    2 Min Read

Rreal Tacos recently opened in Buckhead, the company has announced. That’s good news for a foodie like me, considering all the awesome things to do in Buckhead.

The contemporary taqueria offers a fresh, seasonal approach to traditional Mexican fare. Rreal Tacos is in the midst of some ambitious growth plans. The Buckhead location has decor that differs greatly from the other ones, including a bar top design and tile ceilings.

Now Serving in Buckhead: Rreal Tacos

I was first introduced to Rreal Tacos in 2022, when owners owners Damian Otero’s and Miguel Hernandez opened their Midtown location.

“In Atlanta if you want real, authentic Mexico City tacos, you go to Buford Highway, but it’s not a date night kind of place,” Otero said in a press release. “Conversely, if you want something upscale with great drinks, it’s a mammoth restaurant with ‘Americanized’ food. We have created a niche intersecting the two.”

In addition to a Midtown location, as well as one in West Midtown, Chamblee and Sandy Springs. Rreal Tacos are slated to open in:

    • Cumming
    • Buckhead (2024)
    • Downtown Lawrenceville (2024)

Where Isl Rreal Tacos Located In Buckhead?

The Buckhead restaurant is housed in the space formerly occupied by Farm Burger at Tower Place, 3365 Piedmont Road. Here is a map to help you find it.

The bronzed shells and juicy meat found in Birria tacos can turn an ordinary Tuesday into an exiting extravaganza of Mexican cuisine for lunch or dinner. The only question is where can you find them?

Where Can I Get Birria Tacos In Atlanta?

In this article, we’ll explore several spots around Atlanta where you can buy an authentic birria taco. Once you try a taco at one of these places, you’ll be hooked.

Of course, birria tacos are a relatively new phenomena in Atlanta. You may be wondering where they come from.

Are Birria Tacos Of Mexican Origin?

There’s no dispute that tacos de Birria hail from a particular part of Mexico, Jalisco, to be exact. What makes Birria so good is that it’s actually a meat stew typically made from lamb, mutton or goat.

Birria can also be made with beef (carne de res). No matter what type of meat you use, the key is to use traditional Mexican spices and seasonings like dried chilies.

The Best Items From Chick-fil-A’s Secret Menu

    4 Min Read

Believe or not, but relatively few people know about Chick-Fil-A’s secret menu. What do you know about it?

This article is going to show you some items on Chick-fil-A’s secret menu. If you’re familiar with Dwarf House, the original Chick-fil-A, the secret food menu is something you know all about.

Chick-fil-A is part and parcel made of red Georgia clay. This is indisputable ever since a small eatery called the Dwarf Grille opened right under Atlanta’s nose in tiny Hapeville, Georgia back in 1946. Since then millions have become loyal fans of the restaurant known for the bad-spelling cows singing how to “Eat More Chiken.”

    What’s On Chick-fil-A’s Secret Menu?

How do you get to see Chick-Fil-A’s secret menu? You generally can’t be the drive-thru — these are dine-in options only. And you’ve got to ask (be nice) one of the workers. That’s how you’ll get to try some of these awesome secret recipes via Chick-Fil-A’s secret menu.

    Spicy Chicken And Egg Biscuit

The Spicy Chicken and Egg Biscuit is something you’ll never see on the Chick-fil-A menu, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have it.

How To Order It: Just tell the cashier that you want to add egg to your Chicken Biscuit.

    Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is what you get when you ask for hot sauce on your Chicken Sandwich. The way they do it is just great.

    The Double Decker Sandwich

The Double Decker Sandwich is one that very few Chick-fil-A servers can master. But for those that do, it’s a great treat.

    Chicken Quesadilla

    https://twitter.com/jimwags78/status/373900964563918848

Chicken Quesadillas aren’t something you’d normally think would be served at Chick-fil-A, but this food item is so good that it should be added officially.

    Spicy Charbroiled Chicken Sandwich

We all know that chicken is Chick-fil-A’s thing, so this Spicy Charbroiled Chicken Sandwich is a specialty that is right up their alley.

    The Double Double Down

Special shoutout to the Instagram accounts @nocatsgotluv4me and @pass_the_salt and @hack_themenu for their endeavors in the world of secret menus. Check them all out for more food hacks.

How Do You Order From Chick-fil-A’s Secret Menu?

Chick-fil-A’s secret menu can be ordered by asking an employee for some of the options available. That means you can substitute turkey for chicken on the chicken sandwich. That means you can add hot sauce to your chicken tenders. You can also get an assortment of sauces applied to your Waffle Fries.

