Meehan’s Public House Buckhead Closes Its Doors

Meehan’s Public House Buckhead, which has several bars around metro Atlanta, recently announced that it was closing its Buckhead location. Friday, April 20 was its last day in operation.

The tavern opened four years ago at 322 E Paces Ferry Road NE and fought to stay in the black in a competitive restaurant and bar scene that was tailored for the affluent.

On its Facebook page last week, the restaurant told patrons that it was abruptly shutting down:

“Regretfully, after some great years in the Buckhead community, Meehan’s Buckhead has decided to close its doors. We are grateful to all of those in the neighborhood that supported our pub. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every day with you guys, from our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and fall Oysterfest events to Thursday night trivia and live music on the weekends. We’ll miss serving each and every one of you!

The Irish eatery will still operate its Sandy Springs, Atlantic Station and downtown locations.

The vacancy won’t last long. Sports bar Irby’s Tavern will open in place of  Meehan’s, What Now Atlanta reports.
