Peace up, A-Town Down. Atlanta recording artist Usher plans to open up to nine Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants in the metro Atlanta area, AtlantaFi.com has learned.

In a press release on March 27th, the multi-Grammy winner announced his investment in a franchise group led by Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali to introduce the popular hot chicken joints to the region.

“I’ve tried a lot of hot chicken, but Dave’s Hot Chicken is truly amazing. I’m thrilled to be a part of the brand and bring their delicious tenders and sliders to the people of Atlanta,” Usher shared in a statement.

With its roots in California, Dave’s Hot Chicken has a global presence with approximately 200 restaurants worldwide and more than 700 in development. Usher joins a list of celebrities, including Drake, Maria Striver, and Samuel L. Jackson, who have also invested in the brand.

Although the company has not disclosed the specific locations of the new restaurants, Atlanta fans can look forward to enjoying Dave’s Hot Chicken soon.
