Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is one of the best Atlanta restaurants on the Beltline. The eatery has opened its “Greenhouses in the Grove” for safe, outdoor group dining throughout the chilly winter season.
Ladybire’s Greenhouses in the Grove is a great gathering spot for holiday dining as well as COVID-safe fun.
Thee Greenhouses are located in Ladybird’s outdoor Grove area and are equipped with cozy electric fireplaces, twinkling lights, lush greenery and communal tables.
How To Reserve The Greenhouses At Ladybird
The Greenhouses can be reserved for two hours for groups of up to 10 at $40/hour, and guests can order from Ladybird’s a la carte menu.
Here are some other guest favorites on the menu at The Greenhouses:
- The Double Stack Cheeseburger
- Whole Smoked Chicken with one wood-smoked chicken, skillet cornbread, mac-n-cheese, potato salad, and white BBQ sauce
- Backyard BBQ Board with pulled pork, St. Louis-style ribs, local cheddarwurst, mac-n-cheese, potato salad, bourbon BBQ sauce

Are Atlanta Restaurants Open For Dine-In?
Many Atlanta restaurants also accommodate dine-in customers while still prioritizing the health and safety of their customers and workers. That means they still may have all or some of the following safety procotols:
- Social distancing
- Mandatory Masks unless eating
- Temperature checks for employees
- Gloves and masks for employees

Here’s what one reviewer says about Apres Diem: “Great outdoor seating! Loved the huge patio for lunch and brunch. The sandwiches were tasty. They have a good variety of appetizers. I would go back again!”
BQE Restaurant & Lounge
262 Edgewood Ave. NE, Atlanta, 404-996-6159
Here’s what one reviewer says about BQE Restaurant: “The service at the bar was great and the food was delicious. Georgia is unique in a way as they are regulated to selling alcohol after 11am. If you are wanting the bottomless mimosas, please make a reservation, as you cannot order the bottomless mimosa at the BAR! That’s right makes no sense to me either!”
Escobar Restaurant & Tapas
327 Peters St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30313 404-941-7907
Here’s what one reviewer says about Escobar: “The food was excellent! The hosts are gorgeous! The atmosphere is amazing! The drinks are strong! And this place is all out worth you spending some time to enjoy yourself.”
Lazy Llama Cantina

Pancake Social
675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 | (678) 609-8696
Pancake Social opened its doors at Ponce City Market in late spring 2019. The 150-seat restaurant and coffeehouse serves breakfast all day and gets rave reviews
Here’s what one reviewer says about Pancake Social: “Very clean inside, all the staff wore masks and were very helpful and polite. The food was so fresh! I had the pancake special and the eggs were generous, and creamy! The mimosa was strong! Very good and the pancake was perfect- they are large and not too thick, so one was just enough to eat. Will be back!”
Patria Cocina
1039 Grant St SE, Atlanta, GA 30315 | (404) 622-3501
Patria Cocina opened in Grant Park’s Beacon development in late 2018. The Mexican-inspired restaurant serves strong Margaritas, righteous tacos and top-notch burritos. Here’s what’s on the menu at Patria Cocina.
Here’s what one reviewer says about Patria Cocina: “Off the charts. Went here with my family for my birthday and everything I put in my mouth was ridiculously delicious. The Cozuela margarita was beautifully presented in a bowl with half a grapefruit, orange, and lime. One of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Chicken enchiladas and guacamole were both crazy good. First time visiting but definitely not the last.”
Flying Biscuit Cafe
Atlanta Locations:
- 1001 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 | (404) 874-8887
- 1655 McLendon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 | (404) 687-8888
- 857 Collier Rd NW Suite 16, Atlanta, GA 30318 | (404) 816-3152
Here is what one reviewer says about the Flying Biscuit: “The grits here are amazing (and I usually don’t like grits) but they are the best thing that we had. The jelly is great tasting also but unfortunately the biscuits are hard and dry and I only used some of it to get the jelly in my mouth. The restaurant could use a thorough cleaning. Be aware that they do require masks and one of the staff was telling customers to get a mask on. That took a star off for me.”
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken
Atlanta Locations:
- 231 Peachtree Street NW A-05 The Mall, Atlanta, GA 30303| (404) 996-2837

- 6518 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 | (678) 974-2466
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is the longest-running chain serving hot chicken. After expanding in the Atlanta market a few years ago with a restaurant downtown, Gus’s has big plans to open up several more locations in metro Atlanta.
Here’s what one reviewer says of Gus’s hot chicken: “Every year I have the pleasure of visiting Atlanta for a cheer competition. Well we stumbled into Gus’s one night when we were starved & it was the best decision we made. Every year I cannot wait to go back to Atlanta just for Gus’s chicken . The chicken is dredged through a heavenly concoction of spices and flour that just set your tastebuds wild. The chicken can be spicy to some lightweights like my daughter, but it barely even sends alarms to me & sister. It is worth the visit any time you are near Atlanta. You will never find better fried chicken. Let’s talk about the Mac n cheese. Oh my gosh, such delicious creamy cheesy goodness. The beans are good as well, but nothing compares to that Mac!”

