Pancake Social’s all-day breakfast and coffee philosophy will work well with crew members and others on movie sets that work around the clock. The eatery, which will serve patrons eight different types of pancakes, will be joining a coffee shop and outdoor seating area.
The Pinewood location would be the second metro area Pancake Social, which is set to open its doors soon at Ponce City Market.
Backing the restaurant is culinary heavy hitters such as chef Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia and Star Provisions), who has won a James Beard Award. Also involved are Tony Riffel, co-founder of Octane Coffee Company and Elevator Factory, former Chick-Fil-A executive Dan Jacobson, who owns Steel Wave Ventures and Steven Chan, founder of Tin Drum Asian Kitchen.

When it comes to all the wonderful Cajun dishes like et toufee, gumbo and anything with crawfish, Louisiana Bistreaux in East Point and Decatur rule the roux. Now, Louisiana Bistreaux in Buckhead will too.
Louisiana Bistreaux is set to open a Buckhead location in mid-2019, according to news reports. This will be the restaurant’s third metro Atlanta location.
Hampton Inn restaurant: Louisiana Bistreaux in Buckhead
The restaurant will open inside the Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Buckhead Place located off Piedmont Road and Peachtree Road, WhatNowAtlanta reports.
As Cajun cuisine goes in metro Atlanta, there have been many that have tried to master (imitate) it, but the results have fallen flat. But inside the perimeter, Louisiana Bistreaux has came the closest to authenticity.
Dishes like Cajun BBQ Shrimp, Crawfish Combo and Eggplant Atchafalaya have been standouts in the two metro Atlanta locations. As the restaurant continues to expand, Louisiana Bistreaux is poised to give seafood king Pappadeaux, which has two metro Atlanta locations, a run for its money.

If you have a home lingering for sale on the market in metro Atlanta, 2019 is going to be more challenging, according to new industry figures.
Rates and home prices will rise, according to Realtor.com’s 2019 housing forecast. Mortgage rates are expected to hit 5.5% by the end of 2019, while, monthly mortgage payments will surge 8%.
Atlanta real estate forecast for 2019
It all translates into making home ownership further out of reach for metro Atlantans, especially for younger Gen-Z, millennial and other first-time homebuyers. Conversely, that won’t be the case for upscale buyers.
“Inventory will continue to increase next year, but unless there is a major shift in the economic trajectory, we don’t expect a buyer’s market on the horizon within the next five years,” said Danielle Hale, chief economist for realtor.com®. “Unfortunately for buyers, it’s only going to get more costly to buy, especially the most-demanded entry level real estate. To be successful, buyers should think through how they’ll adapt to higher rates and prices.”
In the metro Atlanta’s north Fulton suburbs, prices will rise 3% while the sales percentage will drop by about 2%. Don’t worry, it will still be a seller’s market, but homes will be expected to linger a bit more.
