Vivica A. Fox is back with a new movie about an affluent woman who gets into a romantic affair with a billionaire — and it’s set in Atlanta’s priciest ZIP code: Buckhead.
In the new film, “Kinky,” Fox plays Dr. Joyce Richardson, a surgeon who begins a sexual journey with billionaire investor, Darrin Wethington. After a few months of dating, the couple begin exploring their most kinky sexual fantasies, leading them into a world of BDSM and hardcore sexual exploration.
Vivica Fox movie filmed in Buckhead
No word yet on what the film will be rated, but it has just recently been acquired by Patriot Releasing, a full service theatrical Distribution company. The movie hopes to appeal to the “50 Shades of Grey” set, but with an African-American twist.
The movie was written and directed by Jean Claude Lamarre (Chocolate City), and stars Dawn Richard (Danity Kane), Robert Ri’Chard (Coach Carter), Eurika Pratts (Black Magic) and Gary Dourdan (CSI).
Look for “Kinky” in theaters on October 12, 2018.

The Atlanta Dream almost made an epic comeback against the Seattle Storm on Friday, July 6 in McCamish Pavilion, but it was not to be. The final score, 95 to 86, doesn’t really show how close the game was.
The Dream were paced by Angel McCoughtry, who scored 26 points, and Tiffany Hayes, who pumped in 23.
Atlanta looked like they were going to run away with the game in the early going, jumping out to a 9-2 lead. But the Storm scored 14 of the next 15 points and led the rest of the way.
Seattle, led by Breanna Stewart’s 29 points, dominated the first half and at one point led by 19 points, before the Dream staged a furious rally.

Every time Atlanta mounted consecutive buckets, Stewart, or Sue Bird (18 points) would counter. The Storm were nine of 20 from 3-point range.
Atlanta (8-9) hosts the Phoenix Mercury at home on Sunday, July 8.

Poet and American matriarch Maya Angelou wielded the written and spoken word like no other. Now those inspiring sentiments will be sprinkled on your favorite things. Caged Bird Legacy LLC, African American Expressions is debuting several products in Atlanta next week with Angelou’s imprint on them.

The hot chicken wars are literally heating up in Atlanta, Hattie B’s is slated to come to the city. Its doors are slated to open on July 12, according to news reports.
The restaurant is owned and run by the Bishop family out of Tennessee, specifically Nick Bishop Sr. and his son Nick Bishop Jr. The duo plan to open shop in what was formerly a Philips gas station smack-dab in the middle of Little 5 Points in MIdtown Atlanta.
New Atlanta restaurant opening: Hattie B’s
”We gravitate to unique buildings, often with a history, where we can express our brand and create an entertaining dining experience,” Bishop, Jr. told Eater. “We have an appreciation for historic buildings; especially these days as many are torn down. It takes time when you’re renovating a historic structure because you want to honor the history of the building while modernizing it and making it into a restaurant.”
If you know anything about Hattie B’s, you know that their chicken comes in tiers, or should we say, tears, due to the spiciness!