- 9000 Avalon Way, Alpharetta, GA 30009 | (678) 722-3602
Here is what one reviewer says about South City Kitchen: “If your looking for a great bowl of Shrimp & Grits on a cold rainy day or a sunny day you will not be disappointed at South City Kitchen- Best I have had- Comes with homemade Biscuits & Cornbread- Sweet tea to drink – Makes my mouth water just thinking about it- The help is ready to serve you with a smile- Go by and see them today- Your tummy will thank you!!”

Before he won the presidency and while he was a Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden visited Atlanta in June 2019, meeting with several luminaries in the city as part of a political jaunt.
Biden, the former U.S. vice president, was campaigning to challenge President Trump for the White House in the 2020 race.
Joe Biden visited Atlanta And Ate At This Soul Food Restaurant
Atlanta is a heavily Democratic base for Biden, despite the staunchly Republican leanings of many in the northern suburbs.
Biden met with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and was shepherded around town to many of the city’s favorite haunts.
There was the customary lunch at Busy Bee’s on Martin Luther King Boulevard, as well as other stops.
It was great to be back in Atlanta! Thank you to Mayor @KeishaBottoms for showing me around town and for your work expanding opportunity to every corner of the city. pic.twitter.com/kmhmeN5lHm
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) June 10, 2019Now, Busy Bee has somehow become, like, a testing ground for visiting politicians who are about to launch a campaign. Not that long ago, rapper Killer Mike brought Bernie Sanders to the joint during the 2016 election for some fried chicken.
What was not known was whether Biden had the chicken, collard greens or fried fish. Atlanta has so many soulful restaurants to choose from.

Atlanta is tops in the nation when it comes to ATM fees, according to a new study from BankRate.com. The study looked at metropolitan areas with the highest and lowest bank fees, including charges for insufficient funds.
Atlanta residents are getting hit with the highest fees for using out-of-network ATMs and also rank in the top 10 for highest overdrafts.
When it comes to combined ATM fees, the national average is $4.64, but Atlantans are paying $5.60. Meanwhile,
Chicago residents pay the lowest ($4.11).Let’s look at the top 5 and lowest 5 when it comes to ATM fees.
Cities With The Highest ATM Fees Cities With The Lowest ATM Fees 1. Atlanta- $5.60 25. Chicago- $4.11 2. Tampa- $5.20 24. Los Angeles- $4.17 3. Detroit- $5.18 23. Seattle- $4.19 4. Houston- $5.03 22. Boston- $4.28 5. DC Metro- $4.93 21. Cincinnati- $4.31 “To avoid fees, consumers should limit ATM withdrawals to within their own bank’s network, says Bankrate.com’s Chief Financial Analyst Greg McBride, CFA. “While large banks have large ATM networks, many smaller banks and credit unions belong to nationwide fee-free alliances that may have significantly more ATMs available than even the ATM networks of big banks. One other option is getting cash-back at the point of sale when using a debit card. Banks don’t charge and very few merchants do either, amounting to a free withdrawal.”
How To Stop Those Bank Fees
Here are some tips shared by McBride on how to cut down on bank fees.
- “Consumers can avoid balance requirements and monthly fees by looking for a free, typically non-interest account,” McBride says.
- “Avoid interest checking accounts, with their high balance requirements, high monthly fees, and low yields averaging just 0.04%.,” he adds.
- “Nearly 90% of non-interest accounts are free or can become free by signing up for direct deposit,” adds McBride.

With millions of Americans mostly staying home these days, it’s the perfect time to put away some cash for a rainy day.
You may find it difficult to just “save” money if you’re used to going about your daily routine and spending here and there. But there’s an easy way to accomplish your savings goals.
This article will show you some insightful ways you can save money without any effort at all. The key is to save automatically.
The Best Way To Save Money: Automatically
When we say save automatically, we don’t mean that you need to put forth the effort to remember to move your money around every pay period. We’re talking about setting up your account to make sure you take out money automatically each time you get paid.
Let’s go over some ways to save automatically.
1. Make Sure You Set Up Direct Deposit
The only way you can turn your funds into an autosaving operation is that you set up direct deposit on the same account that you send your paycheck. This way, any money that hits can be distributed to the proper channels you choose.
2. Open A Savings Account
The first thing you should do is open a savings account and pull money from your paycheck to fill it automatically. What you’ll discover is that in a matter of months, you could have a significant stash in a separate account from your main one.
Here’s what to know about opening a savings account.
3. Start A 401(K)
If your employer offers a 40a(k) retierement account, make sure you take advantage of it. Not only are they pre-tax dollars, but 401(Ks) are typically matched by your company.
That’s means if you put in $6,000 a year, you could get up to double that at the end of the year in your account.
Want to get started? Here’s what to know about a 401(k).
