Of all the important things you have to do today, sleep is perhaps the most vital. That’s why you need a good mattress and now. Are you in the market for a new, comfortable mattress?
We’re going to show you the best mattress stores in Atlanta and what real people have to say about them, in case you want to purchase one of their products.
What Company Sells The Best Mattress?
While there has been considerable expert analysis done on the best mattress brands, much of it depends on your individual preferences, weight, body frame and other personal factors.
We have researched the top mattresses that consumers use for restful sleep.
Here Are The Best Mattress Stores In Atlanta
The mattress industry is the only one that is literally dependent on people who are asleep! That doesn’t mean it’s hard to know quality from less-than-good mattress.
Let’s just say right away, that there are some great mattress options on Amazon that may be hard to beat in price:
- Ashley Furniture Signature Design – 12″ Memory Express Foam Mattress
- Linenspa 8″ Memory Foam
- Zinus Memory Foam 12″ Green Tea Mattress, Queen
- Vibe 12″ Gel Memory Foam Mattress
- Inofia Queen Mattress 12″ Hybrid Innerspring Double Mattress
The Difference Between Foam vs. Spring vs. Gel Mattresses
A spring mattress is more conventional: It has a spring in it. A memory foam mattress is good for cradling support as it yields to the curvatures and indentations created by your body. A gel mattress has been pumped with gel to assist in internal temperature cooling.
Now let’s get into what Atlanta has to offer in terms of mattress stores:

Here’s what one Google reviewer says about the Mattress Firm Midtown: “Romeo was outstanding. Walked me through different options to gauge what was the best mattress for me, talking me through how each mattress made me feel—especially important since I’ve had a lower back injury. I can’t say enough good things about the selection, prices, and customer service. When it comes to mattresses, I don’t see myself doing business with anyone but Romeo in the future.”
Casper
650 North Avenue NE Unit S203, Atlanta, GA 30308 |
Here’s what one Google reviewer says about the Casper: “I’m usually not the type to write a review, but my experience at this store was so awesome that I decided to share! The staff was amazing! Quintin, was my sales person and he was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. I tend to ask a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He also didn’t pressure me into making a purchase, which is a plus, as I usually dread going into mattress stores because of this. Quintin is now my go to guy for all things Casper!”

1335 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 | (404) 355-7606
Here’s what one Google reviewer says about the Mattress Outlet: “Love this Store!!! No pressure and to the point. Some friendly pointers as this is not a regular retail store- it’s a true factory outlet. Everything is sold As Is. No refunds, No exchanges and No warranties. Be prepared to arrange your own delivery/tie down yourself in addition to getting your scores home. You have 7 days from when you buy. PROS: 1. You Save alot of $$$ off retail 50 to 70%. 2. Name brand mattresses. 3. Easy shopping experience. 4. Knowledgable and professional. 5. No sales fluff or smoke. Direct. CONS: 1. Very hard to get them on the phone. 2. Very small staffing. (I’m sure that’s why it’s hard to get them on the phone from what I saw while I was there.) 3. What you see is what you have to choose from. They don’t have stacks of the same identical stuff in back.”
Mattress Firm
3158 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30305 | (404) 869-0510
Here’s what one Google reviewer says about the Mattress Firm: “Rodney helped me, and he was amazing! He was super helpful. Greeted me, remembered me, and took me directly to the product I was interested in, as soon as I walked in. I didn’t have my physical card with me and needed to use Apple Pay (which they don’t support). He was so patient and accommodating, and he came up with a work around that allowed me to make a web payment! Couldn’t have been happier with my experience.”Original Mattress Factory
3230 Peachtree Rd Suite #100, Atlanta, GA 30305 | (404) 237-5778
Here’s what one Google reviewer says about the Original Mattress Factory: “Absolutely amazing customer service from beginning to end. Having been a previous customer, I was happy to be updated with all of the ways things have improved since I last purchased. Al was exceptionally friendly & helpful…he knew the answers to all of our questions, and didn’t sell us on anything. The product sells itself, and his confidence & product knowledge were an excellent backdrop.”
While you can certainly shop online for a mattress, nothing beats touch. So visit your local mattress store for a brand you may have seen online. Once you try it out, you’ll know it’s the one for you.
When Is The Best Month To Shop For A Mattress?
When it comes to the best times to buy a mattress, manufacturers are typically trying to get rid of their old inventory around March and April. The reason is because new products come in around May and June, which is when most people are out shopping due to the nicer weather.
You can also look to shop around the Christmas holidays, where sales are plentiful.
How Frequently Should A Mattress Be Replaced?
If you’re only sleeping on your mattress (for the most part), you should be able to go up to 10 years on a quality mattress. Of course, there are a lot of variables, such as kids and pets.
Around year eight, you should look for signs of wear and determine whether it’s time to start shopping for a new mattress or now.
Final Word
Getting a mattress that you can actually sleep on is very important in today’s hectic world. Do your research and choose from one of top brands listed above.
With all of the traffic and long days at work, nothing beats great sleep. It may be hard to accomplish that if you don’t have something nice to sleep on.

