Beyoncé Knowles-Carter released a new song “Spirit,” from “The Lion King: The Gift,” an album produced and curated by herself.
“Spirit” is being released alongside the new Disney movie. The album doesn’t come out until July 19, but the first single dropped following the film’s premiere.

The live-action “Lion King” movie stars Beyoncé and “Atlanta” actor Donald Glover voicing the title roles.
Beyoncé says she wanted the musical project to be as authentic as possible.
“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”
