Atlanta movie mogul Tyler Perry has been making the rounds doing promotion for his newest film, Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story, which is streaming on Netflix.

When Perry recently went on The View TV show, he was struck by something Sara Haines said about the documentary.

“I met your mother,” Haines said about the film, which has received rave reviews from critics. That little aside caught Perry right in his heart. “You .. you met my mother?” he said, visibly emotional.

Perry’s mother passed away on December 8, 2009. For him, the moment was one of confirmation that the documentary introduced the woman who raised him to the world.

Watch the emotional moment here.

  • I like Tyler Perry's movies I have always respected Tyler Perry but I have no respect whatsoever for The View they need to be off of the TV and Tyler Perry there's a lot of people that feel like myself you become what you hang around and a lot of things that they say on the view is sickening against other people and I feel sorry for these people that are on The View because some of them I used to really enjoy it especially whoopee but if you were to make a movie sisters act three I have been praying that you couldn't pay me to go see it they treat other people that didn't have their same view as the quote unquote view has then we should die just remember you become what you hang around and if there's evil in someone's heart you become evil I pray that you keep your morals just because someone says that they met your mom or whatever doesn't mean that that person doesn't have evil in them or they can have good but I don't like being threatened by The View as a viewer and I am definitely a movie buff but I have to say I did not pay to go see your movies here recently think about that you're going up here on One show you need up your own the other side show I don't have to spell it out
