Marvel Fans Hyped Over Atlanta-Filmed Avengers Endgame Trailer

    3 Min Read

Marvel fans are losing their stuff after the Avengers Endgame trailer debuted on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The 2-minute video didn’t show many of the superheroes but gave fans just enough of the plot to spark a frenzy.

“Endgame” is slated to be released in U.S. theaters on April 26.

The new trailer comes on the heels of the success of Marvel’s Captain America. Unlike much of Avengers 4, which had key scenes shot in metro Atlanta, Captain America was filmed in London, Manchester, Caerwent, and Liverpool in the United Kingdom, and Los Angeles.

    Where was Avengers 4 filmed?

Filming for Avengers 4 began in August 2017 at Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville. The Atlanta area has been embraced by Marvel producers as an affordable place to shot and do post-production on the Avenger movies, including some of their individual superhero movies such as Ant-Man.

So far, three Avengers films have been shot in ATL with one slated for release in 2019.

The Captain Marvel trailer debuted during halftime of the Washington Redskins-Philadelphia Eagles game, which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

See the new Avengers ‘Endgame’ trailer

Fans can expect the usual superheroes with deep story arcs, including Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Widow and of course, Thanos.

Captain Marvel will be released in U.S. theaters on March 8, 2019, a few months ahead of Avengers 4, which premieres May 3.

Atlanta has become a movie mecca in recent years and Georgia has been a favorite location for TV productions since the state instituted generous tax breaks for film companies that agree to shoot locally. Projects from CBS, NBC, HBO, BET and more are slated to shoot in the metro area in 2018-19 and the foreseeable future.

With more than 700 movie and TV projects just in the last few years, the film industry has generated more than $9 billion for the state of Georgia.

“Stranger Things 3” just released a new trailer and it delivers on the strangeness big-time. The Atlanta-filmed series has been a runaway hit on Netflix.

The third installment is due to be released on July 4, 2019 and we can’t wait.

Watch new ‘Stranger Things 3’ trailer

In the new teaser, we see glimpses of the madness as rats are seen scurrying around the floor in one intense scene.

The episode is reportedly called “Mall Rats,” and with filming done at Gwinnett Place Mall, it’s a perfect fit.

“Stranger Things 3” began production months ago. Back again on screen are Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Winona Ryder. But new faces will include Jake Busey and Cary Elwes.

The actors all received huge raises before season 3: Young actors Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp will each make  $250,000 per episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Teenage actors Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, and Charlie Heaton will now make $150,000.

Will it be worth it? If “Stranger Things 3” can keep the mystery going and keep audiences guessing, then yes indeed.

  • AtlantaFx Season 3 Delayed, Exec Says - 'Atlanta FX' Marks Return Date As March 1

AtlantaFx Season 3 Delayed, Exec Says

    3 Min Read

Fans looking for AtlantaFX Season 3 will have to wait longer than expected. That’s because the hit show has been delayed, according to the FX channel’s chief executive.

“I don’t know whether we’ll have Atlanta or not. The writers are back working right now, thank God.” FX chief John Landgraf told the Hollywood Reporter.

AtlantaFx will be delayed, studio exec says

The sad news means the show won’t be around for the 2019 Emmy nominations, where it has garnered critical acclaim.

The reason for much of the delay centers on the show’s star, Donald Glover, according to Landgraf.

“As you might imagine, Donald Glover is sort of the king of all media, and he just has had an incredibly complicated life. He’s had personal things he’s had to deal with, from injuries to other things I’d rather not say publicly that just have to do with not with his personal life but his extended family. So I think one of the things that is just a reality of television today is you have to wait. We have so many things now that don’t cycle back on a regular basis.”

In December, while on the last leg of his “This is America Tour,” Glover told the crowd at Madison Square Garden that he had just lost his father in death.

“I lost my father a couple weeks ago,” the award-winning actor-singer-songwriter shared on stage. “And I wanted to play him some of the new songs… But he didn’t wanna hear ’em, ’cause he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great.'”

Landgraf indicated that he could force the show back on the air, but at creative cost. “From my standpoint, I wish for the fans as well as for us that we could get everything back on an annual basis but, again, you just have to make a decision about quantity over quality at a certain point — and we’re just erring on the side of quality.”

AtlantaFx is about three friends who help one of them navigate the rap music industry. In addition to Glover, the TV show stars Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz. Here are the characters they play:

    AtlantaFx cast & characters

    • Donald Glover: Earnest “Earn” Marks, a young Princeton dropout trying to manage the rap career of his cousin.
    • Brian Tyree Henry: Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, who is trying to make it in the rap world being managed by his cousin Earn.
    • Lakeith Stanfield: Darius Epps, Alfred’s eccentric best friend and partner who provides much of the comedic moments on the show.
    • Zazie Beetz: Vanessa “Van” Keefer, Earn’s on-again-off-again girlfriend and the mother of their daughter Lottie. She’s also of Afro-German heritage, as we learn on the show.

The second season of AtlantaFx titled Robbin’ Season, premiered on March 1, 2018 and won critics’ praise and widened the fanbase.
