It’s been a banner year for college football and if you’re a Georgia Bulldogs fan, it’s been great: packed stadiums, national ranking, double-digit wins. But you have to wonder, what teams are other fans watching?
To find out, we’ve compiled the top 10 most-watched teams based on Nielsen’s Big Data + Panel ratings through the end of the 2025 regular season (the most recent comprehensive update available as of late December 2025).
What College Football Teams Are the Most Watched?
These rankings reflect average viewership per game across Nielsen-measured broadcasts (e.g., ABC, FOX, NBC, ESPN, CBS).
Note that games on networks like SEC Network, ACC Network, and CBS Sports Network are not included in Nielsen’s data, which may slightly understate totals for some SEC and ACC teams. Overall college football viewership is up 2% year-over-year using this methodology.
The SEC owned eight of the top 10 spots, underscoring the conference’s unrivaled draw amid a season of thrilling matchups and playoff implications. Here’s the list, ranked by average viewers per game:
Rank Team Conference Average Viewers (Millions) 1 Alabama SEC 8.49 2 Texas SEC 7.55 3 Georgia SEC 7.48 4 Ohio State Big Ten 6.57 5 Oklahoma SEC 6.47 6 LSU SEC 6.42 7 Tennessee SEC 6.21 8 Auburn SEC 5.26 9 Michigan Big Ten 5.08 10 Texa A&M SEC 4.99 Key Insights:
- Alabama’s Lead: The Crimson Tide topped the charts thanks to marquee games like their Week 1 loss to Florida State (10.66M viewers) and a Week 5 win over Georgia (10.4M), both on ABC.
- SEC Surge: The conference’s seven entries align with ABC airing nine of the season’s 10 most-watched games, including the record Week 1 Texas-Ohio State clash (16.62M).
- Non-SEC Standouts: Ohio State benefited from the season’s biggest game, while Notre Dame and Miami drew from high-stakes ACC/Independent matchups like Miami-Notre Dame (10.81M).
- Caveats: These averages are from measured games only; Tennessee’s figure excludes six SEC Network broadcasts, potentially boosting their true average.
These rankings may shift slightly with postseason data, but they capture the regular season’s viewer trends. If you’d like breakdowns by specific games or conference comparisons, let me know!
Final Word
As we wrap up the 2025 college football regular season here in Athens, Georgia—home of the Bulldogs, who clocked in at a strong No. 3 with massive SEC-fueled viewership—Nielsen’s latest data highlights the teams that dominated TV screens across the nation.

After capping off an 11-1 regular season with a commanding 28-7 thrashing of Alabama in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kirby Smart’s squad enters the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff as the No. 3 overall seed – and a first-round bye to boot.
It’s been a 2025 season that tested Georgia’s mettle early on, but the Bulldogs turned every challenge into a statement.
A gritty 16-9 victory over in-state rival Georgia Tech on Nov. 28 – the first neutral-site Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate since 1913, hosted right here in Atlanta – propelled them into the conference title clash with renewed fire.
That win, coupled with Texas A&M’s stumble against Texas the following weekend, vaulted Georgia from No. 5 to No. 4 in the penultimate CFP rankings released on Dec. 2.
Now, with the committee’s final reveal set for noon ET today on ESPN, projections from NCAA.com, The Athletic, USA TODAY, and CBS Sports all point to the Dawgs locking down the No. 2 spot behind a shocking Big Ten champion Indiana.
“Georgia is the team to be feared right now,” said ESPN analyst Scott Dochterman in a pre-selection breakdown. “They’ve got the resume, the eye test, and home-field advantage written all over them.”
Indeed, the Bulldogs’ only blemish – a narrow loss to Alabama back in September – feels like ancient history after dismantling the Crimson Tide.
Defensively, Georgia held Bama to just 210 total yards, a fitting exclamation point on a unit that’s allowed fewer than 15 points per game since mid-September.
For Atlanta fans, this isn’t just a Georgia story – it’s our story. Sanford Stadium will host a first-round playoff game if the Dawgs stay in the top four, turning Athens into a December madhouse just a stone’s throw from the Peach State capital.
“The energy in this city when Georgia’s rolling is unmatched,” Smart said post-championship, his voice echoing through a raucous Mercedes-Benz crowd. “We’ve got unfinished business, and we’re ready to chase that ring.”
A Bracket Shaped by Championship Chaos
The road to the Jan. 19 national championship in Miami Gardens, Fla., takes a new form this year with the 12-team format, blending automatic bids for conference champions, at-large selections, and byes for the top four seeds.
