What we know about AtlantaFX Season 4 is that it was shot in succession along with Season 3 like “part one and two,” according to the network’s president, who dished on the show during a pandemic Zoom call.

Filming locations included part of Atlanta as well as extensive production in Europe. Let’s take a look at the first trailer for Atlanta Season 4:

  • Atlanta cheapest metros for renting vs. buying a home

Atlanta Leads Metros Where Renting Is Cheaper Than Buying A Home

    3 Min Read

According to a recent study, the metropolitan Atlanta area leads the nation in cities where it is cheaper to rent rather than buy a home.

The data, compiled in Realtor.com’s June 22 report, shows that the trend of higher home prices has flipped from what it was just a year ago.

“Eight of the top 50 metros flipped from having monthly buy costs lower than monthly rent costs in 2021 to having monthly rent costs lower than monthly buy costs in 2022, and one metro flipped from favoring renting to favoring buying since last year,” the report says.

Why Is Renting Cheaper Than Buying a Home Right Now?

The report indicates that interest rates, which recently eclipsed the 5% mark, are a major factor in putting homeownership out of the reach of many people.

Due to recent actions of the Federal Reserve, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate was 5.52% in June 2022. Just five months ago in January, that figure was 3.45%.

Let’s look at the metro areas where it is cheaper to rent than buy a home, according to Realtor.com.

How To Rent An Apartment In Atlanta Right Now

Atlanta’s rental market has not been for the faint of heart lately. Prices have shot upward over the past 12 months, but there are signs we could see some relief soon.

If you’re looking for an apartment right now, the first thing you need to do is make sure you have a firm budget for rent.

Don’t get misled by amenities are how large the apartment is, get what you can afford.

For example, if your monthly income is $3,000, your monthly rent should be around $1,000.

Typically, you will also need to have the first and last month’s rent. So if you’re renting a $1,000-a-month apartment, you will need to set aside an entire month of income to get the key.

Here’s how to get an apartment for cheap.

  • A Jazzman's Blue

Tyler Perry’s ‘A Jazzman’s Blues’ Coming To Netflix This September

    3 Min Read

Atlanta-based filmmaker Tyler Perry has a new Netflix movie in the pipeline and this one’s close to his heart. A Jazzman’s Blues is the title of the film, which was shot at his namesake studio in southwest Atlanta.

Perry said it has taken almost 30 years for the story to be told.

“I wrote it in 1995. It was the first screenplay I ever wrote,” he recently told People Magazine. “The two characters are just trying to find their own way in the world. Initially, I wanted to play the lead role of Bayou, but that was 1995 — I aged out.”

Perry On Actors Who Turned Down His Roles

Perry said that some of the actors he originally wanted for the project didn’t have enough faith in him.

“Unfortunately with this film, I went to a bunch of up-and-coming young artists who were getting a lot of attention and I asked them about doing the role. They read the script, they loved the script, but I think there was a reservation or hesitation about working with me in particular on this film, because I guess they didn’t know how it would turn out,” he told People.

Cast Members: Who Stars In A Jazzman’s Blues?

The Jazzman’s Blues has an all-star cast featuring the following actors:

    • Brad Benedict
    • Ryan Eggold
    • Amirah Vann
    • Lana Young
    • Austin Scott
    • Milauna Jemai Jackson
    • Kario Marcel
    • Brent Antonello
    • Joshua Boone
    • Solea Pfeiffer
    • Rod Wood
If that’s not enough star power, Terence Blanchard is involved in the music for the film and there’s choreography by Debbie Allen.

What is A Jazzman’s Blues About?

While not a lot is known about the plot, a summary of the film released by Netflix says it’s about “a sweeping tale of forbidden love.”

Perry told People that the plot of A Jazzman’s Blues came to him when he was in a very vulnerable state as a creator.

“I was in Atlanta struggling to make it. I was hungry, sleeping on my cousin’s couch, eventually getting put out and being homeless. I was trying to get my first play off the ground, and this screenplay just poured out of me,” Perry is quoted as saying. “I held onto it for all of these years.”

When Does A Jazzman’s Blues Stream On Netflix?

A Jazzman’s Blues starts streaming on on Netflix on Sept. 23, 2022.

The film is the second one that Perry is releasing this year. In February, A Madea Homecoming debuted on Netflix. In 2020, Netflix also streamed Perry’s A Fall From Grace starring Phylicia Rashad in a suspense thriller.

    Last Word

Perry is part of a $10 billion film industry in Georgia. There are so many movies filmed in Atlanta these days that it’s hard to keep up with it all.
