Yet new movie studio is taking shape in metro Atlanta, this time with Lionsgate, one of the major movie studios in the world. The 40-acre property will be anchored by Lionsgate, but other tenants will fill out the facility as well.

The $200-million complex, owned by Great Point Studios, will be a 500,000-square-foot, full-service entertainment facility on 40 acres. It will reportedly feature 12 sound stages, along with office and support space.

Douglas County Commissioners have been trying to lure top-level media and tech companies due to the potential economic compact to the area.

The studio will be a short distance from the mansion built by Tyler Perry, who knows a thing or two about movies.

Great Point Studios, the owner of the complex, plans to offer a full range of production services on-site, including props, set building, restaurants, location catering, and security.

Lionsgate Studio Atlanta, currently in development in Douglas County, GA, is where some of the location filming for Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games” franchise was done. The facility is expected to be operational in late 2023.
