Mister Burger is expanding from Buckhead to downtown Decatur in September 2026, taking over the former Casa Balam space on West Ponce de Leon Avenue.
The smashburger spot that opened in 2025 at 308 Pharr Road NE has built a following for late-night smashburgers on sesame-seed brioche buns, loaded fries, onion rings, and milkshakes (including a Biscoff version). The new location will occupy 201 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., the site previously occupied by Casa Balam, which closed over the summer after operating in the old Ted’s Montana Grill space.
Mister Burger Decatur Location Coming
Mister Burger is opening Friday, Sept. 11 with a grand opening weekend of deals, including free “single” smash burgers for all three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
What the Buckhead original offers

Mister Burger keeps the menu tight: Single Smash, Double Smash, and an Impossible version, all with grilled onions, pickles, cheese, and house sauce. Sides include seasoned fries (often ordered loaded with cheese, chopped patty, and sauce), nacho fries, and onion rings. It operates as a walk-up/takeout window with a drive-thru, stays open until 1 a.m. most nights and 3:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and added lunch service in 2026. Reviews consistently praise the crispy-edged, peppery-seasoned patties and late-night hours.
The Buckhead spot shares a building with Habitat bar upstairs and has hosted anniversary events with specials, DJs, and rooftop access.
Why the Decatur move matters
Downtown Decatur already has a strong burger scene, including Smileys Burger Club (which itself is opening a Summerhill location on Sept. 1). Mister Burger’s arrival fills a recently vacated space and brings a focused smashburger concept with proven late-night demand into a walkable, family- and nightlife-oriented downtown. The original location’s compact format and emphasis on one well-executed item should translate well to the new site, though specifics on hours, indoor seating, or any menu additions remain unconfirmed.
Check Mister Burger’s Instagram (@misterburgeratl) and local outlets such as Rough Draft Atlanta for opening-week details, hours, and any Decatur-specific promotions as September approaches. The expansion continues Atlanta’s busy 2026 restaurant calendar of new and relocated concepts.
