With more than 700 movie and TV projects just in the last few years, the film industry has generated more than $9 billion for the state of Georgia.
There are so many movies filmed in Atlanta these days that it’s hard to keep up with it all. That’s why I suggest you subscribe to AtlantaFi.com to get all the freshest movie casting calls, celeb sightings and Atlanta happenings delivered to your inbox. -
The Atlanta Dream almost made an epic comeback against the Seattle Storm on Friday, July 6 in McCamish Pavilion, but it was not to be. The final score, 95 to 86, doesn’t really show how close the game was.
The Dream were paced by Angel McCoughtry, who scored 26 points, and Tiffany Hayes, who pumped in 23.
Atlanta looked like they were going to run away with the game in the early going, jumping out to a 9-2 lead. But the Storm scored 14 of the next 15 points and led the rest of the way.
Seattle, led by Breanna Stewart’s 29 points, dominated the first half and at one point led by 19 points, before the Dream staged a furious rally.

Every time Atlanta mounted consecutive buckets, Stewart, or Sue Bird (18 points) would counter. The Storm were nine of 20 from 3-point range.
Atlanta (8-9) hosts the Phoenix Mercury at home on Sunday, July 8.
