Study: Atlanta Braves Tickets Are The Cheapest In Baseball

    2 Min Read

Tickets to see the Atlanta Braves play at SunTrust Park are the most affordable out of any MLB team, according to a new study. GoBankingRates.com looked at Major League Baseball stadiums and compared what it costs fans for tickets, food, beverages and parking.

Despite being one of the newest stadiums in all of MLB, admission to SunTrust Park came in No. 1in being the least expensive. When you add other expenses such as food, parking, etc, the Braves ballpark came in overall in second place, bested only by Coors Field.

The Braves began play last week in its second season at SunTrust Park after a quarter-century in downtown Atlanta’s Turner Field.

People heading to a Braves game are encouraged to park in Official SunTrust Parking Lots. There are 19 official parking lots operated by the Atlanta Braves that contain 14,000 parking spots. Prices in the lots range from $10 to $18, and parking can be purchased on the Braves website ahead of time.

Other insights from the GoBankingRates.com study showed that it costs nearly $100 to enjoy the amenities at some of MLB’s top ballparks.

  • Report: ‘Black Panther’ Gets Greenlight For Sequel

    2 Min Read

The massive box office hit known as “Black Panther” will definitely get a sequel, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly.

Feige said that it was way too early to talk about plot, but he could confirm that movie-goers would be treated to more goings-on in Wakanda.

    Watch: Marvel’s ‘Infinity War’ trailer

“Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that,” Feige was quoted as saying. “One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”

After one of the strongest opening two weeks in modern cinema, “Black Panther” is expected to easily pass the $1 billion mark. The film will soon open in China, seen as a major movie market.

Starring lead actor Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita N’Longo, the movie was produced by “Creed” and “Fruitvale” director Ryan Coogler. Boseman said he lived in Atlanta for nearly two years while filming “Black Panther.”

“When I was shooting Black Panther in Atlanta, I used to drive back on off-days to go see my family in Anderson. It’s about two hours,” he said. Read more of his interview here.

A producer on the film said that the for-home release of the movie will re-insert two powerful scenes that were cut for space reasons.

“Hands down the most painful scene to cut was [one] with Danai Gurira and Daniel Kaluuya,”  Michael Shawver, who spoke with The WraShap said “Hands down the most painful scene to cut was [one] with Danai Gurira and Daniel Kaluuya,” referring to Wakanda’s armed forces General Okoye and tribe chieftain W’Kabi. In the movie, the two characters are in love.

“Toward the end, after things go bad and Killmonger [Michael B. Jordan] is in control and all that, we’re talking about, what are they going to do? What is Wakanda going to become?” Shawver told The Wrap.

Atlanta is going ga-ga over “Black Panther,” Marvel’s biggest and latest release. The movie debuted this week after pre-selling a record $150 million in tickets and taking in an additional $200 million over the weekend, which puts it around $350 million.

Black Panther Grosses Over $1 Billion At Box Office

The movie has gone on to gross more than $1 billion, which is a first for a Marvel movie.

Many are saying  with the international box office still in play, the movie will be Marvel’s biggest. Director Ryan Coogler, an Oakland native (a city that plays prominently in the film) is already being prodded for a sequel.

The film notched the fifth-largest domestic opening ever, Variety reports.

Black Panther has taken on a life of its own,” AMC executive vp global programming and chief content officer Elizabeth Frank, told The Hollywood Reporter.

In Atlanta, people were excited about “Black Panther,” one of the most prominent black superheroes in the Marvel universe. At the Southlake AMC theater, the cinema had a record 83 showings for the film on Friday alone.

If you thought Wesley Snipes’ “Blade” trilogy was the best black superhero, it’s time to rethink that.
