Don’t go chasing waterfalls, at least not unless it’s the Amicalola, which is Cherokee for “tumbling waters.” The falls are comprised of seven cascades at Amicalola Falls State Park. At 729 feet, it is the tallest waterfall in the state.

The 2024 Dogwood Festival returns in Atlanta’s best park this weekend. Are you ready for some outdoors fun in the sun with live music, good food and vendors from all over?
There’s no doubt about it. The Dogwood Festival is one of Atlanta’s best festivals.
After 80 years, the Dogwood Festival still aims to inspire as thousands of people continue to converge to see artisans, eat authentic foods and have a good time. This year will be no different.
New this year is an interactive bronze sculpture that will welcome guests to Piedmont Park. The sculpture, shaped as a giant dogwood limb with massive blooms, will also serve as a bench for park visitors and a beacon for years to come.