The weekend’s title games delivered drama and clarity in equal measure, setting the stage for today’s big unveil.
Indiana’s improbable 13-10 upset over defending champ Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship cements the Hoosiers as the projected No. 1 seed – a Cinderella run under second-year coach Curt Cignetti that’s being hailed as one of college football’s greatest turnarounds. “Believe it: Indiana is the Big Ten champ and the College Football Playoff’s No. 1,” crowed The Athletic’s pre-reveal projections.
Texas Tech, meanwhile, stormed the Big 12 with a 34-7 demolition of BYU, earning the conference’s auto-bid and a likely top-four seed.
The Red Raiders’ 12-1 mark and explosive offense have them slotted at No. 3 in most mocks.
Georgia’s SEC crown guarantees an auto-bid, but their body of work – including blowout wins over Tennessee, Auburn, and now Alabama – has experts tabbing them for the No. 2 bye. That positions the Bulldogs to host a quarterfinal clash in the Sugar Bowl (New Orleans) or Fiesta Bowl (Glendale, Ariz.), depending on bracketing.
The at-large battle is where things get spicy, particularly for bubble teams like Alabama (10-3 after their SEC title rout), Notre Dame (11-1 independents), Miami (10-2), and James Madison (11-1 Sun Belt champs).
Before the seedlings were finalized, CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford projected Alabama sneaking in at No. 9 despite three losses, including two by 21+ points, edging out Notre Dame and the Hurricanes.
“The committee would have to devalue the SEC Championship for the first time ever to leave Bama out,” Crawford noted. USA TODAY agrees, but warns JMU’s 11-game win streak – capped by a Sun Belt title – could steal a spot if the Dukes crack the top 12.
Projected 12-Team Bracket: How It Stacks Up
Based on consensus from NCAA.com, The Athletic, USA TODAY, and ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura, here’s a snapshot of the expected field entering today’s reveal:
Seed Team Conference Notes 1 Indiana Big Ten (Champ) Undefeated; hosts first round 2 Ohio State Big Ten 11-1; dominant bye 3 Georgia SEC (Champ) 12-1; blowout over Bama; bye 4 Texas Tech Big 12 (Champ) 12-1; blowout win vs. BYU 5 Oregon PAC 12 10-2; edged Virginia in OT 6 Ole Miss At-Large
10-2; SEC runner-up7 Texas A&M At-Large 10-2; pre-title ranking holdover 8 Oklahoma At-Large 10-2; SEC runner-up 9 Alabama At-Large 10-3; SEC title loss hurts 10 Miami ACC runner-up 10-2; strong resume, in conference 11 Tulane At-Large 10-2; Big 12 runner-up 12 James Madison Sun Belt (Champ) 11-1; G5 auto-bid First-round matchups could include:
No. 9 Alabama vs. No. 8 Oklahoma
Fri. Dec. 19, 8 ET | ESPN & ABCNo. 10 Miami vs. No. 7 Texas A&M
Sat. Dec. 20, Noon ET | ESPN & ABCNo. 11 Tulane vs. No. 6 Ole Miss
Sat. Dec. 20, 3:30 ET | TNT & HBO MAXNo. 12 James Madison vs. No. 5 Oregon
Sat. Dec. 20, 7:30 ET | TNT & HBO MAXEyes on the Prize: Georgia’s Path Forward
If the projections hold, Georgia’s journey begins in the quarterfinals, where they could face the winner of Texas A&M-Notre Dame.
The Irish, led by a balanced attack and elite defense, present a tough out, while the Aggies boast SEC pedigree. But don’t count out the Dawgs’ depth – a transfer portal haul in January 2025 reloaded the roster, and Beck’s leadership has this group believing.
For Atlanta, it’s more than brackets and byes. It’s the echo of “How ‘Bout Them Dawgs?” chants from last night’s watch parties at Midtown taverns to the tailgates already forming in Athens.
As the committee deliberates, one thing’s clear: Georgia isn’t just in the playoff – they’re built to win it.
Tune in at noon for the official reveal, and keep it locked to AtlantaFi.com for live updates, analysis, and what it means for our Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!

In a plot twist straight out of Hawkins, Indiana, the beloved exterior of the Wheeler family home from Netflix’s Stranger Things has been snapped up by a pair of super-fans right here in metro Atlanta.
