The Atlanta metropolitan area continues to grow by leaps and bounds, coming in No. 4 in cities with the biggest number of people moving in. Georgia’s largest city is only behind Dallas, Houston and Phoenix in number of people moving in, despite rising property prices, according to new numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Among America’s fastest growing regions, metro Atlanta has about 5.7 million residents, making it the ninth-largest metro area in the country. Much of the gains are happening in North Fulton County, which is the most affluent area of the metro area and state.
Just under 600,000 residents have moved into the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell area from 2010 and 2017, the census reports.
Since that time period only 12 other regions had more people added to their populations. Atlanta’s business climate, including a robust startup environment and the influx of Fortune 500 companies looking to plant roots here, has made the region a leading metro area.

One of the most talked-about, criticized — and addiction-inducing — TV shows is back on the air. VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” recently debuted its seventh season — SEVEN — bringing the world more of the “Puerto Rican Princess” Joseline and the marriage drama of Kirk & Rasheeda.
The show has endured tons of criticism over its run, including claims that it both glamorizes and disparages black and Latino women. But people still watch!
The franchise, which spun off from the original “Love & Hip Hop” series based in New York, premiered June 18, 2012 on VH1, and chronicles the lives of several people in Atlanta involved with hip hop music.
Here are some of the can’t-miss highlights from this season.

U-Haul is investing in metro Atlanta like never before with a new state-of-the-art self-storage facility, the company announced this week.
The new site is destined for 471 Eagles Landing Parkway in Stockbridge. The structure is possible because of U-Haul’s recent acquisition of a 324,000-square-foot warehouse.
U-Haul Mobility & Storage at Eagles Landing is currently operating out of a temporary showroom, but will transition to offer 1,800 indoor self-storage units for rent – a mix of climate-control and non-climate-control rooms with high-tech security features at affordable price points, once the property is repurposed.
“In the coming weeks, U-Haul will allocate warehouse space to store more than 300 U-Box portable moving and storage containers and lot space to accommodate 40 large U-Haul truck boxes – a sustainable solution for outdated fleet vehicles,” the company says in a press release. “These options will provide immediate and secure on-site storage for customers while self-storage rooms are being made.”