    Final Word

If you’ve ever been to Chick-fil-A, you may know that those delicious chicken biscuits or waffle fries can be ordered a number of ways. One reason why is because Chick-fil-A has a secret menu.

There are so many good things to eat at Chick-fil-A. You can also try the restaurant’s Little Blue Menu.

  • Keith Lee Returning To Atlanta As Part of ‘Redemption Tour’

    5 Min Read

Food critic Keith Lee stopped in Atlanta several months after his original Georgia good tour. While he was supposed to do a food tour proper, he switched things up unexpectedly by making an appearance in the city on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

“There’s been a change of plans. Let’s talk about it. The next half of the food tour is not Atlanta,” he said. Explaining that he was going to be giving away free food, the Detroit-based food critic said there were some parties that pulled up with the intent to make a dollar and he wanted it made clear that they weren’t with him.

Will he come back to Atlanta for a food tour? We’ll see.

In late March, Lee announced on his Instagram that he and his family will be doing a “Redemption Tour,” for 2024, with Atlanta being the #1 spot on his list.

He stressed that there will be no do-overs, in other words, he won’t be returning to the same restaurants.

“This is a redemption tour: it’s not a good tour, meaning we’re not going to the same spots we went to last time,” he said. “This is a completely fresh slate.”

Things will be a little different though as the Lee family will have security with them this time, he said.

“We come in peace,” he said, a reference to the ruffled feathers that occurred last time he did a food jaunt through the city.

So where should Lee go? He mentioned that his focus this time will be mom-and-pop restaurants and food spots voted on by his followers, so here is a potential list.

What Atlanta Restaurants Should Keith Lee Visit?

    K&K Soul Food

881 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

    best black-owned restaurants in Atlanta

The original Bankhead Restaurant has been cooking home-style meals for the southwest Atlanta community since the 1960s. Now called K&K Soul Food, the eatery, which has been owned for the same family for 40 years, continues to be a standout spot for cafeteria-style soul food. Today the restaurant is run by Kimario Smith, who took over for his mother and grandmother. With its famed Pork Chop plate and Steak plate both priced at $6.99, K&K Soul Food is one of the cheapest — and best — square meals you can find in Atlanta.

One K & K Soul Food reviewer on Facebook said this: “Good SoulFood. Taste like somebody’s Auntie definitely in the kitchen.”

    Buttermilk Biscuits

1634 Virginia Ave, Atlanta, GA 30337

Buttermilk Biscuit has the best breakfast in Atlanta.

Tucked inside quaint shopping center Virginia Station off in College Park, Buttermilk Biscuits packs a big breakfast punch. Here’s what one reviewer says about Buttermilk Biscuits.

“The Belgian waffles were melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. Fried chicken breast was seasoned and cooked to crisp and juicy perfection, and the grits… I am a grits snob. There are literally only 3 or 4 restaurants in Atlanta that I refer others to when asked.”

Aviva by Kameel Coming To Buckhead

Rosemary chicken at Avia by Kameel in Atlanta.

Aviva by Kameel is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Atlanta and expanding to Buckhead.

The menu consists of hormone-free, butter-free food items, along with halal meat and classic salads and vegetables that have been locally sourced.

    Kelz Kitchen

Kelz Kitchen opens in Atlanta, Georgia

If you’re in the mood for some Coastal Carolina goodness, Kelz Kitchen is the place to check out. The eatery has two Atlanta locations.

Here’s what one reviewer says of Kelz Kitchen: “Omg when I tell you the lollipop lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the Salmon was grilled so well. The broccoli was fresh and the corn on the cob was sweet. I also enjoyed the pound cake with a Lemonade. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Food is cooked to orders I recommend ordering online. They only accept debit cards just a heads up.”

    Ms. Icey’s Kitchen & Bar

1371 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033

Ms. Icey's - The Best Soul Food Restaurants In Atlanta

The newest soul food spot in Decatur comes from owner and restaurateur Sim Walker, whose New York City rearing comes through in the vibe. Ms. Icey’s, named after Walker’s grandmother, is Decatur’s best-kept secret even though it has quickly become a culturally hip gathering place for those in the know. When cornbread comes in an iron skillet, and oxtails do as well, you know you’re in a foodie’s dream. Not only are many of the dishes a nod to Southern and soul food culture, but the drinks are mostly handcrafted, giving the place an organic life. The sweet potato waffles are to d