The unassuming two-story brick residence at 2530 Piney Wood Lane in East Point—familiar to millions as the backdrop for Eleven’s awkward teen hangouts and family dinners—sold for $365,000 on October 27, just weeks before the show’s highly anticipated fifth and final season drops on November 26.
Stranger Things Home Purchased by Super-Fans
The new owners, a couple who relocated to the Atlanta area in 2021, couldn’t hide their disbelief when the deal closed. “We didn’t think it would ever be possible,” the wife told Homes.com.
For years, the duo—avid Stranger Things enthusiasts—would cruise by the 1963-built, 2,466-square-foot charmer during drives through the quiet East Point neighborhood, dreaming of one day calling it their own.
Little did they know, fate (or perhaps a Demogorgon-sized stroke of luck) had other plans.
Love stranger things? Read up on Atlanta film locations.
The house, with its retro wood-paneled living room, cozy brick fireplace, and sliding doors opening to a back patio, oozes authentic 1980s nostalgia—perfect for evoking the eerie vibes of the Upside Down.
While interior scenes were filmed on soundstages elsewhere, the exterior has become a pilgrimage site for fans, drawing admirers from across the globe to snap photos of its familiar facade.
The buyers’ journey to homeownership reads like a feel-good episode script.
Already rooted in East Point after purchasing another property in the area, the couple first learned of the listing via social media. The wife, who once appeared as an extra on the show, wasted no time looping in their real estate agent, Giovany Gonzalez-Rios of Keller Williams Realty Metro Atlanta.
Their initial offer was edged out in a bidding war, but as a savvy backup, it sprang to life when the top bidder backed out.
“We paid $15,000 over asking to make it happen,” Gonzalez-Rios revealed, recounting the couple’s determination.
A heartfelt letter to Netflix, emphasizing their commitment to preserving the home’s legacy, may have sealed the deal—though the streaming giant hasn’t commented publicly. “Once I got the confirmation, they were ecstatic,” the agent added with a grin. “Everything happens for a reason.”
For this growing family, the purchase is more than a celebrity address; it’s a canvas for new memories. In the midst of adopting children, the couple envisions raising their kids amid the same whimsical walls that sheltered Mike, Nancy, and the gang.
“We are growing our family through adoption and hope that our children will enjoy their childhood just as much as the Wheeler kids did,” they wrote in a note shared with the neighborhood. “We will honor the neighborhood and the legacy of this house and will be available for any future projects and/or reunions.”
Renovations? Not on the horizon, at least not the drastic kind. The pair plans to keep the home’s iconic charm intact, opting for subtle updates to blend modern comfort with mid-century flair. They’ll ease into the move over Thanksgiving weekend, renting out their current East Point residence in the meantime.
And to fellow fans: You’re welcome to slow down for a peek—just no portal-hopping onto the lawn.
As Stranger Things bids farewell next month, this East Point gem ensures the Wheeler house’s story endures, now starring a real-life family ready to flip the script on happily ever after.

The Peach State’s vibrant film scene is getting a dose of HBCU magic as production crews for Netflix’s highly anticipated A Different World reboot descend on Atlanta this month.
After a successful pilot shoot over the summer, the sequel series—picking up the legacy of the iconic 1980s sitcom—begins principal photography on November 15, transforming historic Black colleges and universities into the bustling campus of Hillman College once more.
A Different World Filming in Atlanta
Fans of the original series, which chronicled the trials, triumphs, and laughter of Black college life from 1987 to 1993, have been buzzing since Netflix, which loves Atlanta, greenlit the 10-episode single-camera comedy earlier this year.
The reboot centers on Deborah Wayne (played by Tony-nominated newcomer Maleah Joi Moon), the sharp-witted youngest daughter of fan-favorite couple Whitley Gilbert-Wayne (Jasmine Guy) and Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison).
As Deborah navigates her freshman year at Hillman, the show promises to blend nostalgic callbacks with fresh takes on modern campus culture, friendship, and self-discovery
Who’s Been Cast in A Different World?
Pride, alongside returning heavyweights like director Debbie Allen—who helms the premiere episode—and writers Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood, is steering the series toward a February 2026 premiere.
“It is such an honor to be a part of bringing back this iconic show, one that I grew up on and which had a profound impact on my life,” Pride says in a Netflix article. “I am so proud of the work we’re doing to reimagine A Different World for beloved fans and new generations alike.”
Filming kicks off at Clark Atlanta University, site of the summer pilot, before moving to Morehouse College and other local gems like Spelman and Georgia State for exterior shots.
