Atlanta will be a satellite screen location of the Sundance Film Festival in 2021, the festival announced. The move means that Georgia’s largest city will serve as one of Sundance’s satellite locations.

Atlanta Chosen As Satellite Screen For Sundance Film Festival

Additionally, the Atlanta Film Society has been selected as the city’s presenting partner. The Sundance Film Festival will take place January 28 to February 3, 2021.

As part of the deal, the Atlanta Film Society will be able to co-create and present Sundance programming to the local market.

Sundance’s slate of films will be announced at a later date.

“With the pandemic changing the landscape and format of film festivals globally, it was no surprise to learn that one of the most respected and recognized film festivals in the world, the Sundance Film Festival, had come up with an innovative plan to meet audiences where they are for their 2021 event,” said Christopher Escobar, Executive Director of the Atlanta Film Society

In addition to the Sundance Film Festival partnership, the Atlanta Film Society will present the 45th annual Atlanta Film Festival from April 22 – May 2, 2021.
