If you miss the days when you walked into a place and the blips and bloops of Galaga, Pac-Man and Space Invaders used to fill the air, you’re about to love this: An arcade-centric pub is coming to Buford Highway.

Now you can drink beer with one hand and hold a joystick in the other as you play those 1980s games you grew up with.

Player One Arcade Pub opens doors on Atlanta’s Buford Highway

Player One Arcade Services was founded in 2015 when My Parents Basement in Avondale Estates commissioned them to build a Nintendo cabinet for the establishment. They never looked back.

The restaurant is planning to open its doors on Buford just outside I-285 although where is still up in the air. Wherever the vintage arcade bar lands, there will be extensive focus on the kitchen, its owner said.

“We are breaking away from the game bar template by offering our own food,” Pratt Mizgala told Eater Atlanta. “When we would talk to people about their experiences at game bars, we’d consistently hear that they liked it, but then they’d get a little drunk and hungry and have to leave to get a meal.”