The death spiral for Bed, Bath and Beyond has begun in some respects. The company recently executed a plan as part of its bankruptcy that would make its shares on Wall Street worthless. That means its shareholders and investors will get nothing.
What makes the development even more puzzling is that Bed, Bath and Beyond still has assets totaling about $42 million.
What Will Happen To Bed, Bath and Beyond?
Bed, Bath and Beyond stores will likely go away at some point, but it’s no telling when that will happen. The brand itself will likely remain untouched or it may go away and transition to that of its new owners, Overstock.com.
In June 2023, when Overstock announced it was buying Bed, Bath and Beyond, it seemed to have a plan in place for continuation, but that is unclear now.
“This acquisition is a significant and transformative step for us,” said Overstock CEO, Jonathan Johnson. “Bed Bath & Beyond is an iconic consumer brand, well-known in the home retail marketplace. The combination of our winning asset-light business model and the high awareness and loyalty of the Bed Bath & Beyond brand will improve the customer experience and position the Company for accelerated market share growth.”
Final Word
As part of Overstock’s takeover, it has plans to re-launch the Bed Bath & Beyond domain in Canada and overhaul its website, app and loyalty program in the United States. The plan is for new and existing customers of both Overstock and Bed Bath & Beyond will experience a single online shopping destination. Will it work? We’ll see.

The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Auburn Tigers 27-20 on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. Although the Dawgs’ offense didn’t produce much, Coach Kirby Smart relied on a stout second-half defense to lock in the win.
If you watch the Georgia Bulldogs, you’ll see a college football team trying to live up to its #1 ranking.
Georgia Gets Another Scare
Georgia continues to play just well enough to win the close games. After falling behind 14-3 to South Carolina last week, the Dawgs again played from behind early.
“We’re not going to get where we want to go if we don’t get better,” Smart said in postgame comments. “That’s the biggest thing.”
Georgia’s Run Defense Falters
Georgia’s normally stout front seven had trouble with Auburn’s offensive line, which opened up some huge lanes.
The Bulldogs gave up 219 yards on the ground, the most ever in Smart’s UGA tenure. Smart said he understood critics’ take on his defense, but he said that what they produced is par for the league today.
“I don’t think people respect playing on the road in the SEC as much as I do,” Smart was quoted as saying. “Being an SEC player, a veteran of this league, it is really, really hard to win on the road.”
Bowers Comes Up Big
Although Georgia could get little else going on the offensive end, they had all they needed in tight end Brock Bowers. He finished with four catches for 121 yards, including some major third downs.
Auburn Coach Hugh Freeze had nothing but praise for the Tigers, who jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but were slowed down in a big way after the first three quarters.
“I’m really proud of our kids, but it hurts in there right now,” Freeze said after the game. “And that’s good to see. It hurts. It hurts those kids and our coaches, and our fans I’m sure, too. You have a chance to beat the No. 1 team in the country — back-to-back national champions — at home. The feeling that you get if you can pull that off is just ecstatic.”
Final Play
With the win, the Bulldogs add a significant notch in its belt since many have said that Georgia’s schedule is not as strong as other contenders.
The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) remained unbeaten in the SEC and still stake their claim to No. 1.

Prolific restaurateur Ford Fry is back in the kitchen cooking up another new Atlanta restaurant: Little Sparrow.
The eatery opened the last weekend to the general public. Little Sparrow hosted an “Opening Party” on September 30, 2023 at 7 p.m. Tickets are sold out.
Little Sparrow is joined by Bar Blanc, a French-inspired bar concept and another endeavor from Fry’s Rocket Farm Restaurants group.
“As I get older, I grow less inspired by restaurants that try too hard or let ‘interesting’ overtake ‘delicious’,” Fry said in a press release. “I am inspired by restaurants that cook food I want to eat. Little Sparrow will be a place to indulge in a refined dining experience or just grab a perfect medium-rare burger and fries.”
Little Sparrow will be housed in the space formerly occupied by Ford’s JTC Kitchen, which closed in 2021.
Where Is Little Sparrow Located?
Little Sparrow is located at 1198 Howell Mill Road in the Westside Provisions District.
