’re still interested in paying for your mortgage.
Lenders don’t mind making loan modifications if they see that you’re sincere about repayment. In many cases, the loan modification amount will include a small fee each month to help the lender recoup what was lost during the months you didn’t pay.
6. Sell Your Home
The last resort in many foreclosure cases is for the distressed homeowner to sell their property. While this is not an ideal situation — namely because it may hurt your credit a bit — it is a viable way to get out of a mortgage you’ve fallen behind on.
If selling your home before it goes into foreclosure is your only option, make sure to try to get rid of it before it officially goes into the foreclosure process. Once a home enters the foreclosure process, the bank is presumed the owner — not you.
That means you lose all the bargaining power you previously had and you may not see a dime of the money from the sale.
Final Words
Foreclosing on a home can be a demoralizing ordeal and is not for the faint of heart, but these things do happen.
Always try to work with your mortgage lender before you get in arrears so that losing your home is never an option on the table.
To recap, here are the steps you can take to avoid having your home foreclosed on.

What came first? The chicken… or the egg? In Georgia, the answer to that question is S. Truett Cathy.
Chick-Fil-A is part and parcel made of red Georgia clay. This is indisputable ever since Cathy opened a small eatery called the Dwarf Grille opened right under Atlanta’s nose in tiny Hapeville, Georgia back in 1946.
Since then millions have become loyal fans of the restaurant known for the bad-spelling cows singing how to “Eat More Chiken.”
