There’s Fine Thai Food Going On At Buckhead’s Chai Yo

    Tee Johnson craigsotherlistyahoo-com August 9, 2018
    1 Min Read

We told you about the newest thai spot in Buckhead, Chai Yo, when it soft-opened earlier this winter. Now, the eatery has hit its stride.

One of its most popular dishes so far is “Plah Pla Meuk” a grilled marinated octopus in lime juice tossed with a number of delectable veggies for ascent. If you’re a curry lover (like me) there are a handful of dishes that you’ll love, like the Neau Panang and Khew Wan Kai.

Located at 3050 Peachtree Road NW Atlanta,, Suite R-8, the restaurant is hoping its affluent address will set it apart from the competition.

The restaurant says that it brings a “chef-driven Thai concept featuring Chef DeeDee Niyomkul’s interpretation of traditional and old-world Thai recipes using new world techniques and inspiration. From the family that created Nan Thai Fine Dining, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft and Tamarind Seed.”

We couldn’t agree more. But don’t take our word for it. Reserve your table at www.chaiyoatl.com.

Sage Buckhead is the newest location of the eatery, which has restaurants in both Alpharetta and Dunwoody.

“We opened the first Sage in 1998,” owner James Liakako told The AJC. “I’ve dedicated my entire life to this business. But I enjoy what I do. I don’t even consider it work. I like to entertain guests, and take care of people. I started with my father when I was 14 years old, and I haven’t stopped since.”

Atlanta’s best new restaurants you need to try for 2019

When it comes to restaurants, Atlanta is quickly gaining ground on some of the dining capitals around the United States.

Fast-casual is the dining trend du jour around metro Atlanta restaurants. The concept involves mixing the quick accessibility of fast food with the casual dining experience. Food in Atlanta is also adapting to the various tastes of the migrants that come here to live.

Patrons typically order off a menu board like they would at a burger joint, but the convenience of sitting down to leisurely enjoy their food has made the segment a popular one with the restaurant industry.

The craze hasn’t escaped metro Atlanta’s food and drink scene, which has seen a fast-caz explosion in recent years