Production runs through late April, but November’s schedule is packed with key scenes capturing Hillman’s lively quad life—think step shows, dorm room heart-to-hearts, and those unforgettable cafeteria debates.
Local extras from Atlanta’s thriving theater scene are already lining up, with casting calls emphasizing diverse ATL talent.
The ensemble cast blends fresh faces with original stars, ensuring the spirit of Hillman endures. Joining Moon are Alijah Kai as the free-spirited Rashida, Chibuikem Uche as aspiring activist Kojo, Cornell Young IV as basketball hopeful Shaquille, Jordan Aaron Hall as tech-savvy Amir, and Kennedi Reece as fashion-forward Hazel.
Original cast members Guy, Hardison, Darryl M. Bell (Ron Johnson), and Cree Summer (Freddie Brooks) reprise their roles in recurring arcs, delighting longtime viewers.
Debbie Allen, whose choreography defined the original’s cultural footprint, teased more details in an Essence interview: “We’re bringing back the joy, the rhythm, the real talk. Atlanta’s got that soul—we’re just amplifying it for a new generation.”
For Atlantans, the reboot isn’t just entertainment—it’s an economic boost. The Georgia Film Office reports that Netflix projects like this inject millions into local businesses, from caterers in Southwest Atlanta to wardrobe houses in Midtown.
A recent cast reunion at Home Depot’s headquarters drew hundreds, sparking calls for pop-up watch parties across the city.
Final Word
As crews roll in this week, keep an eye out for Dwayne Wayne’s signature flip-up glasses on Peachtree Street. A Different World isn’t just returning—it’s reclaiming its spot as a love letter to Black excellence, filmed right in our backyard.

ATLANTA, GA – As the leaves turn and the air chills in the Peach State, Netflix fans are buzzing with anticipation for the long-awaited finale to one of television’s most iconic sci-fi horror sagas.
Stranger Things Season 5, the epic conclusion to the Duffer Brothers’ Upside Down odyssey, is set to drop in a staggered release format designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats through the holiday season.
With production wrapping earlier this year and a star-studded world premiere lighting up Hollywood just last night, the end is nigh for Eleven, Mike, and the Hawkins crew—and Atlanta’s movie-loving community couldn’t be more thrilled.
A Phased Premiere: Building to the Ultimate Showdown
Unlike previous seasons’ binge-friendly drops, Stranger Things 5 will unfold in three electrifying volumes, ensuring maximum suspense as Vecna’s reign of terror reaches its climax. Here’s the breakdown:
- Volume 1 (Episodes 1-4): Premieres November 26, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT. This Thanksgiving-timed launch kicks off the action with a runtime-heavy opener titled “The Crawl,” clocking in at over 90 minutes, followed by three more pulse-pounding installments. Co-creator Ross Duffer has teased that the season sprints out of the gate in “chaos,” picking up right after the heroes’ defeat in Season 4.
- Volume 2 (Episodes 5-7): Drops on December 25, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT. Santa’s delivering more Upside Down dread this Christmas, with three episodes that promise to deepen the emotional stakes for our favorite ’80s teens-turned-adults.
- The Finale (Episode 8): Airs on December 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT. Ring in the New Year with the series’ grand send-off, a two-hour spectacle directed by none other than The Shawshank Redemption helmer Frank Darabont, who came out of retirement for this gig.
This innovative release strategy, confirmed by Netflix and the Duffer Brothers, mirrors the two-volume approach of Season 4 but amps up the drama with holiday tie-ins. “We’re giving fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for—big, emotional, and unforgettable,” the creators shared in a recent Tudum interview.
Back to the Beginning: Teasers and Twists
Excitement hit fever pitch on Stranger Things Day (November 6, 2025), when Netflix surprise-dropped the first five minutes of the premiere episode during a virtual watch party following the L.A. world premiere.
The chilling opener flashes back to 1983, revisiting young Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) harrowing abduction into the Upside Down by the Demogorgon—before dragging him straight to Vecna’s lair for a sinister promise: “You and I, we are going to do such beautiful things together, William.”
It’s a gut-wrenching nod to the show’s origins, revealing long-buried secrets about Will’s trauma and setting the stage for the gang’s final stand against the interdimensional overlord.
The official trailer, unveiled just days ago, doubles down on the nostalgia and nightmare fuel: Hawkins under military quarantine, fresh Vecna visions tormenting the ensemble, and the core cast—Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, and more—reunited for one last battle in the fall of 1987
Duffer hinted that the season dives into the “darkness” ahead, with themes of loss and redemption echoing louder than ever. 3
Atlanta’s Connection: From Sets to Screens
While the show’s heart beats in Hawkins, Indiana, Atlanta’s role in the Stranger Things universe can’t be overstated.
