The unique food concept comes from parent company AMP Up1 Hospitality and sees itself as “your third spot” to spend time besides your home and workplace. Here’s what you need to know about Your 3rd Spot food concept, which joins a stable of new Atlanta restaurant concepts opening lately.
The proprietors of Your 3rd Spot envision the place as a spot “to eat, drink and play,” with friends.
When Will Your 3rd Spot Open?
The restaurant and gaming spot is set to open on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Doors open at 5:33 p.m. for a grand opening celebration. Here’s what guests can expect:

- Swag and plenty of giveaways
Guests must RSVP online to be eligible for giveaways, and the first 100 to arrive will receive a VIP gift.
The restaurant and gaming spot will open in The Works development in Atlanta’s Upper Westside, which has become a popular gathering spot for city residents.

Illy Caffé is set to open in “early spring 2023,” according to a news release. Atlantic Station had been without a coffee shop proper after Starbucks closed down on the corner of 17th and State streets.
This will be Illy Caffé’s first location in the Southeast as the brand looks to make a further imprint in the United States.

Once again, Krystal is partnering with a celebrity influencer to sell its food.
The Atlanta-based restaurant recently announced that its creative marketing chief, rapper and businessman 2Chainz, has tapped Brittany Renner to be the face of its “Side Chik Chicken Sandwich.”
“At Krystal, we are here to disrupt the QSR landscape and are excited to be working with Brittany Renner as she has a pulse on the culture.” S2 Chainz said in a written statement. “We know everyone has a favorite already, so instead of fighting to be your go-to, we’re happy to be your little something on the side.”
In August 2022, Krystal tapped L.A.-based singer and reality TV star Ray J to push a campaign. The restaurant has made a big effort to appeal to a younger generation and Renner’s inclusion is another step toward that.

Atlanta has been chosen as a test city for KFC’s new Chicken Wraps, the restaurant announced recently.
Select Atlanta locations began serving the Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps on their respective menus on Oct. 3, 2022. The wraps will be available for a limited time.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps come in three varieties:
- The Classic Chicken Wrap: Hand-breaded Extra Crispy Tender, crunchy pickles and creamy mayo, wrapped up in a warm tortilla.
- Mac & Cheese Chicken Wrap: Extra Crispy Tender with rich KFC cheddar mac & cheese sprinkled with a three-cheese blend.

Slabtown Public House is closing its doors after just six months in business, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Slabtown specialized in “casual pub food,” according to owner Kevin Gillespie, who is also founding chef of the Red Beard Restaurants Group.
Slabtown Public House Set To Close
Slabtown will reportedly shut down for good on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Gillespie said that Slabtown just couldn’t be kept float, according to a statement obtained from the Chronicle.
“We have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Slabtown Public House permanently,” Gillespie said in the written statement. “The reality is that many small businesses have closed since 2020 either due directly or indirectly to the economic impacts of COVID-19; we are simply the latest to do so. In time we hope to be able to bring Atlanta new restaurants again.”
Across the past two years, scores of Atlanta restaurants have closed down due to COVID-19 and its many variants. Staying above water has oftentimes centered on keeping fewer staff members on board and shifting to contactless carry-out and delivery options.
