Submissions Opening For Atlanta Public Schools Students To Compete In Google Science Fair

The Google Science Fair will begin accepting submissions on Thursday, September 13 at King Plow Arts Center located at 887 West Marietta Street Atlanta, GA 30318.

The fair is an online global competition designed to inspire teens around the world to solve real-world problems through STEM education.

Representatives from Google will join State Rep. Ed Setzler and Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Meria Carstarphen as hosts to a science fair event for 100 APS students. The kids will be able to take part in interactive activities and innovative project ideas for this year’s competition.

Submissions for this year’s Google Science Fair will be accepted online through December 12, 2018.

A panel of judges from leading tech and STEM-related organizations will review submissions from across the globe and announce regional winners in early Spring 2019 and 20 global finalists in July. Students will be competing for a $50,000 grand prize scholarship, but runners-up and regional winners can also win academic scholarships and travel-based prizes from this year’s sponsoring organizations.