The series has filmed extensively in Georgia, transforming local spots like the Douglas County Courthouse (standing in for Hawkins High) and Atlanta’s own streets into portals of peril. Season 5 wrapped principal photography in metro Atlanta earlier this year, boosting the local economy and drawing film industry talent to the state.
With Pinewood Atlanta Studios as a key hub, the production employed hundreds of Georgians, from grips to VFX wizards crafting those mind-bending Upside Down effects.
Local fans are gearing up for watch parties at spots like the Plaza Theatre, where Stranger Things-themed marathons have become a holiday tradition. “It’s like saying goodbye to childhood friends,” said Atlanta native and film buff Sarah Jenkins, echoing sentiments from the red carpet where stars like Millie Bobby Brown called the premiere “the funeral of the show.”
The event, held at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatres, saw the full cast— including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Maya Hawke, and Jamie Campbell Bower—strut in Upside Down-inspired couture, from Eleven’s punk edge to Vecna’s gothic menace.
Why It Matters: The Legacy of a Cultural Phenomenon
Since its 2016 debut, Stranger Things has redefined streaming TV, blending ’80s pop culture homage with heart-pounding horror and a killer synth soundtrack.
With over a billion hours viewed worldwide, it’s not just a show—it’s a movement that’s spawned spin-offs (like the upcoming Stranger Things: Dark Place stage play) and economic booms for filming hubs like Atlanta.
Season 5, penned amid the 2023 WGA strike and helmed by the Duffers’ signature vision, promises to tie up loose ends: Will Vecna fall? What’s the true cost of closing the gate? And who survives the Hawkins apocalypse?
As we count down to November 26, Atlanta’s cinephiles are reminded of the magic that happens when storytelling meets Southern hospitality. Grab your Eggo waffles, dim the lights, and prepare for one last trip to the Upside Down. The final season isn’t just an ending—it’s the event of the year.

Another marriage has ended in Atlanta’s word of reality TV.
Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia have called it quits after about a year and a half of marriage, according to People Magazine. The couple, who starred on Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, announced on February 22, 2024 that they are getting a divorce.
Porsha, and Simon, a Nigerian-born businessman, got married in a traditional Nigerian ceremony in November 2022.
The couple had a whirlwind romance on and off the screen as they got engaged in May 2021. What followed were magical trips to Africa, including one in which Porsha an ancestry DNA test confirmed that she was 44% Nigerian, from the same part of the nation where Guobadia’s mom is from.
Back then Porsha was a ball of energy and so excited about her nuptials.
“I am ridiculously excited,” Williams told People Magazine before the wedding. “I am just so ready. I’m not even nervous. I mean, I know I’m marrying the love of my life, and it’s just going to solidify our relationship and our family bond. I’m calm and excited.”
Why Are Porsha and Simon Guobadia Divorcing?
There’s no official word yet on why the Guobadias are ending their marriage, although there may be some indications.
The news of the divorce comes as Porsha announced that she will return to RHOA for its 16th season. She is also set to produce scripted shows with NBCUniversal.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family,” she said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to being back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and showing the world my new world!”
Real Housewives of Atlanta Divorces
Is there something in the water, or better yet, the sweet tea. RHOA has been plagued by divorces since its inception.
- In 2005, cast member Lisa Wu married former NFL player Ed Hartwell. He filed for divorce on August 24, 2011; it was finalized October 7, 2011.
- May 5, 2023 — Former NFL player Kroy Biermann and Kim Zolciak-Biermann each filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage.
- In 2014, Porsha famously divorced former NFL player Kordell Stewart. Per the divorce agreement, she received none of his retirement money or assets.
- 2007 — Shereé Whitfield’s and former NFL player Bob Whitfield divorced after seven years of marriage, just before RHOA’s premiere episode.

Looking back atit, the performance was relatively short, but boy, was it powerful. Remember when comedian and actor Katt Williams was having a rough time in 2018? That’s when Donald Glover tapped him to star in an episode of the hit show Atlanta FX. It’s called “Alligator Man.”
The two talked about Williams winning an Emmy for the role, but who knows if they both had it planned all along: Williams went on to win an Emmy for his portrayal of “Alligator Man,” which was the name of the episode at the sttart of Season 3 of Atlanta.
